Going Testing

.Jessica POV

I sighed and finally went back to the toilet to carry out the test. But I wish that it come out negative because I can't be pregnant for my stepsister's boyfriend.

I leaned on the wall and stared at the test tube in my hands. But I took the pills. If this test comes out positive, then I do what its necessary.

If truly I'm pregnant, then I'm aborting the pregnancy because there is no way that he will be the father of my child. He had clearly told me he didn't want children.

Maybe I'm not pregnant. I just need to use the test tube to see after all. I followed the instructions on it and wee in a bowl.

Then I inserted the strip in it, i watched it anxiously to know. According to it, one red line meant negative while two lines meant positive.

I held the test tube and stared at it, the first red line showed up and I became scared as Beth told me she didn't want any babies around her.

I started breathing heavily as I could only see one line. Yes!! It was negative, Gosh!! I was so scared to the bone.

I brought out the tube from the bowl and threw the urine away. I looked back at the teat tube and it was still showing one red line which made me exhale.

I leaned on the wall and batted my lashes as I breathed heavily. I could feel my heart beating at a fast rate as what happened.

I went to the toilet seat and threw the test tube in it flushing immediately. Oh Gosh!! I can't believe this, Thank Goodness, I didn't get pregnant.

Why would Beth make me feel scared like this? I can't be pregnant, its not possible.

"Jessi?". Beth called.

I walked out of the toilet room. "Hey".

"So, did you do it?". She stared at me keenly. "What was the results?".

I sat on the bed. "It was negative, totally".

"Are you sure?".

"Definitely, only one red line. Checked the strip several times".

She exhaled. "Good".

"You got me scared back then. How can you insinuate that I'm pregnant?".

"You felt sleepy, tired and then puke. What else do you really expect, Jessi?".

"I don't know". I shrugged. "But the feeling is still there, i feel sick".

She crossed her arms. "You sure that you took those pills?".

"I took them, Beth. And to prove it, i just did that test and it turns out to be negative so that is my clear proof".

She rolled her eyes. "You better be right".

I wanted to get back to breakfast but mere looking at it makes my stomach churn.

"Jessi, I don't think you are okay. I think we should go for a test in the hospital".

Dustin Paige

I looked away from my mirror to see Lily by the door with Nanny. She was dressed for school already in her cute uniform.

"Daddy". Lily giggled running into my arms.

I caught her placing kisses all over her face then her hair as she laughed in response.

"How's my little angel doing?".

She pouted. "But Daddy, you haven't done what I asked".

"And what is that?".

"Remember? You said Jessica is coming over".

"Now, now, dearie". Nanny interrupted. "Its breakfast time and you need to get early to school, you know".

"But daddy". She whined.

I crouched in front of her. "Baby, I called Jessica and she'll come over for stakeout by the weekend, is that okay with you?".

"Yes!!". She jumped around.

I smiled happily. "Now off to breakfast, you need to eat".

"Aren't you coming with me?".

"Lily I have to get to work. One of Daddy's company needs checking out right now".

"Fine". She replied and walked out of the room.

"Dustin Jacob".

I groaned slightly. "Yes? Nanny".

"Its been weeks since you've eaten beside Lilian and she needs you".

"And this is why I employed workers in my house so she wouldn't feel lonely at all".

"She doesn't want that, she wants her own father".

I sighed. "I'm trying my best, okay? Its hard to juggle work activities with having time for her".

"Then set out priorities".

"Don't you think you should be at the table watching her? I don't trust those maids around my daughter and you know that".

"Do come down for breakfast if you want Lily to go to school with a smile on her face". Nanny said walking out.

I took a deep breath and sighed. Its just so hard being a father, i didn't even expect it and to make it worse, she left me.

She was supposed to stay with me for our child but instead, she went away. If I ever see her again, i can as well shoot her dead.

I rolled up my sleeves lightly folding them at the elbow then fixed my collar before brushing my hair slightly to fall at the top.

I took my briefcase and headed out of the room. I handed it to one of my guards and walked down the grand stairs.

I stopped. "Haven. How many minutes do I have to the corporation meeting?".

"20 minutes, Sir". One of the guards replied me.

I sighed and then walk directly to the main breakfast table only for my daughter and I.

"Lily. Are you ready?". I stride into the dining room.

She beamed brightly. "Daddy!!".

"Do you want Daddy to drop you off at your school today?".

"Yes. Daddy". She replied and we both laughed while the workers standing by watched.

"Daddy, join me for breakfast".

I glanced at my watch. "Baby, Daddy will be late for work if he does".

"Just for dessert".

I sighed softly and sat next to her. She cut a slice of her strawberry cake immediately.

"Say aah. Daddy".

I opened my mouth and she fed me the cake giggling lightly like the angel she was.

I smiled. "Its yummy, baby".

"I told you. Nanny makes the best cakes ever".

I chuckled. "Now that you are done eating, lets take you to school".

"But my driver isn't here yet".

"I'm the one taking you to school".

"Daddy is going to school with me". She jumped on her seat excitedly.

I smiled watching her. She's the greatest joy in my life. My little Angel.

Jessi pov

"So what's the result, doctor?". Beth asked as I became nervous.

"Well have you taken that you shouldn't have?". The doctor looked at me. "Like drugs or something?".

"Do I look like a damn drug addict?". I yell in response.

"Jessi, it was just a question".

"No. I haven't taken anything like that". I reply calmly, this time.

He scribbled it down. "Have you eaten?".

"Um, not really". I glanced at Beth. "I felt sick at breakfast".

"That's probably the problem, are you under any stress at the moment?". He asked me scribbling again.

"Stress. Wow, that's an understatement. My Mum died months ago, my Dad doesn't like acknowledging me as his daughter".

"She has a bratty elder step sister". Beth added.

"Yeah, I actually do". I agreed. "And my ex boyfriend who I loved cheated on me".

The doctor nodded. "Okay. We'll just use the blood sample that we took minutes earlier and then consult a test".

"Umm, is it possible that I can be pregnant right now?". I asked him anxiously.

"No, not every case. In your case, I would say its probably PMS".

I looked at him. "Huh?".

"Premenstrual Syndrome. Its emotional and physical symptoms that occurs a week before menstruation".

I exhaled deeply. "Oh".

"But what about the symptoms she was having?". Chloe asked him.

"Fatigue, irritability and depression, hers is more effective due to the stress she's been under".

Beth glance at me. "Thank your stars, you are not pregnant".
