You're pretty

I never thought that Noah would answer me like that. I was expecting another answer from him. I want him to tell me that he really wanted to have a kid with me too, just like how I wanted to have one with him.

How can he be so insensitive? He didn't even think about what I would feel? I guess... he never changed. The morning came but I wondered if I didn't want to get up and go in on my very first day at the office. I was mad at him. I resent him.

I went downstairs and saw him having coffee. I didn't even smile when I saw him. I was mad at him. I was annoyed. I was already walking towards him.

"Good morning," he greeted me as I faced the fridge to get the milk.

"Hmm," I uttered in a cold tone and that was the only word that came out of my mouth.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

I turned my back on him, and plastered on a tight smile, "Nothing's wrong. I am fine," I answered him, but he was still looking at me while frowning. I rolled my eyes and averted my gaze at him. I started to drink my milk, but I could sense that he was still looking at me. When I raised my head, I saw him, still staring at me.

"What's the matter? Why are you like that?" he asked me.

"What? What do you mean?" I asked him, innocently, even though I knew what he was referring to.

"This! You're being rude and cold," he said.

"What? Me? Rude and cold?"

"Yes. What is this all about?" he asked.

"Nothing. I'm not in the mood right now to talk, Noah," after I drank all the milk in my glass, I stood and walked away from him, but he gripped my wrist, causing me to look at him.

"What? What do you want?"

"I don't want you to act like this until we get into the company. So, what is it? What's the problem?" he asked me, and he looked so serious.

"I want to fix what problem we have. So, tell me what is it?" I'm still looking at him now. I could feel his seriousness as he looked at me.

I took a deep breath, "I'm sorry. I know I'm a bit rude and cold to you now. I am just annoyed," I honestly uttered in front of him.

He frowned, "By what?" I bowed because I was ashamed to tell him that thing. I was still bent over for a few minutes when he suddenly raised my head and faced him.

"Tell me what it is," his voice ... It was calm and he was so desperate to know what it was.

I sighed, "I want a baby," I bit my lower lip while saying those words to him. He was still looking at me, no reaction. When I raised my head again and looked at him, I saw a smile was slowly forming on his lips. "Alright. Shall we make one right now?" he asked me, and my eyes widened.

"That's not what I mean... I mean..." I stopped speaking when he suddenly pulled me up and hugged me tightly.

"Don't worry too much, Abi. I ... will make kids with you," he uttered while he gripped tightly my waist. I closed my eyes and nodded my head at the same time. When he released me, he then smiled at me. "Shall we go now?" I nodded my head and we both went towards the car.

He even opened the car door for me before he went in to the driver's seat. He then started to drive towards the company. I was staring at him while he was driving. A smile was slowly forming on the corner of my lips while looking at him. Noah has been so attentive and caring about me since that day.

When we arrived, a lot of employees and staff greeted us. I was smiling as I was walking behind Noah. I remember what he said yesterday. As his secretary, I had to walk behind him as it was my duty to do so. I don't want Noah to treat me differently, especially because I am his wife. I also want to feel that I am his employee while we work for the company.

We arrived at his office. I bowed my head with a smile. "Shall I make you a coffee?" he nodded his head and I went out of his office.

I was walking towards the kitchen when suddenly I bumped into someone. "I'm sorry," I uttered while bowing my head. When I raised my head, I saw a man in front of me. I bowed my head again while saying sorry to him.

"It's okay, Mrs. Brown," he uttered.

"Okay."

He was about to go when I spoke again, "By the way?"

"Yes?"

"Where's the kitchen?"

"Ah... Just turn left and you'll reach it," he replied.

"Ah, I see. Thank you," I started to walk again and saw the kitchen.

I was about to enter the kitchen when suddenly...

"Did you see Mr. Noah's wife? "

"Yes, I've seen her."

"I don't like her. She's no good match for him."

"You're right. She's also ugly," those words made me stop walking and stiffen at where I was standing. I was still at the door when suddenly...

"Mrs. Brown? Are you okay?" a staff member asked me, and then I nodded my head when I looked at her.

"Yes, I'm fine."

As I looked at the employees inside the kitchen, I could see in their eyes the shock of seeing me in front of them.

"M-Mrs. B-Brown," they were so surprised to see me there.

"Maybe you're all right."

"What? What do you mean, Mrs. Brown?"

"That I'm ugly," I uttered, and their mouths opened wide and they looked at each other.

"No. You're wrong. You're pretty," she said, and I scoffed.

"You don't have to say that. I ... heard them all. I ... heard all the bad things you said about me," I added, and they both bowed their heads.

I went inside the kitchen and started making coffee for Noah. I could clearly feel that they were pushing the blame on each other. After making a coffee, I turned my head at them. "What are your names?" I asked them, and they gulped.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Brown," she said.

"We're really sorry, Mrs. Brown," they both said in front of me.

"I don't need your apology. I... need your names," I kept staring at them. I don't want to act like this, but I can't let them belittle and say bad things about me. I need to be strong and play the role of being Noah's wife.

After they said their names, I went out of the kitchen and walked back to Noah's office. I smiled when I got back and placed the coffee on his table. "Where have you been? It took you awhile? Don't telll me..."

"No."

"You got lost?"

"Ah, yes. I got lost," I was nervous as I thought that he knew that I had been in a fight in the kitchen. I went to my desk and started doing my daily task. As I said to Noah, I am a fast learner, so... I started to work with him as his secretary. I want to be friends with others inside the company, but... As I am doing that, it's like hurting myself and making me believe an impossible thing will happen.

Noah's staff and employees didn't want me. They didn't like me. They always badmouth behind me, but... I am used to it once. But why? Why am I affected again?

I was in deep thought when someone laid a hand on my desk. "Hey? Are you daydreaming?" I looked at him and smiled.

"Noah..."

"What is it? Did something wrong happen?" I shook my head, "No... There's nothing," I replied.

"Alright. Let's go home," I nodded my head and stood by my desk and walked together with him. I could walk together with him as all his employees had gone home. We were walking when suddenly he grabbed my hands and locked them with his, causing my eyes to widen and I looked at him in surprise.

"Let's walk like this until we reach the car, okay?"

"Okay."

When we arrived at the car, he opened the car door for me and smiled at me. "You can do it," he uttered, and that caused me to stop and just think of him. My heartbeat started to pound so fast while staring at him.

"What? What do you mean?"

"I know... I know that you're having a hard time socializing with them, right?"

I stared at the ground, "Ah... Yes. They didn't like me at all. So, I'm just going to ignore them."

"They liked you."

"What do you mean? They all badmouth about me," I said to him with a pout.

"Because they're jealous," he said.

"What?"

"They're jealous because you're pretty."

To be continued...
