"I know you can't do it," he said, "so don't put yourself under too much pressure, Mr. Brown." Noah's attention was diverted because he was taken aback by what he had said at the time. The man took advantage of Noah's distraction to flee because he didn't want to hurt Miranda's son.

Noah regained control and remembered Lauren. He approached her, dropping the gun.

Noah carried Lauren to his car, where he drove her home. He looked at her before draping the blanket over her. While his gaze remained fixed on him, he drew a smile on his face. He was about to reach out and touch her face when Lauren opened her eyes to see Noah standing in front of him.

He took a step back and turned away from her. Lauren sat up slowly, swallowing, and asked, "What am I doing here?" "What exactly am I doing here?" She asked him, puzzled, while holding her head.

He came at last
