It was nearing dusk by the time she awoke, and the sun had already set behind the mountain overlooking the forest she was in.
Below her she could see the shapes of some grey fox like creatures with large eyes and two bushy tails each. They seemed to be searching for something in the underbrush.
Asteria had more pressing matters to attend to. Namely the blinking light in the blue window next to her.

"Rookie Monster? Does that mean I'm a Monster?" Asteria asked curiously as she moved her hand towards the window.
As soon as she did this, another window popped up in front of her.

"So I have to kill to get stronger huh" she mumbled with a frown. 'Well I'm sure there are other ways that don't require killing' she thought to herself.
"Anyway, if I can look at my title maybe I can do the same with my skills," she said as she moved her hand forward again.

Seeing this she was mildly impressed with herself. "So I can fly, use magic, and avoid danger as long as I can move my body," she mused. "Though the flight is a bit expensive right now."
As she was thinking about this she made sure to distribute her stats in a way that would help her utilize her skills.

"Right, now that that's done I should find something to eat, I haven't had anything since yesterday,"
Unfortunately there was a problem with this. She didn't know what star children were supposed to eat.
She figured that the best thing to do would be to go back to where she had woken up, but if she was going back she had to prepare for another fight.
It would likely be more difficult this time since the people that attacked her would be on guard since one of them was killed the night before.
She needed a plan, and for that she needed to understand her limits. Since she had lived alone in an observatory in the mountains back on earth, she had learned how to hunt and defend herself from wild animals.
She knew how to use bows, knives, hunting rifles, and improvised traps.
Unfortunately for her, the only thing she had right now was a glowing hunting knife she could conjure from light.
While she might be able to ambush one of them, the others would probably kill her afterwards.
However, she could use this to lure them towards small makeshift traps and places she could potentially trip them up.
If she played her cards right, she could either force them to leave, or get rid of them to level up her monster title.
As she was thinking of ways to get rid of her enemies, her pursuers were setting up their own traps.

"It can't have gone too far since this is the only place on the mountain that grows mana fruit." The man said to his colleagues.
"Ahh I can't wait to rip its eyes out!" Replied a tall thin man. "What is it with you and eyes?" Laughed a third, much shorter man.
"Well regardless of your weird eye obsession, we need to be careful. This thing managed to kill Joe and he was our tanker. That means either it's fast, or it's smart." Said the first man.
Hearing this, the fourth man rolled his eyes. "Smart my ass. Knowing Joe, he was probably just playing with his damn food and forgot it could use magic."
"Hey hey hey, don't speak ill of the dead," the short man laughed. "Oh please it's not like anyone would miss the bastard," smiled the fourth man.
"Haha, well you're probably right, but we should still get ready, it's almost night time so that thing should be coming back soon." The first man said.
"Fine"
"You got it boss"
"Let's get to work"
And with that, they got to work setting up their net.
