[Amai Kuma's POV]

"Any news of Sukaina?"

I turned my head to see Shisui Uchiha walking my way. I shook my head and said, "You should get some sleep."

The Uchiha looked past me, at the vast expense that stretched out in front of us, and said, "I can't sleep."

I nodded stiffly and turned to the horizon too. It was clear to anyone who had seen the explosion and the crater left behind that this was the attack of a Tailed Beast.

Not only did we not expect a Jinchuriki to be leading the army, for them to actually use such a weapon meant they must have been pretty desperate to get rid of whatever was attacking them.

On one hand, this meant Sukaina had completed her mission, the enemy forces must have been greatly weakened, and even if not, they had at least been slowed down as our reinforcements got the time to reach the fortress as Kumo's army spent the night in the nearby hidden village.

Without looking at my companion, I asked, "How are Itachi and Yugao?"

Shisui replied, "Yugao only needs some rest. As for Itachi, his situation was critical, but he will pull it through. However, he may never fully recover from his injuries."

I looked at him in surprise and asked, "He will have to retire?"

Shisui shook his head and replied, "Not to that extent. Nothing is sure yet, he may do a complete recovery."

I sighed, and was about to turn when I spotted something in my peripheral vision. I instantly whipped my head to the nearby hidden village, and squinting my eyes that way I was shocked to see Kumo's army rapidly getting out of it.

Shisui and I shared a look, before I hollered, "Prepare the defences!"

The whole fortress spun into action as all of our soldiers quickly prepared for the incoming attack. By the time Kumo's army arrived before the fortress, all of our soldiers were prepared, armed to the teeth.

The rest of the officers had joined me on top of the fortress. Below, their general took several steps towards us, entering our range as he yelled, "Surrender, and you will be spared! Don't think you stand a chance!"

I looked at his army, and said with a smirk, "Seems like you lost quite a few men."

His gaze locked onto me, and he snarled, "It seems you have made your choice."

As he said that, he returned to the midst of the army, while a woman stood out this time. Blue chakra rolled out of her body in waves as she morphed into a giant cat made of blue flames.

This was, without a doubt, the Two Tails, as well as the one who had caused that huge explosion. Seeing she wasn't attacking right away, I said, "What's the point of taking this fortress if your Raikage and Eight Tails get killed? Or do you really think they stand a chance against the Yellow Flash?"

Their reply was the Two Tails starting her attack as a large purple ball quickly formed before her. I did not panic though as I rose my right arm.

However, Shisui stood out and said, "No need to bother about that, I'll be taking care of the Two Tails."

I wanted to protest, but as he turned to look at me, I was shocked by his eyes. His Sharingan was turned on, but the three black tomoes were spinning to form a strange shape.

While I was stunned, Shisui jumped toward the rapidly forming ball, and as it was launched, green chakra gathered around Shisui, quickly forming a giant bone structure, which was then covered in armor.

In the giant's right hand a giant lance formed, and clashed with the purple mass in mid air.

The two forces clashed with one another, and there was a moment of stillness, before the purple mass finally broke down into a huge explosion that engulfed the green giant, as well as a part of Kumo's Army. As for us, we were unscathed.

And while everyone waited for the dust to settle to see what happened to Shisui, the Green Giant once again appeared, bursting out of the smoke to attack the Two Tails.

The giant spear clashed with the Two Tail's side, sending it flying as it crushed and burned many soldiers on its path, with Shisui following closely behind.

The soldiers did not move for a moment, before the enemy commander yelled, "Attack!"

All of a sudden, Kumo's army stopped caring about the two behemoths fighting and focused on us. Seeing the enemy advance into our range, I raise my hand and ordered, "Knock!"

"Draw!"

"Fire!"

A hail of arrows rained down on the enemy army as several dozens of our enemies got skewered by chakra powered arrows.

Our archers fired two more arrows, but the enemy army arrived directly below the fortress. Ladders were pulled up, so with another command I had our ninjas breath down fire onto the mass below.

However, the ninjas among the enemy all started running up the wall, and dispersed our attack with Suiton jutsus, before running up to our level.

I sent a look at the Army's Commander, who nodded, and engaged with the enemy myself.

The ninjas of both sides fought against one another as the regular armies went for more mainstream ways to attack as one side used siege tools and weapons, while the other did the same to defend.

As for me, because I was the acting general of this battlefield, I had to face the enemy general, whom I now could recognize as C.

As our kunais crossed one another, we both looked into each other's eyes, the same cold killing intent exuding out of both of us as we both acted.

C made a hand sign with his free hand, and a blinding light appeared around me, which blinded me for a moment. I closed my eyes in discomfort, but did not stop my actions as I dropped my kunai, and used my other palm to strike towards C's chest.

I felt my strike land, but the moment I touched C I felt a strong shock travel through my hand. I ignored the pain of lightning though and swiped my leg at ground level, but hit nothing, meaning C must have jumped.

As we no longer touched each other, the lightning did not paralyse my fingers anymore, so I fired a Katon jutsu in his general position, while placing my hands over my eyes for a quick heal.

As vision returned to me, I realized C had dodged my fire jutsu, and was rapidly going through handsigns. I didn't know what kind of attack he was going for, so I went for a quick jutsu.

'Doton: Lesser Earth Wall!'

A relatively large wall rose up in front of me as C also finished his jutsu at the same time. Mine was a C Rank, and offered a relatively good defence. I do know stronger jutsus, but they would have required more time, time I didn't have.

Fully knowing my wall wouldn't stop whatever attack was coming for me, I jumped out of the way. However, as I did so, I was shocked to see a snake made of lightning curving around the wall, heading directly for me.

Gritting my teeth, I quickly searched for a solution, and as I landed on the ground I found it. I grabbed the corpse of a fallen comrade next to me, and used it as a shield.

A part of the lightning did course through, but the corpse I had picked up had taken a major part of the brunt as I dropped it the moment it was hit.

The corpse was charred black by the attack, while I only had some difficulty moving. Raiton was annoying not only because of its destructive nature, but also because of its paralysing effect.

I could see C was intending on using my condition and attack me, and I wasn't about to let him. As C approached me, kunai aiming for my throat, I spread an absurd amount of chakra in my legs, freeing them from paralysis, and strengthening them for a moment.

Using that burst of power, I launched my still paralysed body straight at C, ramming into him like a bull. C tried defending himself with his kunai, but even if I wanted to I wouldn't be able to divert my charge, so I slammed right into him, while his kunai pierced into my guts.
