I alighted and paid the driver. And the very first time I was in a train station and I was waiting for the train that would take me to maybe Ghana. I went to the ticket window and to book my ticket to Ghana. Finally, the driver arrived and I boarded the train. I went in to my seat and sat down, looking round the passengers in the train. I looked out of the window admiring the birds, trees and mountains as I felt the train moved. I watched as the train rolled into the caves.

Wow, I never knew that there were carved holes underneath the mountainous region of the earth.

I looked round to see the passengers infront of me, and there was infront of me a pretty girl of my age staring at me.

Gosh, why the stare? Was I clown or something?

I knew I was handsome but I had never seen her before. I wasn't ugly, Was I?

Don't worry I'll send you guys a picture of me and I know you're gonna drool on me.

No,I wasn't cause all my female friends back then, said I was the handsome guy they had come across.

Well,I wouldn't lie! I'd steal a glance occasionally from her if she wasn't staring at me.

You act like you haven't done it!

Hey, don't give me that frown!

Ok, this happened severally till we had an eye contact.

OMG!!

I'm freezing!

I went extremely shy that I had to bury myself into the deck chair of the train.

Oh,I remember she was actually staring at the bandages. yeah,I know bandages on my forehead, on my leg and a swollen eyes and mouth.

Pa your my.....urgh...

She was still staring, she's getting me so shy like..... like a fried tomatoes..... tryna explode.

And to cap it all, I hadn't taking my bath.

Gosh,I'm shy, I smell!

I was looking like the inferior one so it had to stop! I took out my handkerchief and spread round my face.

Omo (an exclamation) lemme see how she's gonna stare! Foolish girl!

Little by little, I dozed off.

I felt someone pat me on the laps.

Wait! Thank God I was dreaming!

God bless the soul from waking me from that horror dream.

I woke up and looked around. It was her! The girl!

"You've reached your destination, man!" she snapped trying to pull me up.

"Thank you, but I can stand on my own" I protested.

"You've should have said thank you! Never mind, you're wounded, what happened?"she asked.

"Stay off me,I don't want to talk!" I mumbled.

She was getting to my heart where it was sore and fresh.

"I'm fine, can I go?" I said as I picked my luggage and trailed off.

I began to shed tears, hunger was back but I went on walking. People passed me giving me one wild stare. I was among new people, new country and a new culture..

Frankly speaking, I didn't know where I was going!

And you know Africans, there's always a small instinct-like-god that would tell us what to do.

The long distance I walked, the more distraughted I became. The streets I was walking through seemed dangerous. The buildings were so gigantic that it shield the sun from reaching the ground making it a kinda dark. And you could rarely see a soul walking here.

What am I actually doing here?

I decided to go back, I turned to leave when I noticed some gangs behind me giggling and jeering at me. I ignored them trying to walk past them when one of them held me firmly by the collar. I knew they wanted to rob me. I tired to run but all I could see myself do was to limp-run. they giggled asking me to run.

"He runs like a moron"

One of them voiced.

They eventually, took a hold of me and made away with my phone and wrist watch.

Can someone say goodbye to my wrist watch. I'm gonna miss her!

I walked faster. my destination seemed unending.

It would had been better sleeping in the mountains in Lagos.

I wandered round Bolgantanga in search of houses. I saw one particular house which caught my attention. I went up the stairs and was about to ring the door bells when I saw a fat woman peeping at me through her window.

Does she think I'm a burglar?

I walked down the stairs immediately, hungry and tired.I was about to leave the building when she called out to me.

"Yes ma'am"

"Come here, ok, don't be afraid!"
