Chap 6

"What were some bundles of money doing in the music room,huh?" Paul the waiter asked giving me one weird look..

"Money?" I asked alarmed.

"Yeah, you heard him right?" Ayomide(a waiter)thundered.

"Who got the money we saw in the music room?" Mr Akinbiyi who was losing his patience asked standing akimbo.

"They must me be crazy" I thought.

How on earth was I answer their question, but this isn't an April fools day so no pranks! I thought.

"I don't know about any missing money,I promise."I said trembling as I stared at bimpe who I thought would at least try to defend me. It was like I was dreaming so I'd end up in jail. I thought(it was scaring thinking such).

I was mad at everybody most especially, Bimpe.

"Sir, even if the money was found in the music room I don't see enough reason for you to blame me. remember am not the only one who had access to the music room everyone has access to it Ayomide, bimpe, Paul, you and I all has access to the room. you know what, I'm done! I'm leaving this filthy place where I'm not respected! I'm leaving! I'm fed up!" I screamed leaving the bar.

At some distance, I felt someone walking behind me.

"Stop!"a familiar voice called out.

I abruptly stopped waiting for the person to catch up with me.

"Hey, I'm sorry for what happened there" the voice said.

It was bimpe, what was she doing here?

"What's the problem?"I asked looking so fed up.

"Please, reconsider,I know you ain't gonna do something of that sort. please come back to the bar with me" she pleaded looking so guilty.

"I'm never going back there, please go back there and don't try to stop me, I'll look for another job, bye"I said shabbily.

"You Don't understand, you've already made a name there and....."

"Bye,I don't want to talk about this" I said interrupting her as I poised to leave.

I walked further not looking behind but I could hear her crying. Which made me increase my speed. I felt really bad. I arrived home sitting on the pavement Titi came up to me and said

"You came home early"

"Yeah"

"But Ma said you ain't gonna come home early again"

"Yeah, go to your room lemme go get you food".

I was getting mad and remembering Mr Akinbiyi made my angry rise like a boiling water.

"I hate you! Why couldn't you at least defend me!"I snivled.

I went to the kitchen to prepare lunch for my siblings. When the food was ready, I shared it equally among ourselves. I rushed my food so as to hunt for job.

Fortunately,I found a job I was also employed as musician.I was to work from 6pm to 12am. it was cool and better. I told them that I'd start working right away.I started my work right away immediately it clocked 6pm. I sang about heartbreak,I cried and cried which made my customers feel for me, they loved the song that it prompted them to spray notes on me.I sang at least two more songs, when Mr. Cole the manager, beckoned on to me to stop. I was paid as usual as I trekked home.I could feel the void in my life and I wanted get over it so I bought a drink(alcohol) along the way. As I took a sip occasionally from the 5th drink I bought, my head twirled as I laughed and staggered along the road drunk, mumbling some strange words to myself as I laughed giggling like an insane man.I got home and saw Ma eating,I went to get giggling and mumbling.

"Pa! Pa! Where are you? I'd like you to come out here if you have the gut!" I shouted hiting my hands on the chest.

"Who's making those useless sounds huh?"he said staring at me in bewilderment.

" I'm the one, Pa, do you remember how you hit Ma, I'm gonna hit you just like that"I said with the bottle in my hand as I took another sip.

"How dare you to challenge me your father, huh?"

"Did I hear you just say father, stop fooling around, have you ever bought for me, clothes or paid for my school fees, huh?"I asked flamboyantly as I staggered towards him spitting to his face.

"Don't you dare" Pa roared as he briskly held me by the collar.

"Dear womanizer, would you mind getting your hands of my shirt,I got them ironed this morning" I said jeering at him.

"Adejoke, please come inside" Ma pleaded as she drew me to come inside the house.

"Woman, will you let go of him and get inside right now" Pa roared.

"Stop roasting like a lion and face me or are you scared of me" I taunted laughing staggering from one place to another sipping from the glass of liquor.

"I said inside, woman" Pa bawled once more.

Poor Ma what could she do, she had to obey her husband's instruction. Pa focused on me, held me by the collars And yanked me which made me to fall. my black cute see of eyes were blazing at dad, unblinkingly. I was angrily crazy.*bad right?*

"How dare you!" I shouted staggering towards Pa to hit him.

But Pa quick enough he was to grab me by my neck. A blow fell on my mouth. I whirled around like a spinning cover. Pa struck me again on the head with that ironic hands of his.I fell to the ground. unable to stand, Pa got me off the ground as he shoved me violently.

"Stop that Pa" I warned.

"Then never irritate me" he said banging me against the wall.

I pushed him down as I fought tigerishly, I smacked him which might have gotten him surprised, Pa struck me and I dodged. I staggered towards him.

"Stand there boy, I'm gonna teach you a lesson" he said, his face filled with rage, his body vibrating.

I was tired, but I had to stand fighting as I had never got fought in my life. Then Pa struck me with his belt,I screamed in pain, but Pa was fast on me, he lashed several me severally across the face.I screamed wildly which made Ma come out of the house pleading with Pa to forgive me but was yanked in by Pa as he locked the house.I ran towards Pa as I threw my right leg for him which gave him a shove, tripping him, as we both fell to the ground. I bit Pa on his hand, we rolled, kicked, scratched and hit as if we're the deadliest thing we had seen. I was profusely bleeding like so bad, man. I was helplessly on the ground, but I was happy that I gave Pa a scar. my sight got blur, everywhere spined. Pa kicked me once more which made spew out blood. He left me and went inside. After minutes there was a very rain, it rained so much but no one cared on taking me inside so I had to spend the night outside wounded and drenched.
