We stopped by and bought ice creams..
We stopped to drink water at any borehole we saw because we were out of breath due to my speed.
We even forgot to get Abam from school and it was getting late.
"Ohhh, Ade.. let's go home. its already 8pm.. mom would be so angry!" Eva cooed.
"Yeah, let's get home!" I said trying to start the bike.
"Oh gosh!" Eva exclaimed.
"We've ran out of fuel!" I angrily announced, hitting my foot against the bike.
"Can you imagine!" She exclaimed.
"Its so untimely!"
"There isn't any petroleum station nearby.!"
I looked round and I was getting super scared. I didn't want to get beaten up... its been a year now and I need no whacking!
"This is a very dangerous path..I heard that girls get raped here and that many have been robbed. I think we just have to pull it along with us!" Eva suggested.
Poor girl! I knew she was scared...
"Don't worry nothing bad will happen to us" I said, unsure of what I said.
Within me, I was scared....I pulled along with me, the bike.
"Its 8:30" Eva cried.
"Its all my fault!" I said.
"We don't have to blame ourselves all we need to do is to get ourselves out of trouble!" Eva screamed.
"Keep your voice low, Eva, just shush!" I whispered.
We were mute and i was as cautious as ever.....I prayed silently in my mind asking God to please protect both I and Eva and my silly bike. we pulled and pulled...
Men, I was getting super tired.
"8:50"Eva repeated.
Oh, we needed to go home Mrs. Maya would be super worried. I pulled it more faster until we were out of the path. we could see business men and women in their business premises. we pulled to a nearby petroleum station and bought fuel.
"Oh men, now let's ride faster"see pleaded.
I rode more faster and finally we were home.
"you go in!" She said, trying to push me inside the house.
"No you go in!" I said.
"OK, let's go in together!" she protested.
"Better!" I said in affirmation.
We went in together and we saw little Abam inside the sitting room standing akimbo facing the sitting room.
