Chapter 21 — Are you living a new life too?

I've been stuck on a chapter for more than three days and I've realized that the story is going at a very slow pace... so I'm planning to change a few things.

I was planning to have Ai Hayasaka get the Phoenix Inheritance along with Leo in Martial Peak and Seol Chae-Eun the black book but I will have Leo go to the Mushoku Tensei world earlier than planned and both of them will be summoned there.

I would like to know if you have any idea of what kind of magic or weapon Ai Hayasaka should use, keep in mind that it shouldn't be too strong from the beginning... you could also help me a lot by giving me a feedback on the story in general.

The instant Leo's presence and the 3 girls accompanying him disappeared from Nine Heavens Holy Land, inside a spacious hall, a beautiful black-haired woman opened her bright green eyes and smiled.

'Have fun, baby' thought Chisato as she expanded her Sensory Perception to locate the place where her son had appeared.

Turning her gaze to the west, with her eyes closed, she sensed Leo's presence 100 000 km away and said in her heart, 'When you feel pushed into a corner, don't forget that mom will always be with you.'

Chisato never tried to keep her son locked up, she loved him and cared for him deeply but that would not make her keep him away from the harsh reality of this world.

She brought that tortoise so Leo could use it and see the world for himself, if at any time he found himself in a situation he couldn't get out of, she would just teleport to his side, take care of everything and make that moment just a dream for Leo.

However, her son did not disappoint her. He was so mature and clever that she didn't need to do more than smile proudly, yet there was something that worried her.

She has already quit counting all the girls her shameless son romanced during his 'trips', he's not even 10 years old and he's already playing with women.

'Is it my fault?' she thought feeling a bit guilty for doing all those things with her son since he was 3 years old.

'No! It was him who initiated it' Chisato refused to be the blamed one and dismissed it as her son's natural talent at handling women. A bewitching crimson hue began to tinge her fair cheeks reminding herself how well gifted he was.

'Good trip, baby' with a last thought she closed her eyes again and resumed concentrating on the treatment of the two people in front of her.

Inside a dense forest, a black vortex appeared between several bushes.

It expanded rapidly and suddenly 4 people were ejected from inside.

Leo, with his eyes closed, quickly began to comprehend the mysteries of that spatial power as soon as he landed.

On the other hand, Pandora, Qingge and Qiuyue were holding their heads because of the annoying headache caused by the long trip. The twins had only traveled a short distance before and did not take into account that they would have a backlash as they went to the farthest place the tortoise could take them.

Seconds later, Leo opened his eyes and thought confidently, 'Five more trips and I'll be able to understand that ability completely.'

Every time he used the Wandering Tortoise's power, Leo could grasp small hints of the Dao of Space and after several trips he was close enough to creating his own ability, and it took him barely any effort to do so!

Leo was so pleased with the tortoise's usefulness that he stroked his little head once again, which was slightly retracted from exhaustion.

If another cultivator heard his thoughts, they would cry tears of blood for how unfair the heavens were.

Not only was he blessed with an incomparable appearance, but he also has a terrifying talent in the Dao of Space.

The Dao of Space had always been an extremely esoteric field, extremely difficult to comprehend and even more difficult to practice. The number of cultivators even slightly familiar with the Dao of Space was extremely small.

"Nn, let's rest for a moment and then find out where we are" Leo suggested as they still needed a few minutes to stabilize their slightly agitated Qi, to which they all nodded sitting cross-legged on the fresh grass.

After a few minutes, Pandora was the first to open her eyes and looking at Leo asked, "Should I inspect the area with my Divine Sense?"

With a smile at how useful a Divine Sense was Leo replied, "Don't do it yet, the tortoise needs to rest for a few hours before using its power again," looking around he continued, "Let's start by exploring on our own, this forest is very similar to all the ones on the Tong Xuan Continent but we should be several days away from the sect, there should be something interesting around here."

Pandora pouted slightly but then smiled warmly seeing her younger brother acting childishly. "Mm, then—", before she could finish a cheerful voice suddenly interrupted her.

"I'm going with big brother!" Qingge declared enthusiastically as she stood up and looked at Leo with starry eyes.

Qiuyue, on the other hand, could only sigh internally and slightly lower her little head. It was hard to compete with her energetic and straightforward sister, 'If I were more assertive maybe...'

Leo had no problem with that so he also stood up and walked towards Qiuyue, crouching down once in front of her, "It may look like a peaceful forest but we are in an unfamiliar place so be careful," he then took her hands and handed her the turtle, "This turtle can't go far but taking you to my side won't be any problem, don't let go, okay?".

Qiuyue was slightly stunned seeing his beautiful golden eyes so close to her face but she quickly hugged the turtle to her small chest and replied, "Y-yes!"

'Big brother will never leave me aside' thought Qiuyue smiling in delight.

"I'll go with Qingge to the south, you girls can go to the north. If you meet any local cultivators, try to avoid them until I get there with you", Leo said looking towards Pandora.

They are quite well known in the surrounding cities of Nine Heavens Holy Land but still they can provoke bad intentions being alone and so far away from their territory, they were young ladies with great beauty after all.

"I know, I know~ we'll be careful~" Pandora knew it too and smiled happily, what woman wasn't happy about the concern of the guy they like?

"Good, then we'll meet back here in 5 hours. Good luck girls".

Everyone had what they needed in their space rings, so, without any baggage, both groups started moving in opposite directions.

Leo wasn't looking for any particular treasure, and there was nothing special about this forest either. Just a large number of swamps and common spiritual herbs.

He was losing interest more and more, the only thing that kept a smile on his face was how unlucky Qingge was. Which was quite contradictory considering she had a power that could be considered cheating.

"Big brother, carry me~" Qingge asked exhaustedly. Although she had her spirit and willpower to the fullest, today was not her day....

She didn't want to keep walking, and Leo's speed was also a bit fast for her even though he was holding back so she wanted to be on her big brother's back.

It was her privilege as his little sister!

Leo just chuckled and walked towards her. This new life was full of new experiences for him. An older sister, younger sisters, a mother... they weren't a normal family but this was what he and Mi— he stopped when the figure of a certain light violet haired girl came to his mind.

'Are you living a new life too?' Leo thought with a bitter smile. Even if he had this opportunity, her having it as well was too convenient and Leo didn't think he had such a 'protagonist luck', after all, his life only improved by his own efforts.

"What's wrong, big brother?" Qingge asked disconcerted by his change of attitude.

"Uhm? it's nothing" Leo snapped out of his thoughts and kept moving forward curving his lips with slight mischief.

Qingge was waiting for Leo to turn around and bend down so she could hug him and climb on top of him, but her eyes widened in surprise when Leo suddenly swept his arms behind her and lifted her up, "Kyaah~" a cute squeak slipped from her lips.

"If you go behind me you might fall. Don't worry, I won't let you go" Leo said in a slightly deeper voice holding her in a princess carriage, inwardly amused. He obviously knew the lovely twins' feelings.

He wasn't a pervert who would touch children, but he couldn't help teasing them from time to time, especially when they had such adorable reactions.

Qingge didn't respond and just buried her head in his chest, trying to hide her blushing face, but her little reddened ears betrayed her.

Thus, they continued on their way, this time eastward.

An hour later, they had found nothing worth mentioning and for some reason encountered no monstrous beasts all their way.

Calling an end to their boring exploration, they turned around and returned to the meeting point with Pandora, more than half of the agreed time had passed after all.

Qingge was still comfortably held in Leo's arms, he no longer needed her help but with the excuse that it would be faster this way she remained in that position.

Overcoming her shyness, she had decided to take advantage of this rare opportunity.

"Stop big brother!" suddenly pulling the fold of his robe, Qingge whispered to stop Leo.

Leo stopped running and looked at her with a bit of curiosity, "What's wrong, Qingge? Did you see something?"

"Mm! In that swamp the Scarlet Blood Orchid will appear in 10 minutes!" she replied pointing to a swamp 200 meters away from them. Although she tried to speak as quietly as possible, she couldn't help but fill her words with emotion.

"And it's a seven-leafed one!" added Qingge.

'So a thousand-year-old World Spirit Treasure.' Leo quickly understood why she sounded so excited.

World Spirit Treasures were extremely rare and difficult to come across, after all. Many cultivators would live their entire lives never seeing one.

While they didn't need any treasure and Qingge was just excited about the accomplishment of capturing a World Spirit Treasure herself, abandoning treasures that are in the palm of your hand is something that makes even a girl like her reluctant.

"Okay, but be careful big brother."

In the end, Qingge gave in to temptation.

"Of course."

Without another word Leo jumped into the swamp.
