Unaccounted Trauma

_Andrea Jess Collins's Point of View_

I climbed up the stairs, hiding my presence from the officers and the enemies.

After a few more floors, I reached the rooftop and I saw Irene fighting with three guys so I helped her.

She's using her kunai while I'm using my whip.

I asked Irene to put the acid tablet on their wounds since she's the one getting close contact.

After a while, the men fell to their knees whining and grunting in pain.

I took the signal jammer and broke it.

After a while, the nail liquor changed colors back to black, meaning the signal is back again.

I looked at Irene and we both put on our earpieces.

"What happened?" Chelsea asked worriedly in min

"Signal jammer, how about you? Did you stop Frost from sending backups?" Irene replied

"Yeah, the drones are back on footage too. " He said so we breathed a sigh of relief

I took two drones from the location and made them come to me.

"Here, just to be sure we get it documented," I said and gave the other drone to Irene.

She nodded at me after stabilizing the access and control over the drone.

"Take care of that," I told her and she nodded

We went in different directions again, I climbed down the stairs to go out of the abandoned building.

I can still hear gunshots and shouts from outside.

The police are trying to get the syndicate members to surrender which I know is impossible.

They won't be the biggest known syndicate if they are just all airheads and arrogance.

They should be strong too if they were able to impose a huge threat like this.

I pulled my drone and entered a room when I saw a group of police officers coming in my direction.

They can't see us, I know we're wearing masks but we can still be recognized by these officers.

My eyes widened when I saw what's inside the room, I feel like my stomach churning.

Damn.

I walked slowly and I almost puked when I saw hearts, lungs, intestines, stomachs, eyes, and other organs in glass jars.

They're illegally selling organs.

My heart almost stopped beating when I opened the door I saw.

How heartless could they be?

My eyes suddenly welled up with tears as I stare at the sight with pity and disgust.

"What's happening, AJ?" Chelsea asked so I shared the feed from the drone in my hand.

"What the fuck ?!" Irene cussed

What the fuck, definitely.

Children.

Children are unconscious and lying in beds here.

Some babies are innocently sleeping soundly while some kind of host is plugged in the glass case.

"Get out of there, AJ. Leave the drone," Chelsea ordered so I immediately released the drone.

It flew but did not leave the position that Chelsea assigned to it.

"C... B..."

My voice was almost shattered, especially when I saw a child who suddenly woke up crying but I couldn't hear it because he was inside clear glass.

"Go back to your car, AJ. Inform them," Chelsea said so I slowly left that room.

I quickly went to where I came in from and exited the abandoned building.

I don't know how I managed to go to my car with tears in my eyes, and how I didn't even stumble down even when my eyes were blurred.

I removed my mask and gloves and then cried harder when I went inside my car, my tears just won't stop falling like an open tap.

"AJ..." Chelsea was trying to soothe me from the earpiece

"It's hard for her, C. You know AJ has a soft spot for kids, I could already imagine seeing L with a worse reaction if she was in AJ's spot." Irene said and I sobbed harder

"Sorry, I forgot, AJ," Chelsea said

"It's... It's fine." I said with a cracking voice.

I calmed myself before going out carrying my tablet. I went out of my car and went to where the police cars are and where we left the guys.

"Jess..." Irene hugged me when she saw me

"What is the problem?" Caspian asked and I handed him my tablet

"Is the signal back?" Elijah asked and I didn't hear any response from Irene but I know she nodded

"Where is this?" Caspian asked while looking at the screen

I located the drone using my hologram keys and it showed the exact location of the room.

"Chief, we received a tip. There is a room with children in the building." Caspian reported through his walkie-talkie while watching the feed from my drone on my tablet

I took my tablet and looked at Lavalee's location through a drone and I saw that she's no longer tied up and her captors are now cuffed and held by the police.

"Can we come in?" I asked and they looked hesitant and surprised

"They're caught already. You have nothing to worry about now," Irene said

"Alright then," Elijah said and we went into the abandoned building

While we were walking, I was watching the footage from the micro cam in Lavalee's jacket.

I unconsciously stopped when I realized the direction where Lavalee is going.

"Jace, are you with Lavalee?" I asked him when the shock disappeared

"Yes," he answered

I held Irene and showed her the footage.

"Fuck shit!" she cussed and we ran to where Lavalee is. Caspian and Elijah ran after us.

We halted when we saw that Lavalee was already there.

She's there…

There... standing frozen on the spot while looking at the kids and the bloodshed on the ground.

"Lavalee!" we said with wide eyes.

She looked at us with teary eyes so we ran to her and hugged her.

"Ms. Lee, Ms. Collins, what –"

The chief was cut off when we heard a loud ringtone and we saw how Lavalee's eyes darkened.

Lavalee can kill them if she goes berserk.

We can't let her like that, she'll torture herself again once she wakes up.

"Lavalee," we called her and she shook her head while bowing her head

"Lav, please," we said and hugged her.

She was starting to shake as if she's crying but there wasn't a single sound coming out of her.

"Get her out of here, Jace. Please," I told him and he quickly grabbed Lavalee

Lavalee was starting to struggle from Jace's grip.

We quickly held her hands, Irene held her cheek and made her look in the eyes.

"Lavalee, wake up, wake up!" Irene said while shaking Lavalee

She's motionless as if she's hypnotized or entranced by something that we don't know.

"Eomma... Appa... Samantha... Array... Freia... Icey... Fuego... Nii-sama... Wave... Bloom..."

We continued shaking her as she mention the name of those she lost.

"Lavalee, please not again," I told her

"Lav, you're better than this," Chelsea said worriedly but we received no response

"Chief, we'll be bringing Lavalee home," Irene said

"Ms. Lee, we still need her statement – Uncle, she needs to rest." The chief halted when Jace cut him off

"But, Jace, you know – She needs to rest," Jace cut him off again and pulled Lavalee who's still currently out of it

She's still in her state of blackout.

We began to panic when we realized that Jace is the only one with Lavalee.

Lavalee will go insane once her reminiscing finishes.

She'll hurt Jace unintentionally!

"Ms. Lee, Ms. Collins," the chief called us

"She was traumatized. Her trauma came back after seeing those things, Chief, I hope you understand why we think Lavalee can't answer and give her statement yet." I told him and left to go to my car

I drove after Jace and then saw them stopping at the side after their drive became zigzag.

I parked near them and I saw Irene's car.

When we went near, we saw Lavalee's head down and from her figure, we quickly realized she was crying.

She recognized Jace.

I looked at Irene and she smiled, we're both relieved at that.

Lavalee can't recognize anyone when she's in that state of blackout but there's one word that can somehow make her stop for a moment that is if she recognizes the owner of that voice.

I'm relieved, no, we are relieved that Lavalee recognized Jace because apart from Frost, Chelsea, Irene, and I, Lavalee can't recognize anybody else's voice, not even her younger siblings.
