Escape

_Third Person's Point of View_

"Japatrein? What will you do there?" his mom asked so he sat on the bed and sighed

"It's Lavalee's birthday tomorrow." He said and looked at his mom

"Lavalee's birthday is tomorrow? Oh, her parents are probably worried about her." His mom said

Jace's shoulders fell at the mention of her parents, he remembered that Lavalee and her siblings are already orphans.

They don't have any parents anymore. Jace hugged his Mom, which made Reese confused.

"I'm lucky I still have you and Dad, Mom," Jace said while hugging his mom

"Why are you going to Japatrein?" his uncle asked so Jace released his mom from the hug and looked at him

"I'm going to help prepare a surprise debut for her," Jace answered which made his uncle and Mom look at him with a smile

"Lavalee Hanazono seems important to you, huh," his uncle commented

"She's too precious, Uncle." He said and then he remembered the box where the necklace is.

He took it and opened his luggage.

"Is that what you're going to give her? Maybe its owner is already looking for that." Reese asked and so he sighed

"It belongs to her, Mom," Jace said and opened the box

He showed the engraved initials.

L.F.H.

"L.F.H. Lavalee Flamelinne Hanazono," he said and placed it back in the box

"Then Lavalee is..." his mom didn't finish what she was saying and he smiled weakly

"What's the problem? Where did that come from?" his uncle asked

"Jace picked it up then. He is looking for the owner, it turns out to be Lavalee." His mom answered and he sighed

He's sure that Lavalee won't come back anymore.

She came to Seryphil for the necklace he found and as soon as she gets it, she won't come back to Seryphil anymore.

After packing up his things, he carried it outside and mounted it inside the compartment.

His Mom was walking behind him along with his uncle.

"When are you coming home?" his mom asked

"After her birthday," Jace answered

"Are you going to bring Lavalee here? Or are you coming back alone? Your Dad is coming home for Christmas, I'm sure he'll be interested to meet the woman you like." His mom suggested with a smile

"Maybe next time, Mom," Jace said and closed the compartment of his car

"Bye, Mom," Jace said and kissed his Mom's cheek

"Be careful, Jace," his mom said and Jace nodded

Jace rode his car and drove out of their subdivision, but not without saying goodbye to his mother and uncle.

While driving, he thought of what he knows about Lavalee, how long has it been, and how many things they've been through since the first time they met.

He first met Lavalee as a spoiled and hardheaded heiress who looks like she doesn't care about anyone apart from herself but then, as he gets to know her more, he realized that everything was just her defense mechanism.

Lavalee's kind, loving, understanding, and selfless.

She's too selfless to the point that she became selfish of her pain and suffering, that she's too afraid to share her pain and worries with others for fear of being a burden to them too.

When he arrived at Lavalee's mansion, he went in and saw Lavalee sitting on the couch.

She's still silent while her friends are talking in front of her but she seems like she's back to her senses.

"Oh, we didn't notice that you're there," Chelsea said when she noticed him and he saw how Lavalee slowly looked at him.

"I'm picking her up." He said

"Oh, right, I almost forgot that you're leaving," Irene said when she realized something

"Bye, Lav," Irene said and hugged Lavalee

"Take care," Jess said when they escorted the two to Jace's car

He opened the door for Lavalee who just waved at her friends and then sat in the passenger seat.

He closed the door and went to the driver's seat, Lavalee who's seated in the passenger seat doesn't seem to say anything.

"I'll take care of her," Jace said and the girls nodded

"Our flight's tomorrow," Chelsea said and Jace nodded before riding the car.

He started the engine and glanced at Lavalee before driving away from the Mansion and out of the subdivision.

"Are you hungry?" Jace asked her

Lavalee just looked at him and blinked twice before returning her gaze front.

Jace sighed because he's not used to Lavalee's silence but he understood that Lavalee's recovering, he noticed that Chelsea, Irene, and Jess acted like nothing's different, maybe that's how they help Lavalee recover from her shock.

He turned to a drive-thru which made Lavalee look at him with a confused expression.

"What do you want?" Jace asked but Lavalee just averted her gaze which made Jace sigh

"Good afternoon, Sir, what's your order?" the man at the counter asked

"An order of spaghetti with fries, large coke, then one caramel sundae, burger, and one medium iced coffee," Jace said

After paying for their order, the man signaled them to go to where they could claim their order.

Jace glanced at Lavalee who's just looking outside the window, he doesn't know what to do.

After taking their order, Jace drove back to the highway.

He placed the paper bag on Lavalee's lap, which made the latter look at her with confusion.

"You can eat if you're already hungry." He said while driving

He kept on glancing at Lavalee because she was just staring at the paper bag as if she's in doubt.

Jace opened the paper bag when they were caught in the traffic and took the cup of iced coffee, he took a straw and placed it in the Iced coffee.

He placed the cup in the space between him and Lavalee when the traffic started moving again.

He saw that Lavalee finally started eating so he pursed his lip to stop himself from smiling.

He glanced again and he saw Lavalee looking at him confusedly, it took him aback when Lavalee opened the burger and placed it in front of him.

"I'm fine," he said but Lavalee didn't remove it so he took a bite and started chewing it.

He glanced at Lavalee and he saw that Lavalee's eyes started to reflect emotions again.

He felt relieved because they no longer looked like blazing fire, Lavalee didn't give him the burger when he tried to take it so he thought that maybe Lavalee was just trying to feed him so he let her.

When they arrived at the airport, Lavalee was eating the sundae while he unmounts their luggage.

Since Lavalee was abducted right after she arrived from Fortazea, Lebraz, her luggage was still in Jace's car.

"Let's go," Jace said and pulled their luggage

They both have one piece of luggage each so it was easy for Jace to bring it all alone.

He took his passport and ticket out, then waited until they boarded the plane.

Even while boarding the plane, Lavalee remained silent in her seat.

Lavalee sat near the window and Jace sat beside her, thanks to the Hanazono family's connections, Jace's seat was assigned next to Lavalee's seat.

Lavalee looked at him in confusion but he didn't mind it.

After the plane took off, he saw that Lavalee's just leaning on the window with her eyes closed.

When he noticed that Lavalee's already asleep, he raised his hand to press the 'flight attendant' button and a flight attendant came to them.

"Yes, sir?" the flight asked with a smile

"A blanket, please," Jace said and the flight attendant left

A little later, the flight attendant arrived with a small pillow and blanket, which Jace accepted.

He wrapped the blanket around Lavalee's body to keep her warm throughout the flight.

"Is that all, sir?" the flight attendant asked

"Yes, thank you," Jace answered and the flight attendant left

He took Lavalee's head from leaning on the window and placed it on his shoulder.

He leaned his head on his seat and closed his eyes, he too has been tired from all the things that have happened, but he wants to make sure Lavalee's fine.

"Aren't they sweet?" one of the flight crew asked

"Gosh, sissy's so lucky~" one of the flight attendants giggled while covering their lips

"It's just that, the woman looks familiar." The flight attendant who spoke earlier said

"What are you looking at there?" their purser asked when he saw them gathering

"They're so sweet, aren't they, ma'am?" one of the flight attendants said

"Isn't that Lady Lavalee?" their purser asked, which took their attention

"The first lady of the Hanazono family, ma'am?" one of the flight attendants asked

"Yes, I didn't know this is her flight." Their purser said and they continued looking at the two people

Lavalee is fast asleep on Jace's shoulder, to support her neck, he placed the small pillow that the flight attendant gave him to avoid the chances of her getting a sore neck after she wakes up from her deep sleep.
