Co-conscious

_Third Person's Point of View_

It was already the 26th of December, Christmas is over and everyone is preparing to celebrate New Year's Eve, and the people in the Hanazono Mansion is no exemption.

"Careful, Summer," Jace warned Summer when she almost slipped while climbing the ladder

"Hime, leave those to us," Fuego told his twin and assisted her down the ladder

"That kind of work is for boys, you can't do that," Samanth blatantly rolled her eyes in response to what her host's twin had said

"That's a misogynistic opinion, Fuego," Lavalee, who heard her brother's words, said and shook her head

"Don't forget that I beat you at target shooting yesterday, Brother," Samantha remarked

"That was just one bull's eye, Samantha," Fuego replied

"But you can't deny that I am better than you," Samantha replied and smirked

"And if you were an enemy, I would've killed you several times because of how slow you are at shooting," Samantha added and rolled her eyes

"Akuma," Frost warned his sister's alter while holding a doll, which very much didn't match well with his dominant and cold appearance

"I'm sorry, brother,"

It was a quick switch, one moment Freia's eyes were red and now it's gray.

They're now facing the emotionally-vulnerable Akiramenaide Array. It seemed that Samantha pushed her out in front because she knew that she'll get scolded for what she had said, especially now that she had nonchalantly mentioned killing in front of Jace, a police officer who's new to their side of the society and is only there because he accepted and chose to support their older sister.

Although, Samantha and Winter are not really convinced and are still skeptical that Jace will easily accept this reality after being someone who makes sure people follow the law and hunt the members of their society with the aim of abolishing its existence, so is Frost.

He only agreed because he saw how Jace could make the ever-so-stubborn Lavalee Flamelinne listen to him and how he makes his sister happy by respecting her choices, so if anything doesn't go well with Lavalee and Jace, they already have the plan to do some damage control before there even is something they can consider a 'damage'.

"It wasn't you, Array," Fuego tapped his little sister's head to comfort her other alter

Array nodded and smiled which relieved them.

Fuego doesn't like the fact that Samantha switches with Freia and Array whenever she knew that she'll get scolded but they can't exactly do anything because the three exist within a body and Samantha can do anything once she takes over.

She can push Freia or Array out in front according to her will as if they are mere pawns at her disposal.

"You alright?" Lavalee asked as she stood next to Jace

"I can't see the difference," Jace replied and Lavalee clasped their hands

"Neither can I before, it took me years of taking care of her full-time to know," Lavalee said

"What do you think of our family?" Lavalee asked and Jace looked at her for a moment before looking back at Lavalee's siblings who are now decorating the garden for the New Year's Eve celebration

"It's unique," Jace said

"You could've just said that it's weird, you know," Lavalee said in a jest but in her heart, she is relieved to hear that Jace didn't say anything bad about her family

"It's not, it's unique, just like you," Jace said and turned to look at Lavalee who smiled

"Thanks," Lavalee said with a smile

"Nee-chama!"

Lavalee and Jace looked at the little girl who was frowning, her grey eyes show how much she wants them to have a distance.

A feeling that even Samantha would like to express.

"Nee-chama!"

Ray hugged her tight and Lavalee looked at their other siblings and Jace, her eyes asking them what brought upon the little one's tears.

"What's wrong, Array?" Lavalee asked and cupped her little sister's face to make her look up

"Nee-chama, please remember that I love you very much," Array said and Lavalee was taken aback when she noticed that the color of her little sister's eyes was a mixture of gray and gold

As if it's a mixture of the color of Freia and Array's eyes.

"Nii-sama, her eyes…" Lavalee looked up to meet her older brother's eyes

"What's wrong?"

Frost sensed Lavalee's confusion from how her eyes looked and immediately approached to check, Fuego and Jace also approached them in worry that something is wrong with Freia.

They were all in shock when they saw how Freia's eyes looked grayish gold.

The young girl in front of them looked so happy and innocent and they couldn't believe their eyes because of what they saw.

It was as if Freia and Array's expressions merged into one single expression that expressed both of their feelings.

"Did she integrate with Array just now?" Fuego asked and his twin shook her head as if answering the question

Integration is when two alters or an alter is mixed or combined with the host, it's one of the ways to treat DID in a way that everything that the alter had; personality, memories, and mannerisms, will be fused with that of the host or fellow alter and will help with the lapse in memories and other disadvantages of having a dissociative identity disorder.

"We're co-conscious right now," Array replied with a sweet smile

Personalities of alters and hosts can be very different, they feel different, and they feel like they have specific eye colors heights, and bodies often causing body dysmorphia, and there are times, such as in cases like Summer Freia's, when alters and host have different eye colors.

Their difference in eye color is then reflected in the current color of their eyes when they are co-conscious.

Co-consciousness is when two personalities of an individual with DID are able to front at the same time.

By being able to front, they are able to see, hear, remember, and feel what the other personality can at that exact moment and they are both able to control the body.

And that is something that they didn't know was possible and can be done by Freia, until now.
