Dumb

It's been two days since Charles' accident. Meng Rong quickly apologized, and Charles waved it off, saying that her apology was uncalled because she didn't really mean to hurt him and that it was inevitable because they were playing and enjoying themselves too much.

Well, when I returned after dropping Charles off at the clinic, they were still playing. Of course, I participated. While the team of the class representative took first place, our team came in second.

The Classes resumed and Charles was absent for the rest of the subjects we share.

I looked around bored, yawning from sleepiness. Right now, we're just waiting for the bell to ring so we could have lunch.

The teacher was absent and we just did some activities then the rest are self-study.

I turned to face our Class Rep when she yelled, "Everyone! Everyone!" Why does she have a serious, dark expression on her face? I scowled, "Fang Xiu said she left her wallet and phone together here. Please tell me if you know something!"

Woah looks like, once more, something went missing.

A few third-year students have recently lost their belongings. From handkerchiefs to wallets containing thousands. Considering how big the school is and how hyper the students are, losing these things is not uncommon.

However, when valuable items started to disappear repeatedly, it became unsettling.

I pointed to Fang Xiu's seat and then to Charles and Jang Wei, saying, "I saw it but it was before I left for the cafeteria."

"I was eating with them." Charles paused before nodding, which caused me to nod in agreement, "Any other things?"

The quietness made Fang Xiu's eyes grow redder and her grunt louder, she look pitiful standing there and holding her bag. I watched her walk near to the Class rep and whisper something.

They called Mr. Shin, our class adviser, to report the incident and somehow resolved it.

The whole class obediently cooperated and didn't raise a fuss when the teacher said, "Okay, put your bags on the table we'll be inspecting." Fang Xiu and the class rep personally searched the bag, but they turned up nothing. The class rep then began questioning each of us individually.

Sadly, despite extensive questioning, we learned nothing. Fang Xiu sobbed as she declared how much money she had and that her father would undoubtedly punish her because he had just purchased her phone. She even yelled that if they returned it to her, she would not hold a grudge against them. I feel bad for her, but I was helpless because I didn't see anything odd.

"Please...if you know something just message me or something, write anonymously or just leave it in the lost and found area. Please," I patted Fang Xiu's back and whisper to her that I would try to ask around. She nodded quietly and her group of friends surrounded her.

"Charles! Are you going to the cafeteria? Let's go together!" Charles let out a grunt after I slapped his back which made me chuckle a bit. I removed my hand and walked by his side closely.

One thing I notice is Charles doesn't like being touched for too long, I don't know why but he flinched and freeze whenever someone touch him.

"...No, I'm going to the library." Why? Eating is forbidden inside the library, how would he eat?

"You'll skip? That's bad for the health!" My mother always nags me about how having a full stomach helps your brain and body to function. A full stomach is equivalent to a good student, or that's what she says.

I watched him hurry away from me and say, "That's none of you...thanks for the offer," how sad. Really, I want to be friends. Do I seem like a bad influence? Or perhaps he simply doesn't want to—no, let's focus on the positive. Maybe I come across too harshly, but there's always next time.

I sigh irritably, "I'm Hungry...where the hell is Shiyu?" before turning around to look in Li Shiyu's classroom.

Zhang Wang Lei rubbed his chin in a groggy manner as he followed his friends to the library. They are expected to make good use of their time to gather relevant research materials, which they will then turn into the teacher the following day.

Normally, Zhang Wang Lei would be active, but right now, he's just so exhausted and sleepy that he can hardly stand.

He yawned and yanked a chair, slamming himself against the seat, and making a loud screeching sound. While the librarian is staring at him sarcastically, Zhang Wang Lei hissed and apologized to him.

"Tsk. Wash your face to wake you up," chuckles their leader Meng Rou as she motions for him to stand up and find their teacher. Zhang Wang Lei approached the teacher and requested permission to leave the library. He returned to his seat, pulled out a pouch, and said, "Look after my bag." They all nodded and then discuss again.

The visit to the bathroom was brief. He simply washes his face before applying baby powder and cologne. He appears revived and fully awake right now. He left after being satisfied and went back to the library. On their table, he noticed one of his team members reading.

Zhang Wang Lei asked, "Where are the others?" the other didn't reply, instead just pointing around the library. Zhang Wang Lei put his pouch back after giving an understanding nod. It's not safe to leave one's belongings alone these days, with cases of missing items frequent,

"So, I'll also look for some materials over there; call me if you need to swap." He said pointing at the nearby History shelves, the other smiled and nodded before returning to reading. Zhang Wang Lei then started to browse aimlessly, opening books with interesting or unique titles, scanning a little before putting it back.

The process continue as he can't come up with a good research material and topic, he did thought and find some but when he think about how vast and complicated it is his hands would automatically put it back.

Almost at the end of their time, Zhang Wang Lei went back and saw the rest of his group sitting. He carefully sit to avoid making screeching noises, "So, you found any?" They all sigh and shook their head. Looks like all of their search is fruitless.

"I found some great topics and materials but...it would be hard conducting the research since when I searched online there's very few results that is actually related to topic. The others are either too vast, too new or too deep for us." This made them quite frustrated. One of the hardest part of research is looking for a good topic and material, one that could give them good grade and would not be too hassle.

They discuss for the remaining time about various things, deviating from their research topics. When the bell rings, all of them stood up and began packing ready to go to their next class.

Zhang Wang Lei was about to leave together with the other when he remembered something, his sister told him to text her about this time of the day to remind her to drink her medicine.

His sister always forget drinking her medicine if not reminded.

"Okay! let's call- huh? Where is it..." Zhang Wang Lei's frown deepen. His head ringing in alarms as he search his body and bag. He can feel his throat getting dryer and dryer as minutes pass by he can't see his phone.

"Shit, where's my phone?!"
