YOU CAN NEVER WIN AGAINST ME!

BRIA

After another nightmare, while I dozed off in the gym when I regained my senses back, I was on the devil's lap with his hands wrapped around me.

I didn't know why and how I got in such an intimate position with him. My eyes took in my surroundings to realise that it was an unfamiliar room where I had never been at.

But by the sombre vibes, grey walls and black furniture in the room, I figured it was his bedroom.

What the fuck was I doing in his bedroom?

I glanced in his way to feel the warmth of his gaze on me, and on the front of his shirt was a big wet patch of my tears.

Suddenly my mind became more aware of how comfortably I sat on his lap. I was trying to find solitude in the arms of the man who was the reason for my every misery.

Those nightmares, the voices of the dead people I had seen recently and the couple I saw with time memory had messed up with my mind.

And he was the only reason for that, and here I was trying to seek his warmth when all he could provide me was sheer coldness and a promise of destruction!

I jumped out of his lap and yelled at him.

"I hate you!"

Not sparing another glance in his way, I ran straight out of his room. I heard the heavy padding of his feet as he tried to chase me, but before he stepped out of his room, he stopped.

I didn't give it a thought and entered straight into my room and, hide my face in pillows, screaming and crying. I didn't realise how long I cried like that when I heard Nora's soft voice calling my name.

I sat up and told her the reason for my distress.

"It's been an m-month Nora. Now I have only... two months left." Words came out of my mouth with a lot of effort.

Her face morphed into sadness, and she pulled me towards her. I hugged her and cried, resting my face on her shoulder while she ran her hand on my back, trying to calm me.

About half an hour later, I was left with no more tears and only emptiness inside me.

I couldn't help but think about the devil and the moment I shared with him. And it bothered me... a lot!

To divert my mind, I asked her, Nora, where is Gabriel? I haven't seen him recently. He promised me that he will bring Adam here for the weekend."

A strange look flashed in her eyes before she masked it. "Oh, he is busy at work Bria. And Adam is also busy in school and his extracurricular activities. Don't worry they will visit you soon."

Why she didn't sound convincing?

I left that topic when Nora mentioned food, and my tummy monster growled in hunger. Nora went downstairs to serve the breakfast, and I skipped to the bathroom to get ready for another day of my short life.

After getting ready, I headed straight to the kitchen with the images from the morning still fresh in my mind. "Ouch", I staggered back when I crashed into someone in the hallway.

"Eyes are given to humans for a purpose!" I couldn't ever mistake that taunting voice for anyone else's.

"Good morning to you too, Camera! Time for the thought of the day. Number one... my eyes are capable of serving their purpose pretty well so you don't have to remind them about it. Number two... you are not a human!" I sassed, getting the pleasure of watching his annoyed face.

"One day I am going to shut that witty little mouth of yours for once and all!"

We both always got in a fight. We were practically the tom and the jerry where obviously I was the Jerry, the cutest!

But today, he looked different, he sounded different. The intensity of hate in his eyes for me seemed on another level.

What did I do?

"Well... good luck with that!" I was in no mood in dealing with him.

A fuse went in my mind. "Where is Gabriel?"

I saw him tensing considerably at my question.

I didn't ask him about his last one-night stand, so why was he tensed like that?

"I asked you a question douchebag. Answer me!"

"I am not obliged to do so!"

He crossed his arms on the chest in an intimidating manner. A hard look was evident in his ocean blue eyes.

"Aah... what the fuck is wrong with you woman?" He literally, cried in pain when I plucked a hair on his arm.

"Tell me where is Gabriel and why he is not visiting me along with Adam otherwise this pain is not even one per cent near to what I can make you go through!"

He was about to lash out at me when I intensified my threat.

"Think twice before you speak! I have a pack full of ready to use wax strips."

He visibly shuddered at the thought.

"Gabriel is busy at work. Adam is busy with school. They will visit you soon" he said in a robotic tone like he has recited it again and again. He was feeding me with the same lie as that of Nora.

"Why do you care?" He asked after some moments with a scrutinising gaze.

"He is not my enemy, Camera. He is my friend! I know he can do anything in his power for me, and so will I! And I want to know what is going on with him. So start talking."

"That's what his mistake was," he said in a low voice that I almost missed it. Before I asked him to repeat his words, he walked away from me.

I stood there dumbfounded, but a weird feeling settled down in my pit.

KING

I was livid, to say the least. I couldn't concentrate on my work because every time I tried, my mind kept running back to her.

The morning that I spent with her had shaken me right from the core. I couldn't explain why though. But it bothered me.... more than necessary!

I could never forget that disgusted look on her face as she stared back at me. As if I was some piece of dirt that she didn't want to put her feet on.

-"I hate you!"-

Wasn't that what I wanted all this time? Wasn't that what everyone thought about me? Then why did it bother me so much when it came from her?

I had to work late at the night to complete my daily targets. The other reason was that I didn't want to face her at the dinner table.

And the fact that I still haven't punished her for going behind my back fueled my anger.

I reached home later in the night only to be greeted by her sprawling form on the white sofa in the living room. For some reason, I was tempted to get a closer look at her, but I forced my legs to head straight to my bedroom.

And just like every other day, sleep was still upset with me. I needed something to let out the pent-up anger within me, and the only way to do it without causing any destruction was to hit the gym.

I didn't realise how long I exerted myself there before I felt her presence. And I hated how I felt it even without looking her way. Her scent was enough to mess with my brain cells!

I ordered her to do a hundred push-ups extra because she spent her time ogling me like every other time, but the brat refused to do so and continued with her daily routine, which only irked me more.

For the next half hour, I couldn't help but keep glaring at her, but she acted nonchalantly as if she didn't feel anything.

Why she didn't feel anything after the previous morning? And why fuck it bothered me so much?

"We will have a dual now." I suddenly annonced taking her off-guard.

"What? Are you serious? I can't fight with you." She said exasperatedly.

"Why?"

"B-because... um.. I..."

"Because you are weak. Right? That's what you are, Miss Maxwell! Admit it. I don't expect anything more from you. You are just a weak, pathetic orphan who spend all her life hiding behind an old man."

A look of pain crossed her innocent face, which morphed into pure rage. She furrowed her black eyebrows, and a crease formed on her forehead. Her eyes were spitting lava at me, and I felt the temperature rose in the room.

Without warning, she charged at me like a tigress. Though I managed to dodge her attack, she took me by surprise there. I was not expecting her to be that fast!

No matter how much she tried, I would punish her today!

After doing her two more advances, I managed to pin her down on the mat. I hovered above her, looking straight into her eyes.

"Quit, Miss Maxwell. You can never win against me!" I smirked at her struggling form beneath me.

"In your dreams, Mister Dickhead." She gritted.

She tried her best to get free from my grip but failed miserably.

"Admit that you are a weak person, and I will let you go unharmed," I said in a low voice.

"Wake up jerkface. I will never admit such a thing until my last breath, because I am not weak." She spat in anger.

-"P-please... d-don't h-hurt her"-

Gabriel's voice echoed in my mind, and I lost it. He wanted me to not hurt her, but now I planned to do just that!
