Grading The Recruits (2)

Silas continued grading the recruits and soon reached the last group. There were five recruits within this group.

The recording of this group of five popped up on the large screen, followed by Silas hitting play.

The recording showed a group of five, walking silently. They had perfect coordination, but no words seemed to have came out of their mouths nor were they using any sign language. It was as they were ninjas that moved through the terrain without making the littlest of noise.

Silas nodded a few times as he graded the five recruits in Skill Efficiency. Seeing Silas nod—this made the five recruits happy, but they were still nervous about their final results.

After he graded them, he sped up the recording as he found nothing noteworthy to be graded on until they discovered a group of four recruits. They hadn't been spotted yet, and seemed to be discussing what course of action they were taking.

The others who watched the recording found it odd that they weren't communicating at all. They didn't know the abilities of the five recruits, leading them to think they just had perfect coordination and knew what everyone's role was.

When the group of four walked past them, they didn't attack. They waited hidden under the bushes, not daring to move a muscle, but when the group of four was about to exit the edge of their vision—the one wearing all black activated his etheric tool on his wrist.

*Click!

A faint clicking sound came from where the four recruits that had passed by were, but it seemed they didn't hear it and continued walking. Once they took their next step,

*Boom!

A golden barrier enveloped the four recruits and teleported them away. Meanwhile, the five recruits who had been hiding in the bushes swiftly left the area.

Silas once again nodded and graded them as the recording kept playing. When he was done, he sped up the recording and continued doing this for every noteworthy thing the group of five did that aligned with what he was grading them on.

Soon, the recording was displayed on the second night of the trial. It was 40 hours into the trial, where the five waited in an octagon-like formation. They were hiding in wait to ambush recruits who were attempting to head up the mountain.

Minutes went by, as they remained there as if they were statuses, until they spotted a woman in a black combat suit, walking towards them with her long beautiful silver hair swinging side to side slightly in coordination with each step.

Once the woman reached the center of their formation, the bulky man ambushed her with his axe swung down from above his head.

The woman sidestepped, but was met with a knife aimed for her ear from the black-clad man. She blocked the attack, and kicked her back leg back and used the force of the kick to flip her body up, where her foot slammed into Lucas's face, knocking him to the ground.

The three recruits hidden behind the trees revealed themselves with their guns pointed at the woman, and fired, but all their shots hit Lucas who was kicked up by the woman to be used a her meat shield.

After the rounds were fired, the bulky man attacked the woman in anger and was quickly dealt with. Once the bulky man was teleported away, the three remaining recruits rained fire on the woman. This led to them being distracted, allowing the woman to kill two more recruits before the last one realized it.

Knowing that he had no chance with the rest of his team being killed, the last recruit gave up, allowing the woman to end him with a single bullet to the forehead.

The majority of the recruits were no longer watching the screen, but were staring in shock at Layla who was the culprit for killing those five recruits. They considered her a monster, a demon.

Silas ignored their gazes and began to read off the grade of the team. "Survival Duration, Grade C. Kill Efficiency, Grade B. Skill Efficiency, Grade A. Kill Count, Grade A with 41 kills. Teamwork, Grade A. Trust, Grade S."

"This team's overall Grade is… B. They had excellent teamwork until the very end, and their trust was top-notch. All I say is for them to improve, so they don't rage over the loss of a loved one. This could lead to the deaths of the entire team." Silas smiled. He believed this team had potential as they showed the best teamwork out of all the recruits this time.

The five were happy they received such a high overall grade—this could be seen by the wide smiles on their faces. Others could only look at them in jealousy for being able to obtain such a high grade.
