[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]
Sitting on a pile of bandit corpses, was a borderline shota by the name of Hans Orsted who was staring at the map of the Central Continent - no, current Central Continent, nodding his head before taking a large bite out of a Hamburger, made from preserved wheat, vegetables, a replacement of pickles and tomatoes and magically preserved meat from a Red Dragon turned into a burger.
"It's a Dragon Whopper. Bigger than the original one, tastier and better-tasting too." Hans said with a full mouth to absolutely no one, not minding the fact that he broke the 4th wall without a stupid punishment some authors make to their MC.
"*gulp*.... Aside from that..... *chomp*... the map's different from what I remember. There's still the Asura Kingdom on the south, and the Strife Zone from the east has been replaced by the Gol DeSilva Alliance of Free Merchants.... Enough useless chatter, I'm taking a journey to the eastern continent."
Why was he going to the eastern continent?
Of course, he just wanted to take away a certain elf so she could become an important asset for him.
'I still wonder what Elfrieda would say and fi about what crazy thing I would definitely do....' Hans thought, gulping the last of his Drago-Whopper and cleaning his hands with magic before fixing his backpack.
He began to rummage through the belongings of the bandits he recently killed, and only found an Asura Coin equivalent of 17,472 Yen. It was enough to spend for new ingredients for his cooking and other supplies.
Seeing that there was nothing useful enough to rummage, Hans began to walk east, not before turning around and inhaling deeply.
"[Breath of the Flame Dragon Saint]!" He yelled, spewing out massive amounts of bright red flames that burnt away all the corpses and the carriages after 30 seconds, leaving nothing but burn marks on the ground. "*cough* that will cover my tracks if something were to happen.
While he began walking to the east, he constantly flipped up a coin to pass time.
Orsted was so lost being under his thoughts that he did not notice a floating castle approaching him from a hundred miles away, but it halted once he stopped moving and turned around.
"....?" Hans narrowed his eyes, and began to use magic to enhance his eyesight and eventually see the castle from the distance. "... I think I might be in trouble."
Blinking his eyes to recover his default eyesight, Hans turned around to try to escape by increasing his speed using magic.
Yet, a fox masked person was already in front of him, putting him to a full stop before he could leap forwards and making him be on full alert.
Hans knew who this man was, he was Almanfi of the Bright, one of Perugius's familiars. What was he even doing here?
"... Child...." Almanfi began to speak, though there was some form of hesitation on his tone. ".... You need to come with us."
Hans shook his head, sending a look of pure distrust towards Almanfi while an intelligent thought came into his mind.
If Almanfi thinks he is a child, then he should try acting like one, right? Maybe it would succeed.
"No way. I'm not coming with some stranger!" He spoke, crossing his arms. "What if whoever sent you would eventually eat me alive with enough pampering? Mother always told me not to trust them, you know!"
Almanfi took a step back, and his hesitation was becoming clearer by the moment. This child is wearing tattered clothing with several stitches on it, but why?
Whoever raised him must already be dead, and he was left becoming a wandering orphan.
'Lord Perugius, must I really do this?' Almanfi thought, before his summoner sent him a message.
{I have a new order for you, Almanfi. Observe the child, defend him from threats as much as possible. Do not let him see you unless it is needed.} Perugius spoke through their mental link, and acknowledging his order, Almanfi stepped aside and left in the blink of an eye, while at the same time, the moving fortress Chaos Breaker began to move somewhere else.
An event like this left Hans slightly dumbstruck, scratching his silver hair and sighing out loud.
At least he was gone for a while.....
"Mmh.... I guess I need new clothing soon enough. I'm getting tired being in the same outfit all of the time like some protagonists...." Hans spoke out, continuing his journey towards the east.
