The Tribe of Bears-3

After a bit of walking Roy began to jog, I was thankful I used to take horse riding lessons if not for that then I would have fallen a long time ago.

I had tied the animal skin to my body and held the basket with both hands. -Is this what it feels like to be a animal?- I thought to myself, Roy's warmth radiated off his body into my thighs. It was comforting, yet at the same time nerve racking.

It took a while but we finally came up into a village, three small bear cubs that ran up to me and Roy. They squeal a animalistic squeal looking up at me, Roy curled his lip in warning towards the cubs. Their mother beckoned them back looking at me warily, she was rather small but snatched up her cubs and ran to her male.

I felt the hostile stares of the people, each and everyone had the ears of animals, most of them pinned back in aggression. My eyes roamed through the crowd nervously and looked down into the giant mane of Roy.

I tried my best to keep my composure, my withdrawal symptoms were very noticeable now. I wished I could just get my hands on a cigarette then maybe I wouldn't be so anxious.

"You there Lion!" A man dressed in entirely to many animal skins came out of his hut. He was a older guy but, his muscles showed years of hard labor.

Roy calmly looked to the man's direction, the man's mate poked her head out of the hut but the male that was already outside brought her back into the hut.

"You dare bring a outsider in this tribe, after I let you stay here? Do you think my hospitality is a joke?" The bear male growled lowly in a threatening manner I shielded my eyes not wanting to look the man in the face.

Roy sat down cause if me to slid off his back, I took a few stumbles back but managed staying up on my feet.

When I looked back up the lion had disappeared and Roy stood there in front of me casting out a protective hand.

"Its a female what did you want me to do chief? Leave her out there for the rogues?" He spat a low growl emitted from him, his ears barely visible they were pinned so far back.

"I would like a warning you were bringing a outsider! That's what I wanted you to do!" The bear male said scowling at Roy.

"I let you live here in hopes you would chose one of our females as your mate! Not go out and find a scrawny rogue!" The male hissed venomously. I cringed in fear and took a small step backwards.

But Roy took a step towards the man in a fit of anger.

"My species may be endangered, but not to the point I will settle with some stuck up bear! Besides I haven't even took this woman as my mate! She is lost and needs to find her tribe I would think that this lowly tribe would let her stay even for just a little while. But the hostility tells me your more cold hearted then I thought." Roy glared a harsh glare and looked as if he were going to pounce on the male at any given moment.

The bear looked Roy up and down and clicked his tongue.

"I want you out of this Tribe within 5 days, if you are still here by the night of the fifth day I will personally chase you out."

Roy huffed at the man with a glare that shot right through him, the crowd watched warily keeping their distance. Though at the same time ready to defend their chief if needed.

Roy turned to me and grabbed the basket out of my hands gently, and set it in-front of the chief.

The male looked down at the meat and then back at Roy but stayed silent.

"Since I was nice enough to go wash meat for you, would you do me the favor of providing this female clothes?" Roy said changing his tone into more of a professional tone, I nervously played with the black strands of my hair, a old nervous habit I always seemed to go to.

The bear huffed and looked down at me, his mate looking out the rock door way again watching curiously.

" I suppose so."

He turned and looked at his mate, treading to her grasping her hands in his whispering something barely heard.

She smiled warmly and headed back inside, and then came out again and walked towards me and Roy.

Roy stepped out of her way watching the woman's every move. She came towards me and handed me a bag, she gave a gentle smile as I took the bag nervously.

"These are some clothes, I put some extra stuff in there as well dear." The older woman grabbed my hand gently, and looked me in the eyes her ears pricked forward. Though her ears were different from the others they were longer and pointy. Rather than round like a bears.

"If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask me. I don't know your situation but when I was younger I lost my tribe as-well."

I nodded respectfully still uneasy, I looked to Roy who noticed my gaze and just nodded with a faint smile.

"Y-yes ma'am, thank you so m-much."

I got the sentence out to the friendly woman, she just smiled and looked to Roy.

"I haven't known you long, but I feel like you had good intentions bringing her here. But you have to realize the stress my spouse is under. I'll talk to him tonight to see if he will change his mind, you are a good male Roy." Her voice sang out like a song bird, a enchanting sweet tone to it but Roy just meet her gaze and opened his mouth.

"I'm taking her to the Deer tribe soon, to see if their missing a female. She doesn't seem to remember much and even talked about a place I haven't heard of. So I won't be living here much longer, no need to worry yourself over it."

"Well, I wish luck upon you two." The woman smiled gently before returning to her spouses side.

I looked to the male beside me,

Roy made a motion for me to follow him, before turning and walking off. I jogged to catch up.

"I'm sorry, I g-got you kicked out." I said in a small voice looking down at the ground as I slowed to walking.

Roy slowed his pace to match mine, he moved his hand and patted my head.

"It's okay! I wasn't planning on staying much longer, most of the females here are annoying." He said sticking his tongue out in distaste.

"Still…" My hands shook slightly as I walked and then I just remembered. I need a cigarette so bad, I looked at Roy I don't think they would have anything like that.

I looked at the houses that lined the side of the path, they looked so bare, and made of stone and clay. There is no way I was in my timeline, I have yet to see any modern thing yet. I sighed, and thought to myself feeling a bit sick.

-I have to be careful mentioning my world, if they figure out…I could be killed.- a scowl formed on my face my stomach lurched about I was guessing the withdrawal from my cigarettes were they cause.

"Eh? What's wrong?" Roy noticing my scowl looked at me with slight concern, I realized then I was getting way to comfortable with him and took a few side steps away from him and glanced at him nervously.

"I…uh…just feel tired that's all." I said feeling slightly nauseous.

"You sure?" He asked looking at me again, I averted my gaze and focused on something trying to push down my nausea.

"Yeah I'm-" a metallic taste filled my mouth, I stopped in place squatted down putting my head on my knees.

-I think I'm about to throw up…- I groan in my mind, I hear the sound of Roy's worry. But I ignore it and focus on making my mind blank.

After a while the feeling subsides and I slowly lift my head up, and take a deep breath.

"Hey, hey, hey are you alright? What's going on?" Roy was bent down face to face with me. Our noses almost brushing, my face flushed as I shot up and took a few steps back.

"I-I-I-I'm go- fine! I'm fine! Just feeling nauseous!" I said stammering about stumbling on my words, Roy stands up and looks me dead in the face with concern.

"Are you pregnant?"

"EHHHHHH!?! NOOOO!" I wave my hands frantically in the air shaking my head as I do.

"Then you ate something bad?" He approaches me in visible concern, reaches out to grab me.

"Here let me carry you home, I'll fetch the tribes doctor." He says almost grabbing me but I dodge, my face as red as a tomato.

"No! I'm fine! I-I-I'm like this a lot I'll get small nauseous spells randomly. I'm fine! Really!"

He pauses with his hand in the air, a look of concern on his face.

"Are you sure? I can still get the doctor…"

"Yes, Roy I-I'm sure." I said with a nervous smile anxiety gripping a hold on my heart.

Looking a bit defeated Roy opens his mouth.

"Are you sure I can't carry you?"

"Yes I can walk, l-let's get going."

Roy nodded and gave one last concerned glance and began walking.
