An all-powerful sword

Mesedi's hand closed in to pull her back, but Victarine gestured him to stay put.

Keeping eye contact with the dragon, she approached confidently, maintaining her noble regalia. She would've never dared do something like this with another wild animal, but this dragon felt different.

"Don't worry," Savine said. "He'll sniff you, then try to lick you. His tongue might scrape your skin a bit, but he'll learn not to try that after hurting you once."

Victarine would normally never believe that an animal could be so smart after just being born, but seeing the glint of wisdom in the dragon's eyes, she couldn't help but feel convinced.

She huffed once and leaned down to the dragon's level and offered her hand. Excitedly, he smelled it a couple dozen times before calming down somewhat. Savine let her grasp loose and the dragon approached Victarine.
