Hayford tucked her in bed, avoiding her eyes as much as possible. He bid her good night and left her room, switching off the light and closing the door. He was now feeling guilty. Guilty for not thinking before speaking.

He had never had a hard time making a decision. He had always been firm in going by the 'no feelings attached' rule with his flings. And he always won, because he had never developed any feelings for any of them.

So why was this any different? Why was he even thinking of love? Why the hell did those words even come from his mouth? What mess had he landed himself into?

He tossed in the bed. Now he was sure it was from the heat of the moment that made him spew such nonsense. At that particular moment, he couldn't control himself. He couldn't resist the temptation of her alluring eyes and cute soft lips. And her responsiveness fuelled his lust and perhaps made him say all those things which he was sure he never meant any of them.
