The wild weather

Gloomy weather with clouds scattered in the ether. Seemed like there would be a cloudburst on that day. Maybe because of the heavy sunshine recently. Vacation already took place and everyone was in a jovial manner enjoying their break with a couple of people. Vicky visits a shopping complex holding a cold face as usual. Suddenly his phone starts vibrating and slowly he takes that out in a neglecting way.

"Hey Dad, wassup?"

"I'm wondering how my son didn't contact me even after getting holidays!"

"Oh, come on Dad! I thought you might have been busy so you didn't contact me either."

"See, now you are giving my words back to me."

"Of course."

"Whatever, tell me when are you coming?"

"Umm, when am I co…", while his conversation was going he notices Verona waving at him. Somehow his eyes can't stop gazing at her.

"Hello? Are you there?"

"Yea-yeah. I'm here, I'll call you back in a while." saying this Vicky cuts the call. He waves back at her and soon she hops into him.

"Is it a coincidence every time or do you seriously follow me everywhere?"

"Well, I do follow but this one is a coincidence," says Verona raising her brows.

"Hmm, I see."

"Umm, if you don't mind can you spend your time with me until you are here?"

Vicky gives a tempered look squeezing his eyes.

"Only if you want to."

Vicky thought he would say no but somehow he couldn't.

"Fine."

Verona starts to jump with joy. She does a bunch of shopping while he only buys a T-shirt for him. They continue walking and she keeps on talking. Suddenly Vicky's voice feels nervous.

"You say you love me right?"

All of a sudden Verona's lips get dry and she stops getting blank. She keeps looking at him with wide-open eyes. All she could hear was her breath coming out of her mouth.

Swallowing the spittle she finally utters "Yes, yes I do."

"Well, do you think you can tolerate me?"

"I've been doing that since the day we talked."

Vicky looks at her with affection getting amazed.

"You know what, I don't use to be the same every time. I change every moment."

"It's okay if you keep on changing. I and my love for you won't change, I promise!" says Verona with a warm smile.

Jade comes out to buy some stationery. Being a dendrophile he explores nature enjoying psithurism. He feels as if he's arcane of nature. He's been playing all around. After his legs got tired he sat on a bench and as soon he got seated the first thought that came to his mind was Rieka. He started tallying every beautiful element around him with her. The tiny red flowers were reminding him of her crimson lips, the blue sky with dark clouds were reminding him of her sparkling eyes having long lashes, the black soil was like her black curls, and the bushes of grass were like her bangs hanging on her forehead, the falling leaves were like her delicate ears and the colorful butterflies were like her wearing colorful dresses. He gets lost in her thoughts and all of a sudden he feels as if someone familiar to him were passing by. Something was striking him from inside but he couldn't get what was that exactly.

In a glimpse, the sky turned darker and it started to rain slowly. The environment started shading itself by getting into its dark shades.

Vicky kept staring at her after knowing how true her love was.

"Come, it started raining. You'll catch a cold." Says Verona pulling Vicky's arm.

"Verona. If I ask you to stay right here with me, will you?" says Vicky holding back Verona's arm.

Verona drops everything she held just a second ago and looks into his eyes rising her head and saying, "I will stay wherever you ask me to."

"Are you sure that you will love me the same forever?" says Vicky gripping her arm even tighter.

"I've always loved you and will love you no matter what." Says Verona staring into him with her wet eyes.

"What if I cheat on you someday?"

After listening to this she starts blinking and says, "If you hold my hand like this forever, I won't let you go anywhere."

Vicky leaves her hand and hugs her tightly saying, "I won't leave you, no matter what."

Verona cannot believe all this happened for real. She starts to cry holding him saying, "I have always loved you with all my heart but when I used to be ignored by you, it was hurting but I always had a hope that someday you'll know, and finally today, after so long you knew it."

"Maybe I ignored your feelings, but not you," says Vicky holding her shoulders.

"I love you! I love you so much."

Vicky slowly moves his hands around her neck and comes closer, Verona closes her eyes feeling his love and then the rain starts to be heavy. Their first kiss happens in that stormy weather.

Jade doesn't move from that bench, he feels as if something's eating up from inside. The slow pouring starts and slowly his mother comes into his thoughts. All the laughter, the affection, the love he had with his mother. The sudden demise of her in front of his eyes. The empty home where everything got faded. Everything that happened years back was getting projected in front of his eyes in those droplets. He felt like his mother is calling him back as if she came back for him waiting in their home. In a turn of a second, he started running in search of his home and this while the rain got heavier.
