"Hey, big brother...." A familiar voice called out to James while he was deep in thought.
About ten meters away from James, there stood a handsome boy about 5 foot 9 inches with dark black hair. With every step he took, a peaceful aura swept through the place.
His bright aura and presence seemed to be the charm that continuously drew in the gazes of practically every female on the streets.
That would have been the only answer for this phenomenon if it had not been the large greatsword on his back which exuded a bloodthirsty aura.
The size of the weapon was not proportionate to the young boy who looked to be in his late teens.
This handsome boy just happened to be Marcus. With the way he addressed James, it was only natural for people who had their focus on him to turn to James. That was practically the whole street with the attentiom he garnered.
The people on the streets were once again shocked to find a young man with a blindfold on.
What was most shocking was that this peculiar individual happened to avoid the notice of practically everyone on the streets and without the presence of Marcus, his presence would have been ignored.
He gave off a presence that looked dull compared to Marcus' but upon further inspection, all one could come out with was....nothing.
The presence of the young man who also seemed to be in his late teens was heavy and murky upon closer inspection. This aura was such that if one didn't focus on him, one would ignore him as a regular person if it were not for his exceptional looks.
James looked at Marcus as he did not expect him to refer to him in such a manner. As a precaution and means to make it easier for James, Bella divined the Kingdom with the most number of talents to provide enough information for James and prevent transport issues.
With this sorted out, it was easier for Marcus to arrive at James' location without having to go through any transport complications.
'Hmmm, he received it already? I didn't expect him to get it this early. It seems the future is deviating from its course bit by bit.' James thought as he stared at the greatsword behind Marcus' back.
"Hahaha, Junior Brother." James replied to Marcus as he decided to go along with what Marcus had in mind.
"It seems you have taken my advice on giving the accorded respect to your elders. You have done well heeding my advice. This is a good sign of mental maturity. Just been in my presence and having contact with this elder, your manners and bearing have shot through the roof." James said as he rubbed his chin with nonexistent facial hair as he gave Marcus his "wise" counsel.
"Oh. Thank you, oh great elder for being so magnanimous to a pesky brat such as me. Your empowering words of counsel will guide me towards the light." Marcus shamelessly replied to James as they showcased who had the thicker skin.
One will be shocked to find out that these two boys didn't know themselves in the previous week. After a single encounter in a day and after swapping contacts, this two had become the closest of friends.
Zero Evolution Online provided the opportunity for Marcus to temporarily let go of his responsibilities as he could live the way he liked without being under the constant scrutiny of the public eye.
With no one to impress and no standard to live up to, this new world presented the perfect opportunity for an individual such as Marcus, whose innate desire was to live unfettered.
Just getting the time to spend that time with someone who could be said to have similar aspirations was bound to open him up and could therefore be the only explanation for this new synergy between him and James.
' I still can't believe he received it. That sword is enough proof that he has. With his newfound power, the completion of the tower is just about a matter of time. The only obstruction might be the world boss. With the spontaneous characteristics of a dangerous level dungeon, I have the feeling that one cannot be fully prepared for something of that caliber.' James thought as he stared at Marcus' lean structure which carried the giant sword on his back.
The difference in size between Marcus and the sword was quite huge. This will prompt the question of how Marcus was able to swing such a monster. This further just proved the point of how extraordinary Marcus was.
"Okay. Now back to business. This is all the information I have about the project we are about to undertake." James said as he narrated everything concerning the tower and the world boss to Marcus.
" I will like your opinion about the matter" James said to Marcus.
This might not be obvious, but James appreciated Marcus' presence here. Marcus had the chance to join his father's guild.
The Supreme Priest, a man of his caliber, will be able to distinguish between an opportunity that if capitalized on, could change the current situation of any organization, faction, or family.
No matter how much Marcus was fed up with the weight and responsibilities of his relationship with his dad, he valued their familial relationship.
Just having the thought of possibly joining James' guild due to his intuition or having a dungeon test run was already much appreciated by James.
With Marcus' position and relationship with his father, in a guild created by his father, one could very well determine the resources his status in the guild will grant him.
But this did not make organizations, factions, and families at the top of the real world invincible in the game.
Apart from wealth and connections, the most important factor considered is the availability of information.
As establishments that have had the pleasure of being at the top for many years, the amount of information that has been gathered over all those years could very well be unquantifiable.
After years of trial and error, the skill of information gathering has been continuously perfected. This could be the only explanation on how these establishments gain information that has not been made public.
This was a good thing for these establishments. But with every good thing camd its bad side. The knowledge of these establishments hoarding massive troves of information was not foreign to individuals who happen to be in the lower class of society.
In the past having that knowledge would not change shit since one did not have the resources to change their circumstances.
Zero Evolution Online might work on the "Might Is Right" rule but it provided opportunities that could be capitalized on by anyone to change their fate of being at the lower hierarchy of the social ladder.
These opportunities if capitalized on could change the weakest man into a terrifying assassin or scout who could make the lives of individuals of the highest hierarchy hell.
The information about the world boss was bound to spread due to the presence of all these factors. These establishments would not be able to cover up that information for a long time.
"Alright. From the information, you have given me, we have two options which will give us both unimaginable rewards. First of all, we have an S-class quest which will grant an unimaginable amount of exp which will raise our levels by great strides among other rewards."
" Secondly, we have a world boss which is tied to a dungeon. The first person or party to clear a dungeon of such difficulty is bound to receive unimaginable benefits."
"From a perspective of priority, it can be argued that the world boss fight has more importance and might grant more rewards than the S class quest. But from a perspective of logic, an S-class quest is bound to be a tad less difficult than a world boss fight of such magnitude and the most logical thing to do is clear the one with lesser difficulty. The rewards from such an endeavor might even provide opportunities that can make the world boss fight a bit easier." Marcus concluded his analysis after piecing every piece of information he received from James.
"We also don't have any prior engagement with a dangerous level dungeon, the best thing to do is wait for others to attempt it to provide us with more information."Marcus chipped in once again.
" *Cough**Cough* I have something to tell you. I have had an interaction with a dangerous level dungeon and somehow cleared it successfully. I didn't mean to hide it...." James said as he rubbed his head sheepishly.
James did forget to inform Marcus. James might have expressed varying emotions after his reincarnation but that inborn pride and indifference remained.
The interaction with the goblin lord might have had a momentous impact on him by reminding him of the wicked ways of the world but that was all.
The impact was not great enough to continuously weigh on his mind, unlike other players who held him in admiration or hauled curses at him depending on how they felt about his feat of clearing a dangerous level dungeon.
" Oh, Shit!! Are you the player Atlas?" Marcus said as he looked at James in shock.
