Accident

Guihu Luixing didn't know he just made Hector even more determined to train harder in order to not be left behind.

After training, Guihu Luixing went back to his room. He was going to breakthrough, so he needed to prepare.

Different from the breakthrough of the Qi Interaction Realm, the breakthrough of the Qi Gathering Realm only had one method.

The cultivator, now resistant to Qi, had to make themselves able to internalise the Qi, store it in their bodiesq and use the stored Qi anytime they wanted.

Trying to store Qi in one's cells without becoming resistance to Qi adverse effects would cause one to be "poisoned" by Qi, resulting in various forms of illnesses and deformation. That was why the Qi Interaction Realm was so important.

Trying to do so with a weak body, would cause it to simply irreversibly twist the living being in the best case. In the worst case, they would simply explode. That's why one needed to pass through the Body Enhancing Realm.

Basically it was the process of one becoming resistant to a poison to a point one can handle the poison without protection. Then they would be able to ingest the poison in order to use it as their own reseves of energy, more easily manipulated than external energy.

Of course, that only applied to being born without cultivation. Many species were already born with some level of cultivation, being naturally immune to Qi's adverse effects.

The breakthrough method was simply successfully gathering gathering, without losing control even if unconscious, of enough Qi to rival ten Qi Stones.

Although that seemed too little, that was about enough energy to totally destroy a house. Qi Stones had much more energy a mortal could believe. That's why they're incredibly dangerous to mortals and swallowing one would normally lead to death.

Arriving in his room, Guihu Luixing found Dark Moon sleeping on his bed, where he left her.

"Dark Moon." He woke her up "I'm going to start breaking through now. If you want to stay, make sure to stay quiet, if want to play, please go outside."

"Kon!" the fox answered.

It seemed she had no intention to leave. Guihu Luixing didn't care either way, he trusted Dark Moon.

He moved towards his cultivation mat and sat down.

He then took out ten Qi Stones from his storage, the last ones he had left and formed a small pile in front of him.

The Qi present in the environment naturally had different composition, depending on the location.

In a lake, near the ocean or in a snowy place, Water Qi was more abundant than the others, for exemple.

In a place that was very hot, was dry and very sunny, or even a place very close to an active volcano, would have a great abundance of Fire Qi, in comparison to other elements.

In the surroundings and inside of the Ghost Fox Valley Sect, the Yin and Dark Qi were very abundant. Earth, Wood and Water elements were in higher concentration. All the other elements were very less abundant. The Fire and Light elements were almost not present.

For Guihu Luixing, who used all the elements, the lack of some elements in the environment was a problem. That's why he would absorb the Qi inside the Qi Stones.

Qi Stones were formed when Qi was concentrated for a long period of time. When there's a lot of different Qi elements in the same place, with the passage of time, other elements are attracted to the area. When the elements reach a certain concentration, they start to form Qi Stone deposits.

This naturally affected sects that were established for a long time in certain locations, but really powerful sects had their way to control this phenomenon, while the others had to migrate to other regions when the Qi balance changed.

Qi Stones, being composed of all elements, were near perfectly balanced in their composition, possessing all elements in abundance.

This made the Qi Stones a perfect tool for Guihu Luixing use in his breakthrough.

"Let's start."

Guihu Luixing took a Qi Stone, held it with both of his hands and started to control the Qi inside of it.

It was incredibly difficult. It was as if he was trying to separate two powerful magnets that were stuck together.

After many tries, he finally managed to attract a portion of the energy, however, it was only the beginning of his plight.

Once the energy entered his body, it started to wreak havoc, as if trying to break the cage that was trapping it. The odd part was that even though it managed to injury him, he felt no pain.

Once again he realised how dangerous the Six Senses Method breakthrough was. Even though not all the energy of the Qi Stones left them after ingestion, inevitably some did. Thinking how he ingested four Qi Stones and imagining the danger he was in, he became covered in cold sweat.

After some time, Guihu Luixing got the hang of controlling the energy inside of him. Instead of trying to lock the energy somewhere, he needed to keep it flowing in his veins, allowing it to travel through his body.

But as more and more energy flowed inside him, the more difficult he felt controlling it.

After completely absorbing a single stone, he felt like he could lose control anytime. He had nine more to go. If things continued like this, he would fail the breay, and the consequences would be severe.

Guihu Luixing basically had to control thirteen types of different energies inside of him, while people usually only had to control up to five, most of the time only used two or thee elements. This showed how much more difficult his breakthrough was compared to others.

Guihu Luixing started to think about different methods to control Qi. No method he could think seemed to be able to solve the problem. Suddenly he remembered the difference he felt after he underwent a session of chanting the Primordial Soul Mantra.

Immediately, he decided to go for another session. He didn't know if his soul had already recovered from the previous session or not, but if he didn't do anything, he would fail his breakthrough.

Calming himself, he started to chant the mantra, completely forgetting that Dark Moon was there.

As soon as she heard the mantra, Dark Moon unconsciously curled herself in a comfortable position and started to meditate.

Unknown to both of them, a certain soul, that was in the middle of the process to become a ghost, was also hearing the mantra and entered into a trance.

The situation continued gor a good while. The vibration was intensifying but it didn't hurt as much as the previous day.

However an unexpected situation occurred.

While the pain was increasing, Guihu Luixing's focus was diverted for a small amount of time. The energy of the Qi Stones that he absorbed, as if finding an opportunity, escaped his control and started, once again, wrecking havoc inside him.

He now was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

If he stopped the mantra in order to control the Qi, he wouldn't increase his control and would obviously fail his breakthrough, bringing disastrous consequences for his future.

If he didn't stop the mantra and let that amount of Qi run amok inside him, he might die even before he ended the session.
