Time Skip part 2

On weekends he still did his morning routine Mental and physical training. He wasn't a complete machine there were days he took of but those were rare and far between. He would slack off after his training maybe setting apart an hour for a meeting or two if it was really important.

His intense training schedule that heavily focused on building mental defenses was paying off he had reached the state where he wasn't worried about anyone getting in his head.

Building the defenses was difficult at first the first month he focused on the immediate surroundings of the cabin the smoke that causes fear small stuff like that, but then he had an epiphany and he started building a simple outline it took 12 hours of constant meditating but he decided that his mental space would work in layers at the core was his main mental palace, He had only managed to design two layers outside of the defenses he had directly outside his mental palace.

The first layer was vast void hard to see hard to navigate but if someone could navigate through they would find the void surrounding an image of an island waves of black water crashing against jagged cliffsides The island being the only way to go deeper into Damiens mental space to exit the void you need to find the exact point of entry or the intruder would find themselves crashing into the jagged rocky terrain surrounding the island but even if you reach the shore correctly.

The island itself was designed to give the intruder a false sense of security as if they have overcome his mental barrier, when you step on the beach you see a majestic floating door with a staircase leading from the middle of the beach. Shaped up to look like an obvious trap though it is the only way to get to his memories. The rest of the island filled with traps and monsters.

This door would lead you to the second layer. The second layer was a space that resembles an infinite staircase But there is a door at the top of every stair case walking through the door does nothing but lead you back into the infinite staircase, leaving the option to walk back through the door you just came walk up the stairs in front of you walk up the stairs to your left or your right or each with a door at the top of its own staircase the only way out is to walk up specific staircases and open specific doors in a specific pattern if you open doors that do not fit the pattern it resets if you reset it three times you are locked out.

If you are locked out you're left Infinitely wandering this layer of Damien's mental defense until he free's of course you could head back down to the first layer if you remembered the exact pattern you used to enter it but He Had also managed to add unexpected surprises in this layer of defenses some doors that didn't fit the pattern would spawn monsters that would attack intruders some staircases spawned simple traps.

Though not every wrong door spawns a monster or a trap if he made it like that a smart intruder might be able to figure out the correct path by figuring out which paths and doors did not have traps and monsters it was designs to give particularly smart and overconfident intruders the illusion that they were making progress figuring out the pattern.

Even if someone was strong and smart enough for their mental probe to last long enough to make it to past the first layer even the strongest smartest person would hopefully stumped by the second layer.

If Damien was locked down and tortured for days or weeks maybe someone could figure out how to get past his first 2 layers but still getting past his final defenses would be the most difficult. His most violent ideas were used to make Mental defenses surrounding the cabin at the core or his mental space. A wall of Fire with only one path cloaked in illusion as the safe path, several fake illusions of safe paths that mimicked, Booby Traps set everywhere, poison tipped arrows shooting from specific spots, Axe's set on timer that swing down if you don't find the right timing, Smoke that invoked fear, despair and various psychedelic effects emanating from the trees, He'd even managed to Modify Evil dead to rise and attack intruders with an array of superhuman abilities the only way to stop them is to use a special phrase, An intruder would need to be able to fight an army while dismantling hundreds of traps and seeing through every illusion while fearful, paranoid and tripping.

After 8 month's The defenses were shaping up to be impressive, impossible to ignore and increasingly unpredictable. 

Though he was still humble he was proud of what he had built but he understood that Those really powerful Archmagis and legends of old could probably find ways around his defenses and failing that just destroy his mind. So even though he had all those defenses in the cabin he build several contingences, He built a false memory location when you first enter the cabin you see an illusion that it is empty, once you get past the illusion you see shelves and file cabinets The shelves filled with books and each of the books made up a single memory A few real, most fake, He hadn't been great at making fake memories so there weren't that many fakes.

The file cabinet was filled with disorganized memories all the import stuff wouldn't be there but jumbled up enough to seem random. Whoever had infiltrated his head would assume that he had spent all his time focusing on his defense's only managing to organize the memories on the shelf. Though the file cabinets were loaded with lethal traps if someone was intent non finding something and sorting through the random memories they'd fine more than they bargained for.

His real memories filled with sensitive data of S.H.E.I.L.D. and of his family/his friends, the loric, the gods, magic, and the future they were all stored away in his real memory database in the basement.

The door to the basement was covered in an invisible rug just a plain wooden floor removing the rug brought you to a combination lock. One that you only had three tries or it locks you out having to reset through the entire process. Once you entered the basement you would see a laptop where the evil book was supposed to be stepping directly in front of the laptop would set of a pressure plate bomb. Unless you knew how to disarm it a switch under the ladder.

The Bomb going off would lock down his body completely. Putting him into a coma like state but he would slowly recover over several days but the intruder would get nothing. He thought hard about putting that contingency in but he decided in the event he was in that kind of danger someone that close to accessing his memories he would just have to hope and trust that his family friemnds and allies would protect him.

If the intruder managed to get past all his defenses and contingencies The passwords for his memories was his last hope hidden in specific memories key words and phrases could be used to unlock memories but since you need the memories to find out the words and phrases unless Damien gave access to the memories they would be safe.

It sounds like a lot but seven months of hard work minimum of 2 hours a day spent on organizing his defenses. he felt prepared. He had one final contingency plan he planned for but he hadn't yet implemented a full back up drive hidden in the ground of the basement.

In the event that someone completely destroyed his mental palace destroyed every memory destroyed every record erased or if someone destroyed the laptop. Someone would only need to use the drive to reboot his system though he hadn't completely figured out a way to do it unconsciously. Maybe like a regularly scheduled update built in the laptop to make sure his memories where always running smoothly.

For now, He was pretty sure he had enough strength to get by Even though He would still build more defenses he would not play around with protecting his thoughts he would always be trying to Improve his defenses.

He still had 3 years and 4 Months Until He would go to Hogwarts or ilvermorny. Before that time, He Had an outlined a rough plan, Inside of the next Two weeks he'd meet Number Three and Number Five. For Number Three he was Planning to give him the exact same treatment as Number Six and Number 9. An Evacuation Plan, Papers for a new Identity, Level 8 Clearance for his cepan if he decided to join S.H.E.I.L.D., and a few extra resources to make them a harder to catch by the mogs. Such as the mog detector Sandor was working on.

Number five He would be Inviting him back to live with him back in New York. All of his problems started at The Island that his Cepan would be taking him too soon.

If he was able to convince five's cepan to let Five stay none of the other loric would be able to come to swift tower until they officially decided to cancel the charm but to make sure he didn't go down his original path it was worth it. Damien also hoped the last little bit of the amphisbaena meat will be able to cure his cepan but his cepan is much older than the others who knows how long that will last even if it does work.

At least this time around five will have people around if his cepan does pass away. Plus, Knowing what happened in the books Damien felt like he deserved a bit of happiness Not the Pretty and fake stuff that was used to manipulate him when he was indoctrinated by Ethan.

A few weeks swiftly go by Damien continues his regular routine.

Meeting Johan Three's cepan went as well as can be expected. He did pretty much the same thing Katrina did minus the running away accepted their help but denied joining S.H.E.I.L.D. 

Sandor finally finished up the mog detector but couldn't figure out on mass producing it or if it was even possible to mass produce it had some very valuable metal just crafting a few dozen would be an incredibly expensive endeavor but it was worth the money so Uncle Simon green lit the funds.

Janus, Crayton, and Uncle Simon are the ones joining Damien To meet five and his cepan they are flying in one of the Loric- Human modified planes. Janus is a great pilot and has even got the chance to prove it in aerial combat About two months ago though we had encountered a few mogodorian skimmers and completely obliterated them but it also made the mogs more bloodthirsty. That's also part of why they moved the plans to meet both Number Three and Number Five up originally planned give them another year.

Numbers Four, and two are on heavy Observation but the planned approach was still months out. Number 2 wouldn't make her severe plunder on the internet until 2007 another 3 years and number 4 he lead a pretty safe life up until paradise. Though Damien realized that the first two times four moved was because the numbers before him died.

The butterfly effect would mean if he didn't end up moving when one died in the book it said he was 9 years old at a border town in Arizona near Mexico Damien knew by the other loric that the age would be slightly off, But if he didn't move when one died and if Henri was influenced by his surroundings on when and where then if they missed out on finding four in Mexico then odds are the Mogodorians could find him first.

The scene that worried me so much was when four and Henri are at a rest stop and Henri pretend to pick paradise based on a t-shirt even though it's later proven that he went to paradise to meet the greeter Malcolm goode what if he made all their moves in a similar fashion. It would be extremely difficult to track him.

Damien Didn't Plan to approach Seven until he was going to completely unite the Garde she is the most safe out of all them there but sure she was bored and her cepan had but abandoned her duties but she was safe, He did send a few agents to recruit hector the man that gave his life for seven in the original he would be given limited knowledge and he could watch over her to make sure she was safe. Plus he had a sick mother Damien intended to help in the original book of course it had to be discreet can't have a poor village knowing that 'the hector' has a wealthy benefactor, would defeat the whole purpose of a stealth mission.

Hector was given level 7 clearance, he was left with a lot of unanswered questions and Damien didn't think he planned the situation the best even though S.H.I.E.L.D. helped his mother in his reports he sounded a bit dejected that his mission was to stay in his village. He seems to have a bit of a drinking problem same as canon, but Damien feels he will do a good job monitoring for mogodorians.

The only Garde that S.H.I.E.L.D. had eyes on but had no plan of contact was Number Eight, Damien had a team in India and could save him if He's in danger but honestly, He hadn't made a choice if we should save his Cepan Reynolds or let him Meet Devdan. Sure losing his cepan would be tragic with the betrayal of Reynolds girlfriend but when he meets Devdan he transforms through his guidance to the person he was in the books and There is still a chance he might die in the war. Taking away his religion seems sketchy even for a fake prophet like Damien.

Damien thinks about all of this while reading some reading some reports as he looks at himself in the new mirror on his desk, He sends an email to Lexa with a release of a mission that's taking place with the level four's in Africa S.H.I.E.L.D. was involved in helping a rebellion free itself from a ruthless dictator.

They are negotiating terms with the UN but as of right now they overwhelmingly agree that S.H.I.E.L.D. made the right decision in engaging. Especially after the dictator bombed a hospital in an attempt to squash the rebellion. After this S.H.I.E.L.D. will be a steady part of the world's economy. Before we were only making a name for themselves as a private intelligence agency but now they were building a name as real peace seeking organization. Damien hears a knock on his door. He stretchs his shadow out to turn the doorknob and it doesn't work the first two tries but on the third, the door creaks open.

"Hey, we are leaving in an hour do you have your suitcase packed?" Uncle Simon asked as he walked in he walked to the corner of my bed and laid down his feet still on the floor. He is acting like He's exasperated.

"Yeah, all set What's got you down in the dumps?" Simon ask him. He sighs.

"Lexa, she berated me again for having troops in Africa, but we are trying to make a public presence as a security firm and peacekeeping firm if we don't then we won't be able to stop the government when they make their move. we are already hearing whispers here and there about mog pro." He said. He put a lot of emphasis on her name. Damien had begun to wonder if there is something else going on between them, Damien often heard her complain about Simon in this exact lighthearted manner. Damien choose not to respond but instead tossed an envelope at him It's labeled 5.

"Have you read his file?"Damien asks. In his file, Damien put everything that happened in the original story. He nods, His face turns to a grimace.

"Well even if Lexa is bothering you this is what we intend to stop and it's just the beginning," Damien tells him. Kind of a weak pep talk but Damien just wanted to get his mind off Lexa and focus on the task ahead Damien let him sit for a second and turned back to his earlier thoughts about Eight. He had made a point of not checking his status not wanting to lose hope if he didn't make progress at the speed he was hoping ' status' he thinks.
