Wheel

Calvin can only see multicolored specks of light that was stretched into the distance, the kind of scenes you would see in movies when teleporting.

He felt like he was flying through space at unimaginable speeds. The experience was both fascinating yet nauseating as well.

It only took a few seconds before he felt the ground beneath him again. Calvin immediately took deep breaths to calm his beating heart and to decrease the dizziness.

After doing so, he looked around and took in the beginner village that he was in.

The theme of the village resembled a medieval age. It was made with either wood or stones. The road was also paved with stones and the people are wearing normal shirts and pants. A stereotypical scene that one would see in a fantasy world.

Calvin spent some time looking around and taking in the view while flashes of white light shined from time to time in his surroundings and was replaced by players appearing. All of them have pale faces as they resist the urge to puke from nausea.

He walked to one side for now in order to not stand in the way. The very first he did was to explore the system and what it could do.

Using the tutorial provided by the system, he soon fully understood all the functions of the system, at least for now since he doesn't know if there would be more in the future.

After making sure he explored the system thoroughly, he opened his inventory and found only 20 copper coins inside.

Coins are the main currency of this world and there are many types of coins. Going from the lowest to the highest value coins, there are copper, silver, gold, and then platinum. Each upgrade of coins needs 100 of the previous coins, meaning 100 copper coins equals 1 silver coins and so on.

As for the clothes he was wearing, they were normal clothes that doesn't give any boost in stats.

Calvi then opened up the web browser using the system. This is one of the useful functions in the system since players could still use the Internet even in the game.

Calvin then goes to an online roulette website and edited the roulette, putting all the origin class on the wheels.

Ever since he was with his friends in the mall, he never stopped thinking about what class he would pick. In the end, he just decided to leave it up to fate and hope for the best since for him, all the class are very interesting and he doesn't really have a particular taste. That's why he would be fine even if he got healer.

And even though Narasha suggested for him to pick mage, in the end he decided to follow his original decision. Since she was the one to say it herself that it's not good to choose a class based on the starting attributes, he figured that it would be good for him. That way, he can only blame himself if he didn't like his class in the future.

After editing the wheel, with both nervousness and anticipation on his face, he rolled it.

Calvin closed his eyes as he waited for the wheel to stop. The moment he heard a sound indicating that the wheel has stopped, he took a deep breath and slowly opened his eyes.

Rogue.

(A/N: I actually did the roulette thing and this is what I got in my first try. This is no way planned so yeah just wanted to tell you.)

That was the result that he got from the wheel. He was both excited but also a bit disappointed since he kinda wanted to try tamer. I mean who doesn't want to have an army right at their hands right?

Still, he was satisfied with what he got so he shook off his disappointment and excitedly started looking for clues for the Rogue building.

Seeing as there were no signs, he looked for someone that knows it. Specifically the NPCs. It was not hard to find one since almost all entities in the game have a mark on the top of their heads.

The players have diamond shaped markers while the NPCs have cone shaped markers. The color for the players changes depending on how many criminal points they have. Low points have green and the higher it goes, it turns to red then black. As for how they got criminal points, its simply by doing bad deeds like PK or harassing other players. As for the NPCs, the color changes based on the friendly status of the NPC with the player that was looking at said NPC. White for neutral, red for hostile and green for friendly.

As an aside, enemies have a skull marker on top of their heads.

Calvin walked towards a middle aged man that was standing near spawn location of the village with his arms crossed. He has a muscular build paired with a stern expression on his face. This made him have look like a serious type of person.

Calvin used the basic Inspect skill that every players have on the man.

[Inspect]

Grade: F

Inspect the target to get information such as name and stats. The information the user gets depends on the level difference between the user and the target. The target could be anything.

Cost: None

The moment he used this, a window appeared in front of him.

[Astor, Guard Leader of the Beginner Village 69]

Level: ??

That was the only thing that he got from the inspect skill. Calvin wasn't disappointed since he kinda expected that result already.

Astor looked towards Calvin's direction and when Calvin got close, he said in a stern voice.

"Welcome player. I know that you have many questions and that's exactly why we guards are here to help you answer some of these questions."

Before Calvin could ask something, Astor cut him off, "But before that, let me tell you one thing first. Using the inspect skill on someone else can be seen as rude by many people. I don't particularly mind it but that doesn't mean others don't. So I say this as an advice to be careful when using Inspect to others."

Calvin was stunned at Astor's long explanation. He got embarrassed and apologised, "Ohh sorry about that Mr. Astor. I will take your advice seriously and thank you very much for your explanation."

Astor smiled at Calvin's actions, "Just call me Astor and also your very welcome. Anyways may I ask for your name young man?"

Calvin replied, "Ohh I'm Zeke. It's nice to meet you uhm Astor."

"Not good with strangers?" Astor asked with a grin.

"Yeah." Calvin said with a forced smile.

"That's ok. Anyways what do you want to ask?" Astor said.

"Ohh I want to ask about the Rogue class building. Can you tell me where it is?" Calvin asked with a bit of excitement.

Seeing the excitement on his face, Astor couldn't help but smile wider. "Ohh the rogue building. All class buildings is in that direction. Just walk that road and you will definitely see all the class buildings. They are bigger compared to other ones so you won't miss it. There are signs in front of the doors and that entails what class it is. Look for a sign of a dagger. That's for the rogue class."

Calvin listened seriously which Astor noticed. This action made him praise him inwardly since many players that he met were either too excited or there were even arrogant ones. Calvin was one of the few that actually listened and was even polite.

After Astor finished, Calvin was about to ask more when Astor said first, "If you have any other questions, you should ask the people there. They would be willing to answer them for you. Even though It was nice meeting you but unfortunately I need to go now since I have other works to do. Sorry Zeke."

Calvin was a bit disappointed about that but soon shook his head as he said with a smile. "It's ok Astor. You've done more than enough for me. Thank you very much for your help and it was also fun meeting you. I'll go now."

They said goodbye to each other while waving as they walked away. Calvin headed to the road pointed by Astor earlier. The road was populated by many players also going to their class buildings. It was very rowdy and lively with many people talking to each other.

Soon, Calvin saw big buildings with signs in front of them. He saw a sign of shield, a broadsword, a fist and other signs. Just like Astor said, it was very easy to guess what class are those for. From time to time, players could be seen going in and out of the class buildigs with excitement on their faces.

Soon enough he saw a building with a sign of a dagger in front of it. Calvin walked quickly towards it with excitement on his face.
