Gray Light

The Black Kingdom's Palace.

"What?! Why did you do that to our daughter?! Lilya, she still needs time to study. This is not purely Cassandra's fault, you have to understand that! You can't lock her up like that!"

Aether's voice seemed to rise, and he didn't think his wife could bear to lock up their beloved daughter, Cassandra Adaire Aether.

Lilya did not budge and was still engrossed in dinner on the dining table. She remained calm even though Aether had hit the table in anger.

"Calm yourself, Aether. What I've done is the best choice. How long have you been waiting for Cassandra to succeed? For me it would never come and work. Even if she does have to be locked up forever in the tower, it's a very good thing compared to having to throw her into the purple valley," answered Lilya casually.

Her eyes were fixed on Aether.

"How dare you say that, Lilya! Isn't it our agreement that this time we have to show Cassandra to the outside world? She is no longer a child! She can definitely learn a few spells, and Prince Dylan isn't as good as you think!" said Aether. He was sick of seeing his wife's face for the first time.

"But Prince Dylan was born purely a white wizard, what would we say if Cassandra instead proudly flaunts that she has white magic in her body? Abercio will definitely feel victorious! I won't let that happen! You don't have to be so weak to Cassandra! She must understand what has happened within her must be resisted, she should not accept and surrender! You spoil Cassandra too much, Aether!"

Lilya put away the plate in front of her. She then put her hands on the table and leaned closer to Aether, sitting on her left side. Her eyes explained how Lilya was so angry at Aether, who had protested her decision.

"I'm not weak to her! I'm just acting as a father! She's been too hard to accept all the punishments and harsh sentences that you always give! Since a long time ago! It wasn't Cassandra's fault that she had the blood of a white magic in her! This is all from--"

"What? What do you want to say?! You want to say I was the cause of all this?" asked Lilya. She cut off Aether's sentence.

"Yes! You should have realized that it all came from your parents! You must understand that your mother is a white wizard who betrayed her kingdom!"

"ENOUGH!" shrieked Lily.

All the lights in the room suddenly went out simultaneously as Lilya's shrill voice sounded terrible.

Her green eyes had now turned black.

"You don't have to bring up what happened to my parents. I am a pure black wizard, and so you and Cassandra should be!"

Lilya then stood up and left Aether alone in the dining room. Her heart still hurts because Aether has opened up the old story that happened to her parents.

East Tower

Meanwhile, Cassandra seemed to hide her face between her legs. Sadness spreads throughout the body. Cassandra did not expect her mother to imprison her like this.

"If I had known the spell to erase this light, I might have left here. But, Grandma, why is mom being so mean to me?" Cassandra muttered.

The pretty girl's eyes were already puffy from crying too much today.

"Cassandra! Cassandra! Where are you?"

The sound made Cassandra lift her head up and immediately stand up. She recognized that lovely voice.

"Gomiko! I'm here!"

Cassandra seemed to be waving her hand at the little furry creature that flew in front of the tower window.

"Cassandra! Are you okay?" asked Gomiko.

"Gomiko! How did you know I was here?"

"I saw the gray light that enveloped the tower when I wanted to visit you in your room. When I saw your room was tightly closed, I immediately decided to go to this tower, what happened?" asked Gomiko, her cute face looking even more adorable as her eyes widened.

Cassandra immediately whimpered and began to cry. The beautiful girl wept bitterly as she covered her face with both hands.

"Cassandra, what happened! Don't cry like that!"

Gomiko, who felt pity, immediately broke through the light. But, suddenly, the little creature screamed while crashing into Cassandra.

"ARGHH!"

Cassandra immediately looked at Gomiko, and the little animal was flying in all directions while emitting smoke from its body.

"Gomiko! What is it?" Cassandra asked, panicking.

"It's so hot!" he screamed.

Cassandra then jumped up and caught the furry creature. His small lips screamed, whimpering in pain. However, after that, he immediately fell silent.

Cassandra let go of Gomiko's tiny body. The creature had returned to flying usually. He then floated towards the window.

"What light is this? When I pass it my body feels like it's on fire, but there's no fire to be seen, right?" asked Gomiko.

Hearing this, Cassandra gasped and realized that Gomiko had managed to pass through the light made by her mother.

"I don't know, my mom made it when she sent me here. I thought this was only for them to pass, but it turns out you can. What does that mean, I can also leave from here?" Cassandra asked, her eyes fixed on the light.

Quickly her feet stepped and jumped towards the window while reaching her hand to touch the light. But what she got instead was something terrible.

"KYA!"

Cassandra's body bounced towards the bed in the middle of the room.

"Cassandra!" shouted Gomiko.

Cassandra immediately blew out her hand and said, "It's like being stung by something! Why did you get through it?!"

"I don't know, maybe because I'm not human? It also had an effect on me, my body really felt hot earlier," said Gomiko.

"I don't mind if I have to feel the heat, as long as I can get out of this tower," Cassandra shouted.

"You're not going anywhere! Who are you talking to, Cassandra?!"

Suddenly Lilya's voice came from the window. The woman was already standing in her black robe. Her sharp eyes looked around the room.

Gomiko immediately hid under the bed. During this time, Cassandra's parents did not know if their child had a friend from a hybrid nation. Even if Cassandra's parents knew, it wouldn't be a problem. It's just that neither Cassandra nor Gomiko are afraid because they are the dark aura that Cassandra's parents have is very strong.

"There's no one here, I'm just talking to myself," Cassandra said. She stood up and looked at Lilya.

"Save your dream! I brought you dinner, tomorrow afternoon I will come, I hope you have memorized at least three spells. Don't fail, you will be punished if you fail!" said Lily firmly.

Cassandra swallowed her saliva and didn't answer her mother's words. Lilya's eyes looked around the room again. Then, after making sure nothing was strange, she went back through the window and flew into a crow.

Gomiko immediately came out of hiding as Lilya left. He floated up and pressed his round body against Cassandra's face.

"Don't cry, Cassandra..."

Cassandra sighed and looked at Gomiko, then said, "You have to help me get out of this tower, Gomiko!"
