Chapter 33: The Vampire City

"Finally, a city." Nehora uttered tiredly as she was out of the forest now. It was night time as she arrived in the city.

She stood on the pavement and started to walk in the random direction as cars passed by. People that walked around stared at her with different intent–disgust, curiosity, pity, etc.

Well, who could blame them, Nehora did wear tattered clothes and looked messy and at least they minded their own business afterwards.

Nehora walked for long minutes until she was in an alleyway, a horizontal pathway leading to the dead end with tall buildings surrounding. It was quite a dirty place, with a dumpster full of trash and rats creeping around.

She walked and walked and lied tiredly against the wall as her stomach growled in hunger. Without realizing it, she found herself sleeping on the dirty ground, more or less losing consciousness.

"Good morning little girl or should l say good evening~"

Nehora slowly and weakly opened her eyes, hearing someone's voice. She lifted her head up to look at the person and saw a beautifully dressed woman, holding a black walking cane with a golden skull handle. The cane looked expensive.

The woman was stunning with straight black hair as well as eyes and she dressed in a long-sleeved dress. She wore light makeup with red lipstick and dark eyeshadow. Lastly, she adorned herself with jewelry.

Nehora looked around herself to see it was still dark and looked at the lady with hostility. The lady just smiled at the way Nehora stared at her.

"No need to be scared little girl. I'm just here to help that's all. Seeing a child like this, is just pitiful and passersby told me about your presence..." The unknown lady uttered in a smoothing tone to calm Nehora's nerves.

Nehora became suspicious of her intentions as she frowned, "What do want from me?"

"As l said l want to help. l take care of children like you due to owning a orphange just two blocks away."

The lady then reached the pockets of her dress to take out something and her actions made Nehora on high alert, but what she took out made Nehora's stomach to growl.

It was a pack of cookies wrapped in transparent plastic bag, tied by a red ribbon. The lady offered the cookies to Nehora who without hesitation took it. She was too hungry to think about the consequences.

She teared off the plastic and stuffed her face with those cookies. She ate like hungry animal who hadn't eaten for days.

Finally she was done eating and looked at the lady with an embarrassed look. The lady chuckled, "No need to be embarrassed. Now it is time to go..." The lady stared at Nehora with eyes that had evil intent as her eyes turned red.

Nehora felt dozy. Her eyes were hard to keep open as they felt heavy.

"You!" Nehora angrily shouted.

"... After all you can't stay in this cold." The lady uttered with a grin and...her long, sharp fangs showed! Two bulky men wearing black suits appeared besides the lady's sides.

Seeing this, Nehora was hit with a realization, "You are a..." before she could finish, she passed out. As the figure of the lady faded.

"Argh..."

Nehora woke up with a groan on a cold floor while holding her forehead. Her head was throbbing with pain.

She was hit with the smell of blood and other unpleasant ordour. Nehora finally observed her surrounding and saw that she was locked up in a cell.

She must be in a dungeon. There was no source of light other than a dimly lit light outside the cells.

*Growls*Growls*

Turning her head slowly to the side, she saw a blood-thirsty werewolf that stood about 12ft. It was black in colour and had red eyes that seemed to glow in the dark.

Nehora backed out a little in fear. "That is a rogue..." she said in a whisper.

Rogues are wild werewolves with no self-control, they have lost their humanity. This happens to werewolves who don't have a pack anymore for 10 or more days. They won't be able to shapeshift to their human form and will stay in their wolf form.

The huge wolf had slash wounds on its body. It growled at Nehora at it stared at her. Other growls were heard in the other cells, Nehora and the other wolf weren't the only ones in this dungeon.

The metal door creaked open to the dimly lit dungeon and the heels clacked as the lady walked in a slow pace.

She calmly walked pass the cells which were located both her sides. The beasts growled and showed their sharp canines. If the cells were open, they would probably rip her apart.

Reaching Nehora's cell, the lady smiled at her while least tapping her crane on the floor making a loud sound.

"You!" Nehora looked at her with anger but that did not faze her in anyway.

"It seems you are introduced to your roommate. He's quite cute, isn't he?" The lady uttered while looking at the growling beast.

"What do you want?"

"Too forward aren't you. Let's us introduce ourselves since we started off the wrong foot."

"l don't wanna know who you are, you bloodsucker!"

"Feisty you are, l like it~just what we need. However, l am not here for that. I am Yvetta and you are the new addition."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well, we see werewolves as a new entertainment and you will be fighting to the death like gladiators. Isn't that great!" she giggled happily as she spinned around.

Nehora in anger ran towards Yvetta and once she touched the cell bars. She hissed in pain as her hands were burnt and Yvetta laughed.

"You are just like the others. Those bars are made out of pure silver. A weakness to your species."

'Is that the reason why that rogue didn't come near the bars. I'm stupid.' Nehora thought as she looked at her burnt hands that slowly and surely healing, but that's gonna leave a scar.

Wounds caused by pure silver won't heal fully.

"Your meal will be coming very soon. It may be your last meal. Enjoy your sweet time while it last~"

She waved her hand while walking away from Nehora's cell.

What was waiting for Nehora was not something good.
