Chapter 21

Kate stood there feeling unease, her plan was just to implicate Cassandra and now Liam is taking it up for her.

"Kate... will You just stand there and watch?" Joan asked.

"There is nothing I can do right now. I can't say the truth you know... I will be punished" Kate said.

"Come with me...." Kenneth said dragging Kate out.

"What is it?..." Kate asked as soon as they stepped out.

"How dare you do such a thing? You know acquiring scholarship to this school was like an answered prayer. And now... You want to destroy that?" Kate ranted angrily.

"If she wasn't the one involved, I'm sure you won't be here" Kate retorted.

"Kate... I have decided to let her be. She needs to be happy..." Kenneth said, regretting all the things he did. Without saying any other thing, he left.

Cassandra ran over to Liam the moment he received the last stroke. She hugged him and cried seriously. Then she tried to pull away but Liam hugged her back.

"Hey... Stop crying... It hurts me" he whispered.

"Liam I'm sorry...." Was all she could utter. Liam pulled away, held her hand and then left the hall. He headed for the studio. Cassandra felt her hand clenching, she never knew she liked him too until today. Or... Will it be better to say... She loves him. 'Wait... What are you even thinking about? He deserves someone better right? Someone that won't bring him pain.' She said to herself inwardly.

Liam locked the door once they stepped into the studio. He released her hand and went to sit. Looking at the blood stain on his shirt, she felt like something was stabbing her heart.

"Liam!... Open the door..." Gabriella, Jane, David and James where knocking and calling out.

"Just let us be for a while!...." Liam exclaimed.

"Liam.... Let me help you..." Cassandra said holding a first aid box.

" no need... I will go to the infirmary later. Just please hug me" he replied. Cassandra dropped the first aid box and hugged him. They were silent for a while.

"Cassandra... I..." Liam could not finish his statement because Cassandra spoke.

"I like you Liam..." She said. Liam froze, he wasn't expecting that. He pulled away and looked into her eyes. They held each others gaze for a while.

"Are You saying this to make me feel better?" Liam asked.

"No... I just realized I have always liked." She replied.

"So... You mean... You are my girlfriend from now?" Liam asked enthusiastically.

"Yes... " Cassandra said feeling shy so she gave him a quick peck on his lips and then turned to leave immediately but Liam held her back.

"And where is my girlfriend heading to..." He said with a mischievous smile. Cassandra kept head down but her heart was racing... She don't know why but she felt unease when he mentioned the word girlfriend.

"You have to go to the infirmary..." She managed to say.

"Yes ma" He said and headed for the door.

"You have to come with me" he added while holding her hand.

"Liam... Are you ok?" Gabriella said as soon as the door opened.

"Don't worry... My love... With my lovely girlfriend here I will always be fine." Liam said and started walking away away leaving his sister and friends gaping in surprise.

"You've got alot of questions to answer later...! Gabriella exclaimed. Before she turned to look at others and then they shouted "yes!"....
