Chapter 41

"Laura, what's going on? I heard Leonard is back, how did he survive?" Mr. Robert was so angry and scared.

"I don't know how... I saw when he was stabbed plus his corps was thrown in the bushes and burnt. There was no way he will survive" Laura explained.

"I think we need a better plan. We must eliminate Leonard or else, we will be done for." Mr. Robert said.

"Don't You think killing Williams is enough?" Laura asked and Mr. Robert burst into a villainous laugh.

"You dummy... With Leonard alive I will definitely go down and don't forget, if I go down... You will definitely go down with me" Mr. Robert said with an evil smirk. The thought of it made Laura scared, and the determination to eliminate Leonard at all cost was so strong.

Mr. Leonard was at his favorite cafe enjoy the divine taste of the coffee he ordered when his phone rang. "Yes?..." Mr. Leonard said as soon as he picked up the call.

"It's me. Gary" was the reply on the other side.

"Oh... Gary, what's up?" Mr. Leonard The asked calmly.

"I saw everything on the flash drive. We need to talk" Gary replied.

"Oh ok... Meet me at the cafe we stopped at the previous day" Mr. Leonard said and hung up.

Gary headed for the cafe immediately. He really need to get some answers. After some minutes, he arrived and went in. Mr Leonard was sitting in the same spot he sat the other day. He looked so relaxed as he savour the taste of his coffee.

"You are here..." Mr. Leonard said casually as soon as Gary came over and sat down.

"Yeah... I need answers" Gary replied.

"Ok..." Was Mr. Leonard's short reply.

"The day they were killed, all the cameras in the room were disconnected how did you fine the video? Plus Mr. Williams could not finish the investigation." Gary was so confused. It was really difficult for him to wrap his head around everything.

"Gary... I don't know if you remember seeing a teddy bear in the room that day" Mr. Leonard asked. Gary was quite for a while as he tried recalling everything.

"There was indeed a teddy bear in the room but it was amongst other soft toy animals. But what does it has to do with my question?" Gary was getting more confused.

"The day Williams died, he asked me to keep investigating. I did not find anything for months, until on this faithful day when I went there with a friend and he suggested we check everything and everywhere in the room and surprisingly, The eyes of the teddy bear were replaced with cameras." Mr. Leonard replied.

"Leonard... I'm sorry, I was a coward, I was an idiot... I was a jerk" Gary was so mad at himself for letting Mr. Robert use him.

"You were not Gary... I would have done worst if I was in your shoes. They were your only family." Mr. Leonard said.

"Thank You for understanding, but I have to apologize to Liam" Gary felt so sorry for the boy.

"Trust me, The boy has a strong forgiving spirit and a big heart just like his father" Mr. Leonard said with a reassuring smile.

Cassandra was in her room reading a novel when her phone rang.

"Hey girl..." Cassandra said as soon as she picked up.

"Where are you?" Gabriella asked.

"I'm at home " Cassandra replied.

"Doing?..." Gabriella asked.

"Nothing... Just reading a novel" Cassandra replied.

"Have You pick an out fit for tomorrow?" Gabriella asked.

"Tomorrow...?" Cassandra was confused.

"Yes... School is resuming on Monday and there will an opening party tomorrow by 3:00pm" Gabriella reminded Cassandra.

"Jeez.. I forgot about that..." Cassandra replied.

"How about coming over so we pick up our out fits together?" Gabriella suggested.

"Yeah that will be great..." Cassandra replied.

"See You then.." Gabriella said and hung up.
