Every child has the right to better education. A child Is owed his or her childhood. No parent will want to ruin a child's life by taking away their right to fun, play and enjoyment. But my parents were the opposite of a good parent." Crying.
On the twentieth of June twenty-twenty, (20/6/2020). "I was with my friends playing and laughing. We were all enjoying ourselves. "Favor, catch," said Joy throwing a balloon at me. I jumped with all my energy so I don't miss the balloon and so it don't break by hitting anything. "Yes, I caught it" Favor exclaimed. All the other children were clapping their hands and praising me "Favor is a good goalkeeper!" I looked so excited and I danced to the praises. I have always dreamt of joining the Nigerian girl's football team. If you asked me at that time what I wanted to become I will joyfully tell you "I want to be a goalkeeper." (Smile) After all, footballers are paid well. "Favor the goalkeeper, throw the ball now." Shouted John. Back to the playground, I quickly threw the ball toward John and he caught it.
"Favor!" Mum shouted my name from the house. I heard her but I did not want to go home at that time, I was enjoying our game. Then she shouted this time louder and it was obvious if I refused this time to answer I will be beaten with her favourite tool(smiling) 'Slippers' and I wasn't ready to receive any stroke. I answered and ran home to know why she was calling. Entering the house, "Mummy, good evening. Good evening ma" I greeted noticing a strange woman seating next to my mother. "My beautiful daughter, good evening." the strange woman answered smiling like a child who won a sweet. "Favor, come sit down here," said my mum, pointing the stool close to her. I went and sat down. looking at her waiting for answers. I was very uncomfortable with the presence of this strange woman. "Who was she?" I asked this in my mind. "This is my daughter and she is the only one we have," Mother told the strange woman. The strange looked at me and gave an ugly smile "I like her." she said laughing out. "Mummy, who is this woman?" finding the courage to ask my mum.
"Keep quiet I will tell you later" responded my mum. The woman stopped laughing and said, "Don't worry I am your mother-in-law." I was shocked. I looked at my mum waiting for her to explain or condemn what this woman was saying. All I saw at my mum's first was a blank expression. No word came out of her mouth. When I turned to rethink what this strange woman was saying, that was when my mum broke the camel's back. "She is right, Favor." Not looking at me. "What?" was all I could say and ask before I started crying.
