Chapter 121 Magic Scholars

It didn't take long for me to come to terms with my new life as I slowly found a foothold for myself.

The letter led me to a source inside the Clover kingdoms that helped me set myself up and get official here.

He helped me set up a persona as well, also giving me more info on my target or mission in this case.

It seems the clover kingdom wants me to do more than one mission in the kingdom, this consists of me taking care of a few targets and assassinating them, killing off some deserters as well as getting confidential info on the project being carried out by the diamond kingdom.

After snooping around for a few weeks I learned it was better to either become a magic scholar or a magic general which is the equivalent of a magic squad captain to really get some info, it will also help me get the confidential info when the king starts trusting me more and more,

After working on a way to join the army for a while I was finally able to do so after a month, it was a bit hard given I didn't bother hiding my strength in front of them.

The spy from the clover kingdom was a huge help in avoiding any problems, due to which I easily joined under the banner of one of the magic generals who is also one of my assassination targets.

"If I can get some time alone with him, maybe I can get rid of him and complete one of the goals of coming here," I wondered as I walked across the giant manor like building that belonged to the magic warrior squad I was assigned under.

During my time in this kingdom, I have clearly sensed the extremely despairing attitude everyone has towards life due to the poor living conditions and the constantly diminishing resources.

These problems constantly keep gnawing at the hearts of the people, Though I have also noticed these guys are much more sturdy as compared to the magic knights of my own kingdom which makes me sad.

"I will be sure to relay this info to Yamuna through the spatial motion, hehe," I couldn't help but feel amused at the thought of Yami making everyone train ten times more than normal.

"Alpha! What are you standing there giggling like an idiot for?" As I was busy thinking about some plausible ways I could take down one of the big powerhouses in a way that no one noticed or even get some info from him regarding my main mission, I was called out by one of my fellow mage warriors as he strolled towards me with an apple in his hands, Alpha is my Diamond kingdom fake name.

"Oh! I was just busy thinking about what to get you for your birthday," I smiled back as I hugged the guy, this guy's name is Jerry, he is a rather opportunistic dude and less bloodthirsty as compared to the others around the place.

"haha! Just buy me some booze from Lama Ale after we are done with our patrol and I will consider it a gift," he replied back as he shrugged off the topic of his birthday, perhaps out of everyone I have met until now in this kingdom.

"You know one of the guys bought me a trucking sword," Jerry continued as he put his arm over Robin's shoulder and started moving toward the general's room.

"I mean, what am I going to do with it, I am a mage for god's sake!" Jerry said dramatically.

Robin could only bitterly nod at the old man's words as they both arrived in front of the room of the magic general they served, their days consisted of walking into the office and asking if the magic general they served needed any missions to be done.

The whole life of magic warriors revolves around this.

Though today was a different day as the magic general finally gave them a task that interested the two of them.

More so for Robin than others because it was in line with his main quest,

"I want you both to look after magic scholar Dr.Alaska as he goes through the beetle wasteland, remember to protect him with everything you have or else."

"Yes Sir!"

The two looked at each other as they heard the commands and slowly retreated with their heads bowed.

"Man! I can't believe they are asking us to look after a magic scholar," Jerry spoke as he excitedly waved his hands around.

"Yeah! Didn't you say Magic scholars are usually busy and seldom go out, even going as far as to say they have been recently working on something super secret," Robin who was known as Alpha asked.

"Yeah! I know that, maybe there is something in the wasteland needed by that guy or something."

After a few more small talks, the both of them arrived at the renowned Lama Ale as Robin, known as Alpha fulfilled his promise, his mind still planning on getting some info from the supposed magic scholar.
