The Rescuer and The Coward

"How did you become so good at climbing? You're scaling the mountain like some mountain goat or— Wait, is that a bad comparison?"

Euandros said as his lover went to climb the stiff cliff reaching the waterfall.

Ren Jidian chuckled as he jumped from one rock to the other. "I would have preferred monkeys, to be honest. Mountain goats climb fast because of their legs, and they run to scale up mountains. Meanwhile, I dangle and hang like a monkey. It's more about grip strength than balance."

"How did you develop the grip strength, then? Was it something from these worlds, or from your original one?" Euandros asked.

The great climbing monkey chuckled. "It's because my father would often beat me up and then throw me to the streets if I did something wrong. He would lock the doors, and I'd have to climb into the window or any spaces I could find just to get back in."

Euandros frowned. "Your father is a terrible man."
