Juri nervously entered the room where Queen Lenora awaited her. Her lady's maid, Flora, led her into the room, then took a seat beside Queen Lenora. Queen Lenora never once looked up from the ledgers she had been going over, Flora had to nudge her to remind her that a guest was present.

"You wanted to speak with me, my queen?" asked Juri.

She needed to tread very carefully with Juval's mom because once they were back in the merfolk kingdom, Queen Lenora had the power to make her life uncomfortable if they could not find common ground.

Still, Juri refused to let Queen Lenora know just how much she affected her and stood serenely with her head held high as she waited for an answer. Queen Lenora studied Juri as if she was looking at a bug with a vague sense of curiosity.
