Unfaithful Beliefs

Tammy and Sophia were strolling through the garden, when Maester Cornwall called from behind, "Can I have a word with you, my dears?" Tammy looked at him and said, "Well, since you walked all the way down eleven stairs, my denial would be kinda cruel." Maester Cornwall smiled, "Witty as always. I heard from my informant that Elgin and his mortal friends were spotted walking around the low areas of the kingdom." Tammy said grimly, "Don't tell me these things. Inform Jammy if you think your suspicious nature will bring the kingdom any glory." He hold Sophia's hand and walked away.

Maester Cornwall looked at them going and sighed, "Sometimes, I think that I have betted on the wrong brother." He walked away and saw that Maester Taylor is talking with a fair maid and he gave a pouch full of gold coins to her. The maid immediately hid it under her apron and walked away briskly. Cornwall smiled, "Now, I have something to dig about this motherfucker." He smiled and went away.

Alice, Elena and Trisha quietly followed Elgin as they entered deep inside the dark and shady neighborhood. Though, the place seemed much like any normal village, it was full of people holding scythes and axes. Alice asked afraid, "Are you sure that they will be friendly towards us?" Elgin replied, "Relax, girl. They won't attack one elf and three unarmed ladies without any reason." Elgin asked, "Can we meet Honorus?" One of the man said, "Call him King Honorus, fool."

Elgin smiled, "We have come a long distance to meet him. I hope you can understand my urgency. Only King Honorus can understand my plead." The man asked, "How can we believe you? You are an elf and you are carrying humans with you. Both of the species has been hostile towards us for centuries and slaughtered many of our kind." Elgin said angrily, "Elves have never slaughtered any Shinigano in their entire history." The man said, "Oh, really! The royal mages were all elves and killed many of us in the Second War of West." Elgin asked, "You had a Second War of West?" The man said, "Oh, yes. After you were gone from the kingdom, Jammy and his associates attacked our tribes, killed our men, raped our women and kidnapped our children and sold them to the demon, Bacca." Aliyah asked, "What are you saying, boy? Jammy has connections with Bacca? Why would he do that, when he perfectly knows that Kayuba and Kenchi killed his father on Bacca's command."

The man said, "Not only that. Jammy has been looting us and Shuken people on the ire of the crimes our forefathers did centuries ago." Elgin said angrily, "But, the Shinigano and Shuken clans have done so much for them and saved them on the cost of their own death and destruction from those demons. Does Tammy know about it?"

"Of course, he knows. How do you think Jammy maintains so much forum for him to do his cruelty without any repercussions?" A voice came from behind and everyone turned and saw King Honorus standing there, smoking a cigarette. Elgin ran towards him and hugged him, "I knew you would come." King Honorus smiled, "You are in my kingdom and of course I would like to come to receive my old friend's brother." Alice, Elena and Trisha went near King Honorus and Alice asked, "Why you never did anything and stayed silent and endured all the pain? I have heard that you people are known for your bravery and just nature." King Honorus said grimly, "It's not that easy as it looks, girl. Tammy has a large army and advanced weapons and also he is allied with many powerful kings and the orcs." Aliyah popped out and asked, "Orcs? Orcs were exterminated ages ago from the land by the brave warriors of Manaca and Elvania in the First War of West. Your forefathers and our forefathers have sacrificed their lives in the war."

King Honorus said, "So, the rumors are indeed true. You do have returned from the dead to guide the bearer of the Blood Spear. Well, many years ago when our forefathers won the war and wiped out almost all the orcs. Some orcs escaped and went into exile, where they learned new languages and ways of hiding from us. They secretly learned magic by stealing magic books from the Ancient Library and now they have acquired enough wealth and knowledge to become a threat to us again. Jammy saw this as an opportunity to make himself more powerful and fearful by joining hands and marrying into the Orc clan. These two brothers have broken old vows and tortured the innocent people of the kingdom.They both deserve to be punished." Aliyah sighed, "Xao Chang is going to attack us anytime and here we are entangled in a stupid and baseless war that was ended years."

Alice said, "King Honorus is right. Jammy and Tammy cannot go away doing so much treason and injustice to the Shinigano and Shuken clans. We have to punish them for their crimes." Elgin said, "Even if your emotions are justified. Tammy has much more sophisticated arsenal than Shinigano and Shuken clans combined and if Jammy's alliance with the Orcs are true, then we have already lost 90 per cent of the winning chance." Trisha asked, "Why are you so afraid of the Orcs? Haven't your forefathers defeated them ages ago?" Aliyah said grimly, "Things were different then, Trisha. Our forefathers fought for five generations and still won the war by a very thin margin. No one could match the cunning and brutality of the Orcs then and I'm afraid these years of learning new things, have made them even deadlier." King Honorus said, "Let me tell you something, guys. The Orcs are apparently not that large anymore and from the sources, I have heard that they are quite the size of these pretty girls."

Elgin said, "Well, that only worsens the situation more. Their gigantic body size was a weakness for them in close area combat and if they are of regular size then, defeating will be a lot harder now." Aliyah said grimly, "They fight like insane beasts. Biting, poking in the eyes, scratching with their dirty nails and hitting in weak spots are their regular fighting style. I still remember my uncle's face after fighting with an orc. Eyes red with blood, hands bleeding immensely and one leg severely chewed." Elena said, "You are scaring us now." Aliyah said grimly, "Well, you should be. I have seen the horrors of the war. Tammy and Jammy have played a very dirty trick joining hands with the Orcs. They perfectly knows that nobody has the strength left to fight another war against the evil Orcs and will certainly try to avoid bloodshed by obeying whatever whims those stupid brothers throw on them."

King Honorus looked at the girls and said, "They look tired from the long journey, Elgin. Why don't we talk about the rest of the matter inside my luxurious room?" Elgin said, "Yeah. I think we all need a rest after hearing all about those unpleasant surprises." They walked a mile away and reached a medium size royal looking house made of mud and hay. King Honorus smiled, "I know it's not as "luxurious" as I like to call it but it's the best we can afford to build out of the garbage left from the palace. Damn Jammy, really squeezed us to our last penny."

Elgin said, "I should have known that earlier. Jammy has always been an exploiter and Tammy, well he was always been kind of ignorant towards the weakness of his family. A fragile arrogance I like to call it." Aliyah said, "Let's go inside. Without the big trees around, the sun is throwing all his light on our poor bodies." They went inside and sat in a cold room made up walls of ice and floor of wood." Elena asked, "How do you keep the ice frozen?" King Honorus smiled, "Magic. But, at night the cold temperature helps the most." Trisha asked, "Is it too much cold at nights?" King Honorus said, "Our thick skin can endure much lower temperatures so I think, yes for humans it's Antartica." Aliyah said, "Tammy may like put a blind eye on his family's weakness, but he ain't fool to mess around so much with the Orcs, as he knows that this will lead to a sure revolution."

King Honorus said grimly, "People are like stones, Aliyah. They may be quite strong from outside, but too many attacks on their beliefs can break them apart. Ages ago, who would have thought that humans would be sitting with us like our own kin and on top of that, a ghost. Well, you can imagine how much turmoil would that have caused."

Aliyah said, "Just because of your wise words, I cannot overlook the fact that my people are going to join hands with the Orcs because of some adaption to change. Orcs are flithy, evil and our enemies. Jammy and Tammy had their own selfish interests and that's why they joined hands with those creatures. I have faith in my people and nothing can change that." King Honorus asked, "Do they have faith in you, too? Aliyah, you were dead for almost a century and now you come here as a soul guide of a mortal who you call the bearer of the Blood Spear. The elves have almost every reason to not believe you or even Elgin who was an alien to any development in the kingdom. Tammy is a man who married the daughter of Verona, the woman who spitted on the face of Grand General Zander, who was probably the most handsome man ever born in the kingdom. Jammy raped and impregnated Verona and has befriended the Orcs who would kill even the shadow of an elf if seen in their territory. Do you think the elves don't see it, the justice doesn't see it, Mother Manaca doesn't see it? Rules and prestige has been crushed under the wheel of survival a long time ago and no one is interested in resurrecting it." Alice sighed, "So, is it the end of all? I have seen many bad people proving to the world that survival is all about crushing the other, but in the end nor do they survive nor their crooked principles. Hitler died, Osama died, even the great Genghis Khan died, then why the hell is Tammy and Jammy still breathing?"

"I like your enthusiasm, little girl. But, sorry to inform you that it ain't happening in this lifetime." A voice came from behind as everyone turned and saw Jammy was standing there with one of the guard's head in his hand. On his left, Maester Cornwall was standing with his arms folded, smiling. Maester Cornwall smiled, "I told you earlier, Jammy. Elgin has never been a good news for us. His mere presence puts a halt to our plans."

Jammy said, "Keep your mouth shut, Maester Cornwall. I don't like interruption. Elgin, my brother. You know it sometimes it saddens me a lot to see you still alive and breathing. I wish I could have killed you that day along with your brother." Elgin lurched towards Jammy, but Jammy threw him away and said, "I'm arresting all of you for the crime of plotting regicide and unlawful entry in the banned areas." King Honorus said angrily, "My kingdom is not a banned area, you dog. I would have ripped out your tongue if you weren't the City General." Jammy smiled, "Provocation. You have earned a punishment for yourself, phony king." He took out his dagger and thrusted it inside King Honorus's heart. King Honorus fell on the ground and bled to death. Jammy said, "Bring them to the carts. Brother Tammy wants to see their faces before executing them."

The guards handcuffed them and took them to the cart and pushed them inside. Jammy looked at Alice and said, "Tell your owner, that if she tries anything smart, I will butcher your two little birds." Alice nodded in approval. Jammy went near Elgin and smiled, "Don't worry, brother. You will die with the same sword that I used to kill your brother." He laughed and went away. Aliyah came near Alice and said, "Hold down your anger, Alice. You will get the chance to attack them." Alice asked angrily, "Why didn't you let me use the spear earlier?" Aliyah said grimly, "Elves are immune to its attacks. It is a boon they received after the First War. That's why they are treating you like a normal enemy, because they know that you are nothing without the spear."

Aliyah disappeared, but her last words remained in Alice's mind. Alice sighed and looked at Trisha and Elena and said, "Don't worry. I will not let anyone hurt you till I'm alive." Trisha and Elena smiled and grasped her hand softly. Elgin looked at Jammy who was riding his horse with pride as if he caught a big reward. Elgin mumbled, "I vow on my dead brother and all the people who sacrificed their lives in the war. I will destroy you and your family's existence from the Holy land of Elves.".....
