She thought of the camping site they had mentioned earlier and while she was up in the air, she tried to find where one was. Her hands were aching badly, it felt like they would drop off. Finally, she found an empty house to stay. It didn't look anything like the camp they had talked about, maybe it wasn't even a camping sight at all.
But that wasn't a problem as long as she was able to tied him down and sit back while she waited for the portal to open in an hour, all was well.
What could possibly go wrong?
The cabin was small, it looked like it had only been out of use for only a while. It had light bulbs on, a chair and it smelt quiet dusty but that was okay. She tied him up to some wood pillars in at one side of the room, while she sat on the large sofa at the other side. The cabin looked quiet cozy too, asides from the fact that it had been out of use for quiet a while.
She was absolutely lucky to have found this place that had no Earth Realmer in it.
It didn't take long for the Dark soul to start waking up after that.
Oh, great! Now she would have to deal with that! If only the portal had not closed up at the time she wanted to return to the High Kingdom. She would have had her glory by now, and be certain of her spot in being a Guardian.
"What the--" she heard his low husky voice ring out in a slow motion.
"What the hell!" He finally blurted out when he realized that he was in bongage.
"Hey! What..." He started to say but stopped when he saw her. His eyes widened just a little, before he hissed venomously.
"Of course," he gritted out.
She gave him a one over, then looked away.
Exchanging words with a Dark Soul could be dangerous, they corrupt and she couldn't really tell all the ways it was possible for them to do that.
"I don't feel anything," she heard him say. "No bond."
She looked at him quickly in confusion and he looked back at her for only a while before his smile broadened.
"You are new at this, ain't you?"
She looked away, trying to hide how tense she was. Was there something she was doing wrong? What was it about a bond? What was he talking about?
"What does the time says?" He asked but she kept still.
"Seriously! Silence?! What is this? At least if I am going to die soon, make it worth it."
She froze slightly. What was she supposed to do? She looked at the clock some distance away and he did the same, following her gaze.
It was only 15 mins into the Closing hour, there was still 45 more minutes to wait! What was she going to do?
When she looked back at him, he had a sly smile on his face. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and he said lazily.
"I don't really know how you do this thing but..." he drawled, then he said with a playful tone, "when are you going to kill me?"
She felt suddenly angry. How dare he be so relaxed?! She was the Captor here and she felt so tensed up, like she was the one with tight ropes around her wrists, with her two hands tied far apart.
How dare he?!
"Not here."
His eyes brightened at her reply because now he could finally hear her voice. It sounded silk and soft. He could detect fear from it and a little tension but it wasn't much to go on.
"Not yet," she added.
"I wouldn't survive the Closing Hour. By the time the portal is opened, I will be dead."
So he knew about the Closing hour. But of course, he did. Even their portal would be affected at this moment.
"Liar!" She snapped at him, ready not to be swayed by anything he would say.
He shrugged, "you can say that again. It feels so weird to be saying the truth for the first time in a very long time." He tilted his head from one side to another, like as if he was thinking. "A very, very, long time."
She scoffed. This might be her first time hurting but she had heard a lot about how the Dark Souls love to play mind tricks and she was no Fool.
"Don't tell me you don't know that your ropey thing has sapped all my energy. I am weak." He snapped a little harshly, a little urgently but he still had a lazy grin on his face.
What was he doing? He confused her and for some reason, she could feel like he could sense it. Was she falling for his mind trick?! Was she falling right into the trap she had told herself she wouldn't fall into? What was going on?!
She felt angrier and a visible frown crossed her gentle face for once. She walked closer to him, making his attention draw to her jet black hair.
He squinted his eyes slightly at her to ensure his sight was playing a game on him.
When did Guardians start having black hair? He double checked to confirm that she had wings. She did, indeed. Large white feathery wings behind her small figure. She sure was a guardian then.
"I will just have to take your corpse to the Queen then. If you cared so much for your life, you should have just stayed in your realm." She was marvelled at her own confidence and mentally patted herself on the back for being such a confident speaker in the face of this devil. She had to leave his presence quickly. Who knows, he could be corrupting her right now. That was what Dark souls did anyway, the corrupt Beings with their darkness.
They destroy, devour. Nothing good ever came from them.
As she approached the door, his loud mocking laughter brought her train of thoughts to a screeching halt.
What was it now?
