Once again, Jake lost to his sister and ended up doing something he didn't want to..
That's just how it is.. When we love someone, we find it hard to say no to them.. Just for the sake of their happiness, we end up doing things we don't want to..
Although, it wouldn't a big deal for someone to get on the Ferris wheel, but Jake was an exception.. He was scared of heights and most importantly he disliked Sasha who was sitting right in front of him, taking pictures.. Ever since they got on to the ride, he kept hearing clicks nonstop.. It was getting annoying now..
'For god's sake, stop.. If she keeps going like that, either I'll jump off of here or I'll throw her' he thought..
Finally, she stopped..
Jake was just staring at his hands, afraid to look around and Sasha noticed..
"Don't tell me you're afraid of height" she smirked..
"So what if im? It's normal"
"Wow, I didn't expect you to accept it in the first go"
'What am I even doing here.. Why are we even here' He once again questioned his decision..
His thoughts were cut off when she said..
"You're single aren't you? You know that I broke up with Lucas right?" She was expecting a reaction from him but she frowned when she received none..
"May I know why are you giving me the information I never asked for?" He never looked up from his hands ..
"Why do you hate me so much?"
"I don't hate you, I just don't like you and I don't think Iris should be friends with you guys"
"Aren't you a little too honest?" She laughed sarcastically..
" And as for Iris, What made you think like that? Did she say something to you about us?"
He finally looked up at her in the eyes..
" She's my sister.. I've had enough experience of having 'friends' like you guys.. She doesn't need to tell me anything, I can see it for myself"
"You can't just judge us like that"
"I'm just trying my best to protect my sister"
Sasha chuckled "From her own friends?"
Jake knew there was no point in arguing with her so he just ignored her.. He took out his phone and begin to pretend as if Sasha doesn't even exist as he waited for the ride to be over..
Once again they were all just talking about what should they ride next and once again, jake was sitting on a bench, away from the group..
He was drinking water Iris gave him when he heard people screaming in joy.. He looked at his right and the noise was coming from the Pirate ship..
It was funny how such small things can dig out memories that you have buried in your heart..
..
"Let's try that one!!" 19-year-old Abby pointed toward the Pirate ship with a big bright smile.. Bright enough to light up Jake's whole world..
Like always, Jake and Abby were holding hands, completely ignoring the world around them.. It was like the people around them disappeared for a while..
Although jake was afraid of heights, he couldn't say no to his sunshine..
During the whole ride, Abby was screaming at top of their lungs, throwing their hands up in the air, feeling the cold breeze softly touch their skin..
Meanwhile Jake was holding on for his dear life with his eyes tightly shut..
After the ride Abby almost fell to the floor, laughing at Jake's face.. He looked like his soul has left his body and he was covered in sweat.. Seeing Abby happy, made him feel happy too despite how bad his condition was, and eventually, he started to feel better after a while..
..
A smile formed on his face remembering the best days of his life.. If he could control time, he would go back to those days and just pause the time there forever..
It's cruel how happy memories can make us smile, and hurt us the most at the same time..
Sometimes he wonders, what would happen if he never met Abby.. Would he be able to come out to his parents? Would he be able to transition into someone he was always meant to be? Would he be able to do what he loved without the fear of being judged?
In the end, it was all worth it.. Meeting them, was indeed the best thing that has ever happened to him..
But where there is love, there is pain, sadness, hurt and memories..
He was lost in his thoughts when he felt someone put a hand on his shoulder.. It was Iris..
"Feeling better now?" She asked..
"Im sorry I shouldn't have forced you to go there"
Of course, seeing Jake's condition, Iris couldn't help but feel guilty for forcing him to do something he never wanted to do..
Jake could see how worried Iris was for him.. Jake smiled and nodded..
"Don't worry I'm ok"
