"Sir? Your today's schedule" Lilian said as she slowly and gently dropped the file well luck was not on her side as the files were on the edge of the table it went scattering on the office floor


"Talk about a blind secretary" Mr. Jacobs said


"Excuse me?" Lilian now pissed at Mr. Jacobs words of contempt


"I mean if you weren't blind you would have seen that you dropped it at the edge of the table" Mr Jacobs thundered


Lilian knew she had no choice, it was her fault and it was her first day it should not be ruined by some unreasonable words


"I am sorry sir, pardon my manners" Lilian said as she picked up the files. Mr Jacobs did not look at her, he resumed his work and this pissed Lilian and she murmured "talk about a mean boss"


"Did you say something?" Mr. Jacobs said his masculine voice came as a slap to Lilian


"No sir nothing…. I.. I said nothing" Lilian stuttered as she dropped the files properly this time on the table


Lilian was perplexed "Oka..Ok.Okay sir" and she made to leave


"Yes Sir?" Lilian managed to brush a smile as she answered


"Get me coffee" Mr Jacobs said not looking up at her


"Coffee? Me?" Lilian said with puzzled looks


"You did not include being deaf in your resume did you?" Mr Jacobs dropped


"Listen here 'boss'  you want coffee go get one yourself because I will not get you coffee as it is not my job and I know it would not be stated in my employment letter. Let me remind you of what a secretary does again the job of a secretary includes organizing files preparing documents …managing office supply inventory and scheduling appointments so there is no listing saying getting coffee" Lilian was surprised at what she just said


"Where did you get this listing?" Mr Jacobs was shocked nobody had ever talked back at him


"Well…well I searched it up on the internet few seconds before I brought in your documents stating your today's appointment"


"Did Quincee tell you that yet?" Mr.Jacobs asked


"No sir I am yet to receive an employment letter" Lilian said her head bowed, she was embarrassed how could she have burst out like that?


"Leave and forget about the  coffee I will get it myself" Mr Jacobs said


"Lilian please leave right now and call Quincee  the least you could do as a secretary" Mr Jacobs shunned Lilian again this time she could not take it anymore she left not trying to explain herself


"Ms. Quincee the boss needs you" Lilian said her head bow


"For what? you are his secretary not me..why…. urgh just forget it leave the way" Quincee said as she stomped out of the office grumbling leaving Lilian wondering if it was a culture to be ill-mannered


Work process
