Quest Failed [1]

Ballantyne seeing Virus's smirk at the time had different thoughts running through his head.

'could Virus see his status screen!? Her response indicated so. Otherwise why else did she ask the question even when he hadn't uttered a word?.

Or was it just a coincidence? Had virus always wanted to test out my fighting powers? Did she just want to know just how strong I had become!?'

With each question, Ballantyne didn't have an answer. To be honest he was a little rattled and this thought has shaken him up and made him so lost in thought to the extent of not being fully prepared.

Still, Ballantyne showed up. Deciding to further check his status screen just to know if there were any punishments for failure. And there it was staring at him like it was mocking him.

Ballantyne couldn't help but open his mouth leaving it hanging due to the shock. This alone made his worries intensify his thoughts rotating around the princess.

'Just how powerful has the princess gotten over the span of 7 years!?' He couldn't help but ask himself his curiosity prickling the more.

Ballantyne stumbled twice because he had been deep in thought. He was sure that if he was to stumble again, he would be kissing the ground next.

Ballantyne had no idea if the princess had gotten powers yet or was still powerless like her brother who had decided to wait till his sister was of age to assist him in picking a power that would be suitable for him.

Ballantyne watched as the people of the kingdom gathered for this event, an event that wasn't meant to be. He had wanted to decline the Quest at first but when he saw the warning he knew he couldn't.

The warning was the fact that his status would disappear. He had gotten this status through the red-blood necklace that adored his neckline.

A necklace he saw by chance Seven years ago. If it wasn't for the necklace he would have been a dead man by now and thanks to it he had survived this long. The necklace to him was priceless, it was his life at the moment and instead of losing this, he would rather accept whatever absurd quest he would be given.

Ballantyne could see that the Hunters-Bureau had arrived meaning the battle would be starting soon. At that moment, he stepped onto the stage, a seat had been prepared just for rest by the stage. Taking his seat he could see the princess striding into the stadium.

Behind Virus was her dear chef Hathan while her teacher walked in front. Virus was covered from her nose down to her legs, leaving no skin exposed.

Ballantyne had asked why they made Virus wear such an outfit and Belor had responded saying it was due to her blood which was starting to evolve as she grew.

Initially, Ballantyne didn't understand but after some people from the kingdom began to whisper, he understood.

The moment Virus stepped on the stage, the whole crowd erupted in cheers, their voices were loud. Some had even amplified their voices with Mana which had made the ground to shake.

Virus took her seat at her spot, her teacher crunching next to her he whispered. Virus could only nod to all that he said, her expression couldn't even be seen. Hathan crunched next, explaining some things to her, and even without seeing her expression, it was obvious her mood had brightened.

Ballantyne watched all this interaction without a word. Once their five minutes were up, the referee being Virus's teacher stood at the center of the stage, and his appearance alone made the whole stadium turn quiet. He began his speech.

°I'm sure everyone knows who I am! But for those who don't, Let me introduce myself. I am Bacneas Blood Three great-grandfathers down the line, the first human warrior who led the war against The Sparrows! While also being the only human King with the Blood Gene!°

Ballantyne stood upright his shock couldn't be compared to that of Virus at the moment. Ballantyne didn't know that he was still alive.

°Today! My great, great, great-granddaughter had been challenged to a duel. But before we proceed, I have been training her secretly on how to use her bloodline to fight and I have asked her to use her bloodline and nothing else to defeat her opponent°

°Before we proceed, I would like to inform everyone of both parties' battle powers. Ballantyne's power has something to do with chains. I won't go into details but we would all find out. I am very sure we all know the power of the Bloodline, but I would still elaborate. It is the power of Blood!°

°That would be all!.... °before Bacneas could continue, he was interrupted by someone from the crowd

°Mighty warrior! What are the rules!?°

°Rules!? THERE ARE NO RULES! LET THE FIGHT BEGIN!°
