CHAPTER 18 :LINES

Alexa brought out the sheet that contains the dragon painting that was separated from the rest of the drawings, the dragon painting stood out and Alexa just couldn't keep her eye away from it , she never new that her big sis Mia could draw ,she had no idea and which is why she was amazed.

She turned to hannah before she asked " are there more paintings of sis Mia ?" her eyes was filled with eagerness to see more of Mia's paintings . They are in my room , but... hannah said as she couldn't complete her sentence when alexa rushed upstairs to get the paintings and Mia shook her head , she looked at the tairs as she wondered why she didn't put the sketch book in her own room .

Alexa later came down a pile of papers in her hand with some already stapled together like a book . Excitement was written all over her face as she sat down and looked at the sketches and paintings. There was no words she could use to discribe them . She saw a lot of hannah's portrait which she found to be beautiful, she could consider Mia as the best artist in the world . Just looking at it was enough to make her want to know how to draw . " Did you learn how to draw ?" Alexa asked still looking at the paintings "no , I just know it , and did a lot of practice till I got better " Mia casually replied ". So is it hereditary? " Alexa asked " hmm , I got it from my dad and I just draw for fun " Mia confirmed as Alexa nodded.

After a few minutes of looking at the paintings Alexa asked "can you teach me ", both Mia and Hannah looked at Alexa "teach u what ?" Mia asked trying to be sure of what Alexa wants to learn "how to draw " she replied .

Mia looked like she was thinking of something else before she asked "why do you want to learn how to draw ?" she wasn't surprised that Alexa wants to know how to draw but knowing her for a long time, Mia knew that drawing wasn't Alexa 's thing . The latter on the other hand took her time to reply , "I just want to know how to do it " she replied and Hannah chucked knowing how it will end up if Mia starts to teach Alexa how to draw.

Mia wanted to refuse but didn't want Alexa to disturb and pester her life so she reluctantly agreed "okay " she said and alexa beamed. Mia went up to her room to get another sketch book and pencil with other things that she might need . After setting all of her materials, " we should start with the basics " Mia said turning to Alexa, "which are? "Alexa asked looking little bit regretful of why she asked Mia to teach her , "it's just lines and don't give me that looks " Mia said pointing at Alexa's face as if she saw it coming. Looking extremely relived Alexa said "ookay". Mia started "before you start any drawing you draw your border line 1cm round your sketch book ....

5 MINUTES LATER

" Mia why is it so hard to learn but simple when you are looking at it " Alexa said, hearing what Alexa said Mia got lost in thought .

" Dad I was looking for you " little Mia said , turning to her smiling , Mia dad said "so how did you find me here? " "if you are not upstairs you will always be in your studio drawing that is why I came down here" five years old Mia replied while clinging onto her dad's arm . " so what are you drawing this time little?" Mia asked her dad . " You will see for yourself when I'm done" Mia dad replied focused on his drawing. After a few minutes has passed little mia still hugging her dad's back while he sits back suddenly felt an hand pulling her to the front as her dad made the five years old Mia sit on his lap "look I'm done " Mia's dad said ." Wowww you drew mum , wait is that not me beside her ?" she asked her dad "Yes , that is my cute princess beside your mum " . Mia's dad drew Mrs . Albert (Mia's mum) holding little Mia's hand as little Mia was eating chocolate.

" Dad teach me how to draw " little Mia said to her dad . "You already know how to draw so what should I teach you " Mia's dad replied looking a little bit curious. "I know that I can draw but I'm not as good as you ,I can only draw skies, sun , moon , tables, chairs, and some other simple stuffs but I don't know how to draw portraits just like this one " little Mia complained pointing to the portrait her dad drew. " You are not as good as me because you never tried how to draw them. If you had tried by now you would have been as good as I am because my little princess is a very fast learner " Mia's dad tried to encourage her . " Do you want to try now" Mia dad added "OK "little Mia said happily . Mia's dad brought out a new sketch paper and set it on the board for little Mia to use . With the help of her dad Mia started drawing . On getting to half of her mother's portrait that she is drawing "dad I'm tired, why is it so hard to draw ?, it actually looks simple to draw but it us quite hard ".

"OK then maybeyou should rest for a while then u can come back to it later " her dad suggested.

"Mia ,Mia ,Miaa" ,Alexa shouted while waving at Mia's face when she noticed that Mia was lost in thought ." I wonder what she is thinking about that she did not hear me , I hope she is not thinking about her dad because it will be really painful. I should have not told her to teach knowing that it would bring back the memories of her dad she has been trying to forget" Alexa thought to herself regretfully . "Mia " Alexa called out to her name once again , " yes , I'm with you " Mia replied "are you even paying attention to your pupil " Alexa said joking , " yes you said why is it so hard to learn but simple when you are looking at it " Mia said smiling "yes that is what I said and I am not learning again " Alexa said standing up from where she was sitting and going to meet Hannah ." Anut Hannah can we go to your mall" Alexa said to her big sis Hannah "why do you want to go, and are you no longer learning how to draw or did you give up soo early " Hannah asked Alexa " I figured that it's harder than it looks,who knew that drawing could have so many rules and also it's been a long time since I went there "alexa replied and Mia just giggled she was already expecting it .

"so we are going to the mall?"alexa asked and hannah nadded as they all prepared to go to the mall that was hannah's and sometimes Mia stays there and help her . Mia decided to go and change her clothes before they left .They arrived there after a few minutes and the trio went inside a big building to be greeted by people who are shopping for what they want and they passed by them to go up the stairs as they walked into a room and Mia slumped on the couch as if not having any plans to stand up . There were a few people there one that some of the workers are already attending to.

Being the one who is fond of drawing Mia sometimes draw the dress designs instead of hannah who doesn't mind if Mia insists on drawing it . Hannah went to the other side of the room to attend to a few costumers which will take a long time as some of them will most likely want get their dress made so she left m8a in the room while alexa went 5o follow her leaving Mia alone to deal with other things.
