CHAPTER 50: BETTER

"do you like your coffee with sugar or no sugar?"Lucy asked to Mia who had a sift smile on her lips

"sugar"she replied with her voice soft. Lucy had been taking care of her since she got back. It's only been a day and Mia was starting to feel a little better and refreshed. Jason who had just found out didn't let her move or do anything leaving everything in their hands .

Mia had along sleep thanks to the pills and had woke up the nextst morning late. No one had disturb her thanks to Ryan instructions who took care of her.

Earlier he warned her not to think to much so she won't hurt her head. Having a lot of questions in mind,Mia didn't want to think too much but relax.

"milk or no milk"asked Lucy holding the milk in her hands

"milk"Mia smiled looking back on her laptop at the movie she's watching.

"here you go"she childishly handed the coffee to Mia when a knock came and Jason entered with a tray on his hand,there was a sandwich on it. Mia enjoyed the feeling of being taken care of so much and was beaming inside,bit she also wanted to go out but as Ryan had told her,she needed to get better first.

He left for work earlier because of something important and had Lucy and Jason watch over her and also take care of her. Mia was grateful and they were both doing a great job in doing what Ryan had instructed. Taking the sandwich to eat when she noticed a small cake by the side along with some juice and fruits. At first she thought Lucy and Jason would also eat but it finally dawned on her that it was made for her. At this rate she would be full without needing to eat the whole thing.

The taste of the sandwich circulate round her mouth with her eyes closed, taking in the taste "it was great". Jason could make a sandwich perfectly but she couldn't say the same thing for other things. The last time he prepared fried rice, the taste was somewhat not describable. It wasn't salty but it didn't have any taste of deliciousness,but rather it tasted sour ,the rice alone was too soft as he didn't add the right amount of water.

Done with the sandwich"both of you should come join me with this"she said to them. They were seating on the couch.

"we are not hungry"Jason said shaking his head.

"I'm not taking that now come join me eating this"

"really you need to.."

"I insist"Mia cut Lucy off.

With both of them taking the tray away and eating the cake Jason had made,Mia felt full not having the chance to taste the desert. Lucy pulled out the drawer, taking out the medicine and handing it to Mia who gulped it down with water with a yawn. The drug was taking its effect slowly .

"rest well big sister"said Lucy when they both exited the room.

Mia laid down on the bed, turning to her side,it was just early during the day and she was laying down. Breathing out a sigh,she checked the calendar on the wall only to see that it's only a matter of time before the contract is over. She had complete faith in Ryan that he would do what he promised before the contract was over.

Her eyes soon felt heavy as it closed slowly,Mia relaxed , letting the sleep take over and drifting in to a deep slumber.

Lucy and Jason headed towards the kitchen,on the way Lucy asked

"our work is done for now"

"did you really make this?"she asked staring at the small cake. it was evident that she found it hard to believe that Jason could make it.

She froze when they got to the kitchen,Jason had made a huge mess there and he gave her a sly smile, walking ahead of her to the kitchen. Lucy knee that Ryan shouldn't come home and meet the place in a huge mess. She had also made a mess of it when they are arguing earlier.

There was a frown on Lucy face as she reluctantly walked inside the kitchen.

Long hours passed since when Mia slept and it was afternoon, almost evening to be precise. She had a peaceful sleep without any disturbance,there wasn't any noise that could wake her up. Het eyes moved around the room,it was well arranged,she hadn't been able to get out of bed for a while and arrange her own room so someone else must have done it.

Mia felt like she's been sleeping a lot and it was all thanks to the sleeping the pills she had taken. She wanted to be busy but knew that no one would allow her to do so.even if she was to do a little excercise ,she wanted to do something. Her room was quiet,but it was as if no one was around.

Mia carefully but her feet on the ground as she got up to exit the room, making her way downstairs. Her stomach growled screaming at her for food,this wasn't the first time it did that,she had been hungry after a long sleep before heading straight to the kitchen when she paused in her steps
