CHAPTER 99: MIA'S THOUGHTS

Ryan agreed with her with a hum. Mia said "I don't think he likes me either".

Ryan responded with"I don't want you to feel the need to have to impress him just to get his approval about us,we are fine without the approval of anyone"he said in serious tone turning to look at her before staring at the road.

"I won't..my mum said a similar thing about your uncle earlier today"mia revealed and Ryan raised one of his brows in question "did she now?" Mia nodded briefly looking out the window "it turns out you parents and my parents and your uncle knew each other and my mum and dad and your dad and uncle went to the same college,both our fathers were best of friends"

Now this was one thing Ryan wasn't aware of,he had already known their families were acquainted with each other in the past but not this acquainted but what more could be expect "she mentioned something about people's jealousy about her dad's and that's how I know that they've long been acquainted"

"did she tell you anything else?"

"That your uncle was in love with my mum"

Ryan felt his eyes narrow but there was evidence surpris on his face and mia didn't fail to miss it"I was surprised to when she told me"

Who knew there was more to the past tha he thought but he only made that makes suspicious about his uncle,if that was the case then he had always known about mia and that day at the mansion wasn't the first time he knew her. Being his uncle,Ryan knew that Charles was already aware of his relationship with the woman even before his visit.

"Mia stay wary of him,I don't want you getting hurt,you never know what he will do"ryan said to her.

"You think he's going to try to get to you through me?"knowing what kind of mind Charles carried she was now wary and understood Ryan's point. People can do anything if it means having power especially in the business world.

"Yes but if you feel something isn't right,you call or text me immediately"Ryan firmly instructed.

In another place,Sasha abruptly walked inside the house not caring if anyone was in the way, she stormed inside her room before locking the door as she didn't want anyone coming in. All her efforts were proven futile,Ryan wasn't one to be easily trapped,she tried to get on his good side in his past acting innocent and showing her intention were good but Ryan saw past it. Sasha didn't know how mia was able to make it to his side and it pissed her of.

Her step brother Carl did want anything to do with her or the family and things were slowly turning bad and judging by Ryan's words earlier today ,she could tell he was the one behind her parents bankruptcy but internally she was glad that things hadn't gone downhill as of yet but for how long .

After a while,she got up to go downstairs to get some water but on her way she head her parents voices from their room "how's that possible?" her mum asked to her her father and it got her curious. She walked closer so she could hear clearly what they were talking about without making her presence known

"I don't know but for some reason they seem to have changed their mind"thran replied with a frustrated sigh

Ivy sat down on the edge of the bed,she then asked "but you told them to give six months then why are they calling you this early?"

"And they agreed to it,it took a lot of convincing but they did all the people we borrowed from has given us a specific time to pay back but now..."he left the words hanging and incomplete.

Sasha who stood outside the room furrowed her eyebrows,her parents were in debt and they need to repay the people they borrowed money from. But what she also didn't understand was they were still five months left before her parents pay but they are already bothering them to lay now and it was at that moment she remembered Ryan's words ' it seems making your family go bankrupt and there's more for me to do'

He was behind this and she knew she was powerless against him,her brother had refused to help they would soon loose the company and other valuable properties,worse there's a high chance they would live on the streets of nothing is done quickly and Sasha didn't want her life to come to that,a lot of things were happening to her family and Ryan had left no opening for them to solve it. Every effort her dad put in bringing the company back to it's position has proved futile.

Mia sat down on the stool near the kitchen island,ryam had asked her not to move around as he helped her cooked while mia sat down doing nothing in particular "are you sure you don't want me to do anything I can help chop the vegetables"she offered hoping the man would listen to her but he was more stubborn.

"No there's no need for you to do anything"he said firmly,mia sighed with a pout and decided to look at the designs on the kitchen island.

Ryan then came to stand behind her and he asked "are you feeling better?" he heard her hum the aroma of the good filling the entire kitchen and it got mia mouth water as she felt Ryan miss her beside her head and she grinned before asking "did you know that Sasha went to the same school as us?"

Ryan responded with"hm ...why the question?"

"I was just curious"mia paused briefly turning to look at Ryan who signalled her to go on as she had more on her mind "I just couldn't help but think that she'll try to take you away...I know you won't pay attention to anyone else but the thought just came to my mind..."

Ryan the asked "is that all?"

"Is it irrational?'she asked him back and felt Ryan hold her chin, turning her face towards him where his black eyes stared at her intently but not one that scared her but she felt her heartbeat accelerate"you are the only one I ever loved and one that I'll continue to love and no other woman can take your place"

Ryan gently caressed her cheek kissing her on nose "I know that"mia whispered and Ryan replied with"then don't bother yourself with such thoughts,no one can take me away from you and no one can take you away from me ,you are all mine and I'm selfish when it comes to something that belongs to me,I don't share"

"I don't share you either"

As if realizing something mia then asked him"did you know about the smith's bankruptcy?" he was sure to know it ,Ryan is always up to date and he only confirmed her thoughts by saying "yes...they deserved that after all they've done to you"

"Hm, taking advantage of my father's death and tricking him when he was alive and sometimes I can't help but wonder if they had a direct hand in what happened to him"this struck something in Ryan's head as what she said was a possibility and he asked her "do you want me to investigate?" Seeing mia nod he leaned in to kiss her when two familiar voices interrupted their moments.

"Leve me alone why on earth did you drag me here?" Lucy yelled at the supposed person who was pulling her"I have every right to ,not when I saw what happened in that place"Jason replied and he appeared in the kitchen noticing the couples there"thought I smelt something delicious "he said with a smile while on the other hand Lucy struggle to break free from his grib .

"Brother tell Jason to let go of me I might have a bruise on my wrist "Lucy complained
