The next day arrived, and Layah turned on the bed.
She rubbed her eyes open and glanced beside her to see that the space beside her was empty.
"Oh my lord..." She exclaimed in a low voice, recalling that she had made him sleep with her last night.
"He's going to kill me..." She cynically shook her head and got up from the bed.
She walked towards the bathroom and stepped in to see that the maids had already prepared a nice bath for her.
A low smile emerged on her face and she slipped out of her clothes.
She went into the tub and relaxed inside it, then took her time to wash herself up.
She stepped out once she was done and slipped into a new set of training clothes.
She grabbed her sword from its rack and walked out to meet Damien.
She knew very well that he definitely wouldn't be in his chamber, so she proceeded straight to the training ground and, akin to her perceptions, he was there in the training ground with Leo and the other slaves.
A wide smile emerged on her face as she realized that he had actually let her sleep that long because of what happened to her last night.
"He isn't so mean afterall." She shook her head in amusement and walked over to them.
She cleared her throat and Damien, who was speaking to Leon, slowly turned around to look at her.
Their eyes met, and he stared at her for a few moments before averting his gaze.
"Why are you out here?" He asked, and she arched her brow in a bit of a confused manner.
"What... do you mean?" She inquired, and a slight annoyed breath exited Damien's nose.
"I gave you a day off, so I don't know why you're here." He clarified, and Layah narrowed her eyes into a thin line.
Was he avoiding her or what? He would usually talk to her while staring into her eyeballs like he would crush her, but now he was just...avoiding eye contact with her for reasons she can't tell.
"Hmm..." She pondered within herself before approaching him.
"I don't really need a day off from training. I am totally fi-"
"I don't care. Go back to your chamber and rest. You are one of our important slaves, so I won't risk anything happening to you. Do you understand that?"
He said with his eyes finally meeting hers, and before Layah could utter a word, he walked away, leaving her with her mouth open.
"Buffoon!!" She scoffed and stormed away to walk back to her chambers.
She had yet to arrive back to her chambers when, out of nowhere, two maids, who were none other than Limah and Livia, walked out and blocked her way, preventing her from moving.
She shifted to the side to continue walking, but they, however, blocked her way yet again, showing that it wasnt accidental in the first place.
Layah's brows scrunched together in a bit of displeasure, and she proceeded to question them.
"Who are you guys? And what do you want?" She asked, and the two looked at each other before abruptly grabbing onto her arms.
"The princess wants you in her chambers, so be a good girl and follow us."
They said, and Layah's face darkened instantly.
"What do you mean? Let go of me!" She snatched her arms and glared viciously at them.
"Are you both out of your minds?! You walk out of nowhere and grab me like that as if I owe you or something!"
She scowled, and Limah laughed histeriacally along with Livia, as though Layah had just made the biggest joke in the world.
"Quite an arrogant slave you are! Anyways, if you know what's best for you, obediently follow us, or else, you might lose your head earlier than expected. "
Livia threatened with a smug look on her face and began to walk away with Limah, obviously expecting Layah to follow after them.
Layah watched them as they walked further away, and with a mocking expression on her face, she shrugged and strolled towards her chamber.
...
Limah and Livia arrived at the princess's royal chamber and turned around expecting to see Layah behind them, but their jaws dropped in surprise when they didn't even see her shadow.
"Wh-where is she?" Limah asked, and quite confused as well, Livia looked around, and it dawned on them when they couldn't find her anywhere.
"She's really bold!"
Limah said with deep shock in her eyes, and their souls nearly leaped out of their bodies when the door of the princess's chamber swung open, revealing Hazel, who was dressed elegantly with her hair beautifully adorned with gorgeous jewelry.
"Where is she?" She asked, and the two shivered in fear, as though they had seen a ghost.
"Your-your highness." They stuttered, and Hazel's face darkened instantly, noting that they probably messed up.
"You didn't bring her, did you?" She asked, and they lowered their heads in deep fear.
"Your highness, please forgive us. We made a terrible mistake."
They frantically pleaded for leniency, and completely irritated by their useless plea, Hazel glared at them and turned around to walk back into her chambers. "You are both very useless, and if you are not careful, I will replace you both sooner or later."
