Chapter 11: Journey 2

Jane was still oblivious to what was about to happen to her, the man in the mask was done attaching his silencer and was already taking aim, when he suddenly felt a huge pressure that seemed to be crushing him, he couldn't even move a finger to push the trigger.

Jane boarded the taxi and the taxi sped away, the masked man finally felt the pressure receed, he took off his mask in anger and revealed a grotesque face. His face was so horribly deformed and mangled, and there were no ears visible and he had only one eye, the other was an empty socket, the stench coming off him was so horrible there was no living creature in close proximity to him.

"Your next attempt on her life would lead to your demise, I would torture you so horribly, your soul would be contaminated with madness" a voiced whispered in his ears, he could feel Goosebumps all over his skin, he knew the owner of this voice had something to do with the powerful pressure that froze him earlier on.

"Such a weakling" zagreel said while puffing out smoke, he was dressed in a black shirt, with rolled up sleeves and black trousers to match, there were strange tattoos on his forearms that seemed to be moving constantly, his hair was so white it seemed blinding.

Klaus was patrolling the area around the tent when he came across a very strange occurrence, he noticed that there was a tree that looked to be glowing, he decided to approach it and investigate further, on close inspection he saw that it was actually the flowers on the tree that glowed, and the strange thing about these flowers was that each one of them gave off a very distinct colour, no flower on the tree had the same colour. He could also see a lot of smaller animals trooping towards the tree looking dazed, as soon as they came about ten meters close to the tree, something really strange happened, weird looking roots came out from the ground and dragged the animals underground, seeing this he decided not to progress any further and returned to the tent to rest since he was done with his watch was over.

"What is it" Victor grumbled groggily

"I am done, it is time for your watch to start" Klaus replied

Victor stood you and left the tent, standing in front of the tent he stretched and yawned, he was still feeling very sleepy and dull, so he decided to do a bit of work out to get his senses sharp, after his little warm up, he decided to survey his surroundings and encountered the same scene as Klaus but decided to ignore till everyone was awake so they could investigate it together.

After a while it was Dawn again, Feng tried getting the rest of the group to wake up so they could continue their journey, while they were packing up the tent Victor approached klaus.

"Did you notice anything weird during your patrol yesterday night" Victor asked

"I did, it seems like we both had the same experience yesterday, let's talk to Feng first and see what he has to say about it" Klaus answered

The group was done packing up the tent and started to set out toward the jungle till Klaus halted them by calling feng's attention

"I saw a really weird scene yesterday, I saw that true or there light up, and animals approached the tree like zombies and got eaten by the tree, is that tree dangerous, and is it something we should look out for while on this training quest" Klaus asked

"That tree there is a foolsap, it lures the animals with certain pheromones and snatches them when they come into a ten meter radius of the tree, it doesn't really kill them or harm them it just takes some of their energy to nourish itself and releases them later, if you noticed it only attracted smaller animals, so you need not worry about it, it doesn't harm humans, if I have answered yout questions let's keep moving" Feng barked

"This island is a strange one, there are a lot of weird animals and plants here even the food is weird remember that cave we appeared in and how the water there seemed to energize is whenever we came in contact with it" Chen said

"I do remember the feeling was kind of akin to being juiced up on drugs" prince retorted

While they were trudging ahead the group was being trailed a feline looking silhouette, Feng had already noticed the presence of their stalker but pretended not to be aware, he wanted to see how well they could defend themselves in the face of unknown danger.

After a while the sun was beginning to get hotter again and some members of the group we're beginning to complain of thirstiness.

"You guys need to be a little more patient, we would be approaching a body of water that should be hygienic enough for you to drink from, though I assure you that very soon, thirst would be the least of your problems" Feng said calmly

"Why are the animals and plants on this island so different from the ones outside the island" prince asked

"Yes the water feels weird too, anything you eat here seems to review e your energy and vitality" Romeo added

"There is a lot I can not tell you for now but what I can tell you for now is that this island is a blessed one, with time you would understand more" Feng replied

As the group progressed they approached a copse, the heat reduced considerably immediately they enter the path created through the copse, the canopy of trees provided a sort of shelters for them and the environment was a bit dark, a large dark shape whizzed by

"Did you guys see that" Chen asked

"See what" Bryan replied

"Forget it I thought I saw something" Chen replied

"Here I was about to applaud them for being observant, such a shame" Feng thought

ROAR!!!!!

ROAR!!!!

A loud roar that was accompanied by a gust of wind interrupted feng's train of thoughts

"What the f*** is that" Chen asked

"Seems like it has finally decided to hunt, be prepared" Feng said
