Chapter 17: Training1

The group gathered together once more and set up the tent where they would spend the night, the air was quite cold but they had no option but to endure the biting cold, their only fear was frostbite, but nonetheless feng lay there looking nonchalant and unconcerned about the whole situation.

"How can a monk act like this, I feel like I definitely had the wrong impression of what monks we're like, I always did think they were Noble and kind, but coming to this temple has show me a different side of things entirely" Bryan complained bitterly to chen

"I hope you know I heard that, on this island the monks are not your orthodox type of monks, we have character here, even one is allowed to be distinct and we are not subject to such robotic and simple minded behaviour, well since you have decided to talk on topics you know nothing about, you are up for first watch" Feng said as he turned his back on the group.

"Again? Shouldn't it be rotated" Bryan complained once again

"Do I look like I care about your feelings? You are here to train not joke around, I am trying to rest my eyes, so I would really appreciate it if you can be quiet" Feng said dismissively

Chen suddenly remembered that he got a notification and decided to check it out, he saw that it was a reward for completing his task, he was very estatic about this and decided to select the reward icon provided to him by the system.

[Congratulations death control has increased to 15% level1]

[Can now drain targets life force by 3%]

[Can only be used once a day]

"What fuc**ry is this, the system must be playing games with me, such little reward for such a life threatening task" Chen thought angrily

Chen was livid, he couldn't believe his luck, he almost died while battling that snow jaguar with his team, he didn't expect that the system would give such a low reward for that quest, after a few minutes of thought Chen started to have a rethink, he felt that the system probably assigned the mission to be an easy one but since they were weak they couldn't carry out the task as easily as they should

"More reason why I should work harder" Chen thought with determination

Soon enough it was morning again and Feng proceeded to wake everyone up to address them on the training they would be embarking on for the day.

"First off we would start by meditating, we would have to look for an area that blocks off the sun, we would be meditating for a few hours so as to control and master certain breathing patterns to achieve proper blood circulation to every part of our body so we could at least reach a higher potential, after that we can proceed to the next training I have set out for you guys" feng instructed

The group found a place that protected them from the heat of the sun and assumed a meditative position just in the way Feng had shown them to do it.

"Now I am going to teach you the breathing patterns you would be practicing during this meditation, I suggest you pay proper attention to this ad I wouldn't want to repeat myself multiple times"Feng said

"First you start off by sitting down in a comfortable position as you all are doing now, then you proceed to lay your palms on knees with your fingers spread wide open, then you start by taking deep fast breaths with your eyes close to allow you lungs to get used to the pressure, then you can begin to take in slow concise breaths, the amount of air you take in must be consistent and the intervals between them must be consistent too, when you have gotten a hang of that then with your eyes close you picture your body with you mind eye and try to control where the oxygenated blood flows" Feng explained thoroughly

"Was I understood" Feng asked

"Partially, but let's try it out, we can only get better through practice" Chen said

The group assumed the meditative position once again and tried to focus and practice what Feng had taught but try as they might they couldn't get the breathing patterns right.

"Loosen your abdomens, you are the ones holding yourselves back" Feng said in a calm voice

They followed his instructions once again and seemed to be getting it right, after a while they could now control whichever part of their body they wanted to move the oxygenated blood to, it was quite the amazing feeling for them, when they left their sheltered positions they could see that it was noon already and the sun had peaked, there seemed to be a coconut tree close to the area where they just had their meditation, Chen asked if they could have some something to eat and Feng pointed towards the coconut tree.

Chen shook the coconut tree and even tried throwing stones at the coconuts on the tree but they wouldn't budge, frustrated he decided to go ask Feng for help, Feng walked towards the tree and put his hands on it, the tree looked to vibrate for a while, then suddenly it seemed like coconuts we're raining from the sky.

"How did you manage to do that" prince asked with enthusiasm

"I haven't seen anyone with no knowledge in numbers and integers trying to learn calculus, you have to be patient and learn the basics things first" Feng replied sarcastically

"Wow I am shocked you know about calculus, do you guys have schools here where they teach those" prince asked

"Do I look like an illetrate to you?" Feng asked with disdain

"That was an innocent question there is no need to get upset about it, I just felt like with the whole setting it would be difficult for people here to have such formal education" prince replied

"Well as you can see your assumptions are wrong" Feng said dismissively

The group hurriedly ate the coconut and drank the juices up, and lay down to rest.

"I wouldn't bother doing that if I were you guys, wait here for a few moments, so I can get the area for the second training today in order" Feng said before walking away
