Chapter 19: Exhaustion

Before Chen knew it he had already completed two rounds, he felt very tired and lethargic but he didn't have any other option, so he kept it moving. Everyone else had also completed two rounds including Bryan who seemed to be the laziest amongst the all of them, by sunset everyone was done, Feng applauded them with a smile on his face but they couldn't careless since breathing was a considered a chore to them at them at the moment, given how fatigued they were.

"That has to be the hardest thing i have ever done, if we weren't slightly enhanced physically it would have been practically impossible for us to complete the task in such a short amount of time, hell we wouldn't have gotten it Done in days either" prince said

"I am just glad we are done with it and can probably move on to the next part of the training, if it does get harder than this, I suggest Feng should load a gun and blast our brains off at least it would be less painful" Bryan chipped in

"Speak for yourself bro, I have died once, Courtsey of the bag of controversies here, I didn't like the feeling, so whenever you feel like making such statements you can personalize it" Klaus said while pointing at Bryan

"Relax bro I was just making a joke" braan replied

"Well personalize your jokes" Klaus said once again.

Feng saw that rallying the group to erect the tent would be futile so he left to do it himself, after a few minutes he returned, and lay down with them staring into the horizon.

"There's a clear pond close to this place, anyone who feels like taking a dip can go there and make use of it, there are no wild or dangerous animals in it" Feng said

"That would have to wait since I don't think there is anyone here whose legs can support his weight" Chen replied

After a while everyone had fallen asleep, Feng was still awake he looked at the stars in the sky deep in thought, the grandmaster never really told him how these people got to the island, neither did he give any reasons as to why Feng had to train them, he had never doubted the grandmasters judgement so he decided to carry on with the task even though he didn't feel comfortable with the grandmasters decision, this was why his behaviour in general was aloof and cold towards them, he didn't trust them but he had to commend their spirit, he never expected them to complete the task he had given them before sunset, his threat about abandoning them if they failed to complete the task was just a bluff, since he had strict orders from the grandmaster not to return with them untrained.

After a while Chen stirred awake, he saw that he had fallen asleep on the open field and that the rest of the group was still asleep, the only person missing there was Feng, Chen proceeded to wake everyone up and they proceeded to go towards the pond that Feng had pointed them to,

The pond was clear and with enough light one could actually see the little rocks at the bottom of the pond, the pond reflected the sky clearly and the moon was as bright as ever, everyone stripped down to their briefs before taking a dip in the pool, it was so cold they felt the chill in their bones, after a while they got used to the temperature, but couldn't help the chattering of their teeth.

"Feng could have at least given us heads up regarding the temperature of this pool, it is so cold in here" Romeo said

"At least it has refreshed our mind and body, I now feel very alert, and even though my muscles are quite sore it has gotten a little numb now, so I guess it is for the best" prince replied

They eventually got tired of staying in the pond and got out, but couldn't find anything to dry their body with, and they could use any of their clothes, since that would mean they would have to stay the night without any clothes on them, and that would be more horrible than, whatever it was they were experiencing at the moment, they grabbed their clothes and took off towards the tent, at least the tent was warmer than it was outside, by the time they got into the tent they were shivering badly, luckily for them the water on their bodies seemed to have tried off.

"We didn't think that through before getting into the pool, what a horrible experience" Chen said

"Wow this is the first time you are complaining about these conditions, I was beginning to think you were a masochist" Bryan quiped

Chen duitufully ignored Bryan and proceeded to put on his clothes, Feng was still nowhere to be seen, but no one seemed to mind, since they were confident that he was able to handle himself, irrespective of the circumstance.

"Since we don't know where Feng is, and everyone here is exhausted who would volunteer to take the first watch" Klaus asked

"Let me do it, technically I brought this on everyone since it's my fault you guys are here in the first place" Chen said and left the tent

He sat outside while staring into the starry sky, he tried to clear his mind, his whole life he had been a passenger, never mind the fact that he was a CEO to him that was an unfortunate position which he was forced into, he never asked for the responsibilities that were given to him, including the present situation but he couldn't do anything about it, Feng approached Chen silently from behind and startled him.

"What the f*"* man, would it kill you to do things the normal way?" Chen asked angrily

"Well I just wanted to see if you were actually alert, unsurprisingly you were not, I really feel for the guys inside who thought you were actually taking watch, you can go back in, I would take it from here" Feng said

Chen shook his head and walked back into the tent, he could hear Feng saying something, but he couldn't be bothered, whatever he had to say could wait till tomorrow, he was very exhausted and had to sleep.
