Chapter 21: Fredrick

Joe joe flagged down a taxi, as the driver slowed down as he approached joe joe, but seeing the appearance of joe joe, the driver became skeptical about picking him up because he looked very rough, but decided on picking him up anyway since he needed the money at the moment, he had a lot of financial issues so he concluded that the worst that could happen would be not getting paid by the passenger.

Joe joe took a seat at the back and observed the driver through the rear mirror, he saw that the driver was a portly middle-aged man with a lot of fat rolls on his neck, and that the driver also seemed to mind his business, and focus on the road, joe joe gave the directions to the and after about thirty minutes they got to the location joe joe had pointed out to the driver, joe joe paid of the driver and he speed off not wanting to look back at the creepy passenger he just dropped off, he always felt threatened while joe joe was in the taxi, it seemed to him that Joe joe was always giving off an evil vibe.

Joe joe stood in front of a large gate and sighed, as he approached the gates they opened automatically and he walked in, there was a driveway and in front of him stood a French chateau.

"These rich folks are always spending unnecessarily, he hardly stays here" joe joe thought disdainfully.

The driveway was bordered by nice looking lawns and a few gardens for beautification, there was also a water fountain and a lot of exotic looking cars parked around, joe joe paid no heed to this and walked briskly towards the mahogany double doors, he was about to knock when the butler opened the door and led him into the great Hall, he might not have accepted it but he was awed, there were a lot of windows and a table was situated at the end of the hall, he could also see a fire place too, he took a look at the floor and saw that hardwood was used for the flooring.

"Must be nice to be rich" he mused

"Kindly wait here for a while master would meet with you soon" the butler said before turning around and walking away.

Joe joe didn't payuch mind to the butler at first but had his interest piqued at the moment, the butler was quite slim and looked prim and proper while also being rigid, he thought everything about the butler was rigid, be it the way he walked or spoke, joe joe eventually sat down on one of the available chairs and waited for his host.

A handsome that seemed to be in his sixties soon appeared in the great Hall with his robe, he was on the tall side, about six feet and three inches and had a lot of laugh lines on his face, he also seemed to carry himself with dignity and had a head full of white hair, he also kept his graying beard trimmed too, joe how hurriedly stoop up to welcome the man

"Good day sir" joe joe said with a smile

"I have told you countless time to address me as Frederick I do not enjoy such formality" the man said dismissively.

"So tell me why are you here" Fredrick queried

"The man I sent to carry out the mission failed to execute it, but I did punish him for his transgressions" joe joe said with a smile, trying to please Fredrick

"I see, who knew that it would be that difficult getting you guys to kill a defenseless lady, who has no protectors at the moment, explain to me in detail how she managed to escape unharmed" Fredrick enquired calmly

Joe joe took his time explaining to Fredrick all that happened when leo tried to take out Jane, Fredrick listened seriously, the pleasant smiles on his face had been wiped off and what stared at joe joe was a very angry man, in that period the atmosphere seemed to have gotten heavier and hotter, joe joe was sweating profuesly and finding it very difficult to breathe, the air was permeated with killing intent, Fredrick pupils had suddenly gone from their sky blue colour to a red colour, the whole building began to shake and the wooden table in front of them was spiltting, joe joe was trying very hard to choose his words carefully so as not to displease Fredrick, since he knew that any mistake from him would result to his immediate demise, all of a sudden everything reverted to how it was previously and Fredrick was smiling again.

"Seems like some of the big guns finally decided to come out and play a little but no worries, it has been a very long while since I had fun and this might just be what I was looking for, you should know that the procurement of this company would go a very long way in helping us achieve our goal, so right now I can see you are seriously lacking in power since you couldn't handle just a minute portion of my power, so I would give you more power" Fredrick snapped his finger and suddenly a red crystal.appeared in his hands, the crystal seemed to contain a liquid that was constantly spinning, looking at if for a prolonged amount of time seemed to have a dizzying effect.

Fredrick handed the crystal over to joe joe and instructed him to swallow it in his presence.

"I just given you a lot more responsibility and I hope you do not disappointed me, we need to get this done with before the convergence happens, remember hat happened to bones when the king failed me and got killed, I am sure you wouldn't want that to happen to you" Fredrick threatened with a smile.

Joe joe swallowed and nodded he could still see the remain of bones in his head, he wouldn't wish such an end even on his worst enemy, he bid Fredrick goodbye and hurriedly left the great Hall, he was escorted outside by the butler, when he left the manor gates he could finally breathe freely.

"That was so scary, I really dislike coming over to this place, it is quite unfortunate that leo couldn't handle such an easy task and has put me in this situation, well at least I got a power upgrade" joe joe said with a smile
