The beginning

The advent of islam was an event that changed world history. For centuries the Romans and the Sassanid Persians were fighting for dominance but the war of 602 to 628 weakened both empires . At the time the people Arabia worshipped Arab paganism and some were Monophysite Christians. Islam started in the ancient holy land of Mecca a city that is part of the rich merchant city states of the Hejaz region. In 570 or 571 a boy named Muhammad is born in the quraysh tribe . During his life and business travels he would meet various persons which would later become the sahaba meaning 'the companion' at the age of 40 he became a prophet and would preach the religion of islam . But the Meccans didn't receive it well and started the persecution of the Muslims. And due to this Muhammad migrated to yathrib which would later be called 'medina' meaning the city of the prophet. And after three years of struggle the Muslims won against the quraysh and conquered Mecca in a bloodless siege . The conquests of Muhammad continued and soon all of Arabia was under the banner of islam . The strife within the Sassanid Persia led to the Muslim conquest of Yemen of Oman . After the death of the Prophet Muhammed his successor and the first rashidun caliph Abu bakar fought the rebels in the ridda wars and consolidated his control over the Arabian peninsula and the time of Muslim empires and kings was just beginning.
