17 SOMETHING IS WRONG SOMEWHERE

Now, princess Fen was afraid to come out from her room because she lacks what to tell her father for him to listen to her.

It was a new morning after what happened the previous day. She was so sorry to hurt the guests that came for celebration, but she did it for her own good.

Whenever princess Fen thought of the best way to explain to her father to pardon her, she began to think about the things he was saying and how he was sounding the previous day. All those words always pierced her heart. She was supposed to wake up with joy, but sadness took over everything in her life.

She wouldn't have slept if not because of Shu who sneaked into her room at night to pamper her. Likewise, she wouldn't have been able to close her eyes to sleep last night.

Princess Fen sat quietly on her bed and a knock came from her door, fear immediately gripped her. It was neither her father nor someone was sent by her father to call her.

Then a voice came from the door," Princess Ai, it's me, Shu." At the hearing of the name, princess Fen felt like a heavy load has been removed from her head. She quickly stood up from the bed and headed to the door.

Finally, someone came to her rescue.

"My princess," Shu called out as Princess Fen was trying to unlock the door. After opening the door, Shu stepped into the room and princess Fen quickly slammed the door and lock it again from inside.

Princess Fen couldn't hesitate to hug Shu for a cuddle, and Shuo hugged her back. Princess Fen began to wail and Shu freed herself from Princess Fen hug as she tried to stop her from crying. Shu slowly cleaned the princess tears with her palms.

"No… No…no, stop crying. You need to be strong. They have made you cry many times and no one cares if you get hurts. Why are crying over what they deserve double? Everyone seems not to understand you, so what they think about you now doesn't matter." Shu said to princess Fen as she patted her cheeks.

"You won't understand, Shu," princess Fen muttered.

"Understand what, my princess? What exactly did I not understand? Is it the disappointment or about your father who doesn't care about you as a princess, huh?" Shu almost yell at her as she took off her hands from princess Fen cheeks.

"Try to hear me out first." Princess Fen smirked.

"I apologize for that, my princess. What is it?" Shu calmly asked.

Princess Fen closed her eyes as she took in a long breathed and then out, to calm herself down.

"My father came here yesterday when the guests were busy waiting in the hall for the commencement of the wedding. The way he was screaming my name and the way he was hitting the door makes me terrify. Few minutes after he had been standing at the door entrance, the prince also came and met him. When the prince saw the anger in him, he tried to calm him down, but my father couldn't listen, and it almost resulted in a quarrel. I was unable to figure out what stopped their discussion, all I can remember was that, I was crying loudly crying inside the room. I didn't notice the time they left, but I believed that my father must be angry at me." Princess Fen explained to Shuo as she slowly walked up to her bed. The tears from her eyes has ceased, but there were still some drops of the tears on her cheeks. She used the back of her hand and wiped it.

"Now I understand. I should have listened to you first. But I don't think His Majesty is still angry like yesterday. His anger was for that very moment, but it must have reduced or gone away." Shu assured her and walked up to where princess Fen was standing.

"Try to forget about what happened. Pretend as if nothing ever happened, and you will be okay." Shu encouraged her.

"Did you say I should pretend? How will I pretend when I know that I am going to face my father? Okay, let's assume I pretend, will my father too pretend?" Princess Fen turned around and faced Shu and asked her.

Hmm, Shu sighed and crossed her arms on her chest. They stared at each other for a few seconds.

"My princess, just believe that everything will be okay, and it will work out. Trust me, His Majesty may be angry at you, but that was yesterday and not today. If he is furious at you as you said, he would have come to check on you this morning, but he didn't. I'm beginning to have feelings that something is wrong somewhere." Shu said as her face gave an angry expression.

"What do you mean by that?" Princess Fen asked with a serious tone.

"Her Majesty!" Shu answered.

"My mother? What happened to her?" Princess Fen curiously asked.

"Nothing happened to her, she wasn't out from her room the whole day." Shu replied.

"What! Are you joking or serious?" Princess Fen asked as she looked completely lost.

"Am not joking, I served her both breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and she was looking strong and healthy. But she was looking unhappy, and I was so confused, but I couldn't ask her, you know how she sometimes behaves when she is angry," Shu responded to princess Fen.

It seems strange to the both of them because the queen was supporting the king about the marriage, but she didn't go out of her room when the day she has been waiting for has finally arrived. Silent was the best thing to observe in the room to figure out some things, but no idea was coming to their senses of reasoning.

Princess Fen decided to sit at the bed. She was in a deep thought as she wondered why the queen didn't step out of her room.

"Could it be that she was only pretending to support my father? No, I don't think so, it can't be possible. My mother has never pretended to like anything when she dislikes it." Princess Fen mumbled.

Although, the queen always obey the king but if she obeys to do what she doesn't want to do, you will notice it because she will take up to three days before she talks to anyone in the person. She rather stays lonely than talking to anyone. Everyone in the palace will continually try to avoid her when they noticed these.

On the wedding day, King Dingbang asked the queen to stay indoor until the guests are gone. She had to obey him, even if it means to be absent in her daughter's wedding. It was for her and the king's benefits.

What Shu just told the princess about her mother made her to develop many questions in her mind. Her thoughts were not on what her father is going to tell her, she was focusing on her mother now. But princess Fen must still see her father as long as she will come out of the room. Anyway, that wasn't a problem. She believes in Shu, something was wrong somewhere, but what could that be? It is what none of them knew.

Shu kept on advising her to go to her mother and find out what exactly was going, but princess Fen was not a hundred percent sure that her mother will tell her the truth.

Princess Fen thought of all the angles in life that can make her mother behave the way she did yesterday, but she couldn't catch a glimpse of anything.

She finally came to a conclusion that they had a quarrel, but she wasn't sure about it.

While they were still in the room, a heavy knock came from the door.
