38 I HAVE RUN OUT OF PATIENCE

Prince Gen got home, looking tired and angry. He climbed down his horse and handed his dagger to commander Bingwen to sharpen it.

As soon as princess Fen sighted him from the window, she took herself inside and closed the window. She went to the bed and sat down as she patiently waited for Prince Gen's arrival.

Her eyes were swollen from crying. Princess Fen locked herself inside their chamber after Prince Gen left in the afternoon. She cried her eyes out for making him angry, even when he was trying to be nice to her.

Prince Gen opened the door, and he was shocked to his bones. Someone hugged him so tight. It was princess Fen.

This was the first time she hugged him after going out the whole day.

Was she planning to ask for forgiveness or what?

She has never annoyed him and still asks for forgiveness, she always claims to be right all the time rather. The hug seems to be like the afternoon hug, which she later betrayed when they got to bed.

"I apologize for hurting you. Please, forgive me for treating you badly." She pitifully spoke.

Prince Gen stood speechless without uttering a word, nor did he hug her back. He never wanted to believe her because even when she doesn't apologize, her appearance always shows that she's sorry deep down.

Silence rules for a few minutes before prince Gen finally opens his mouth and replies.

"L-let go of me when you are done apologizing." Prince Gen responded with a pale face.

"A-are you joking?" She asked with a low tone as she raised her head and looked into his eyes.

"You heard me well. I would rather not repeat myself, if not, you would hate me!" He warned and she immediately freed him.

"Your Highness, are you sure you are fine?"

"Do I look like someone drunk? Huh? Well, for your information, I'm fine." He yelled and pushed her out of his Way. "Am not a toy that you will play with, whenever you feel like. I am your husband, woman!" He added as he pointed at her with his finger.

Prince Gen was furious. His anger can boil a whole crate of eggs. Princess Fen, on the other hand, stood freezing with fear. Her legs were shivering like a frozen bird in the wilderness.

Prince Gen sat on the bed as he burned with anger. He was breathing heavily and fast. The room was filled with tension. He stood up and sat back on the bed again. However, he was unable to settle down in one place. Instead, he stood up again as he paced up and down in the room.

Princess Fen could see the anger in him. Fear took the best of her as she wondered what would happen next. Was he going to pour his anger on her, or he would forgive her?

She saw this moment coming since he angrily left in the afternoon. But she never expected it to go this far. Tears were dropping down her cheeks as she stared at him with fear.

"You either stop crying or I will show you hell. What did you take me for? You have been playing with my mentality and I have been keeping quiet, and you think I'm a fool? I try to keep my promise, yet, you were pushing me to where I never wanted to reach." Prince Gen spoke bitterly.

The princess laid her back on the wall and buried her face in her palms. She bitterly sobbed with no help. Prince Gen took pity on her and thought of approaching her, but then, something held him back.

"She deserves it." He thought.

"No, she didn't. She deserved to be loved." Another thought came up.

He took two steps towards her and stood some inches away from her. Prince Gen raised his right hand to touch her, but no, pride took over him. He then drew back his hand and dropped it.

Curiosity and pride continued playing with his senses and he was confused about what to do.

"No!" Prince Gen screamed out so loud that his guards rushed into the room. His head was between his two palms as he pressed it against each other. It was as if he was about to explore. His brain was overheated to a hundred percent degree with overthinking.

"Your Highness! Your Highness!" The guards called out as they brought out their swords, ready to attack.

"What happened?" Commander Bingwen, who just stepped into the room, also asked, confused.

"We don't know." The guards both answered.

Commander Bingwen sighted prince Gen holding his head up. His face looks like an angry lion who has been bitten by its prey. They stared at him with fear as they wondered what happened.

"He has never behaved like this before." Commander Bingwen said as he turned around and saw princess Fen standing at one angle of the room.

"We are sorry, My Lady. We never knew you were here." Commander Binges said to princess Fen, who was trying everything humanly possible to clean her tears.

"Y-yes, yeah sure. I don't know." She was confused about what to say.

"My Lady, are you alright?" Commander Bingwen asked, confused.

"Sure, I am. I'm trying to take something out of my eyes." She lied.

"I apologize for that."

"My Lady, are you okay?" It was Shu who also rushed out of her room to witness the causes of the screams.

"Sure." Princess Fen answered.

Prince Gen was still standing in that position without moving an inch.

Princess Fen got scared and ran to an angle in the room when prince Gen screamed out. She was scared that he was about to do something bad to her, which made the guards not aware of her presence when they came in.

Surprisingly, king Wang Lei also came into the room.

"What brought the sound I heard from my chamber? Whose voice was that?" King Wang Lei asked, and commander Bingwen pointed at prince Gen, who was still standing firm on the ground.

King Wang Lei took a good look at prince Gen. He walked up to him and asked, "Son, what's happening?" Prince Gen never answered. His eyes were tightly closed and his face was still facing up.

Other palace servants were standing at the chamber entrance as they stared at the ongoing drama.

Silence reigns amidst them, until Prince Gen finally said to everyone, "everyone should leave." Some left, but some were still standing there. Princess Fen embraced Shu as they stood hugging each other like glued twins. Shu could feel princess Fen shivering and how fast her heart was pounding inside.

"Talk to me, son." King Wang Lei said with a calm voice.

"I said everyone out!" Prince Gen yelled. Within minutes, everyone was out of sight, including his father, king Wang Lei.

Shu took princess Fen out of their room to her room. Everyone was terrified seeing prince Gen behaving strangely. He was so out of control that he didn't recognize his father's presence.

King Wang Lei was worried. So, he had to summon Princess Fen's presence. When he got the information that she was afraid and unstable, he decided to let her be.
