Moving Forward

The fire in front of Ahli had their tongue danced, casting his shadow to dance at his back. Yet, Ahli did not care for it as he placed his stare at the flame itself. In his mind, still ran in rumble the end of the fight that he had with his other self. Even though he technically gone, Ahli did not feel that he became a better person than he was before, nor even became less that he used to.

"So, do you regret that he was gone?"

The question from Tala was able to make him look away from the fire, shifting his view to the old man. However, even though he responded immediately, Ahli was not able to process the question immediately and it took him quite some time to give an answer.

"It's not that…"

"Then?"

Tala pushed for an explanation as even Ahli felt that his answer was not clear enough. Even so, it was not easy to find the right reason.
