Chapter 24

With the reminder from the mistress, Jack finally gained his confidence back as he took a peek at Jason who just stood in place in shock as to the mistress's reply and jack could not help but feel angry for having humiliated himself before his mistress and the slaves.

"Is just as I thought, you haven't taken a life before and you still have the guts to come to me for a deal which I would never agree to even if you were to kill jack before me" reply the mistress as she got down from the carriage before taking her whip out and whip a slave that was close by.

"Just take a look at all of you, hoping this fool would be able to save you all but guess what, you all are not going anywhere" she said with a smile as she whip another slave.

"Stop it" Jason cried out in anger.

The mistress had to stop whipping the slave and turn a smiling face at Jason before speaking up.

"What are you going to do this time around if I don't stop hitting them"? She asked.

Jason didn't give her a reply but just stood while looking at her angrily and seeing that he isn't saying anything, the mistress turn her attention back to the slaves as she lash out her whip at the nearest slave.

The more she continue to whip the slaves, the angrier Jason get and what annoyed him the most was the fact that there is nothing he could do apart from watching her as she continues to whip them with gritted teeth.

While all this was happening, jack was overjoyed as he keep his eyes glue to his mistress performance but it got to the point where the whipping has gotten into the head of the mistress as she continues to whip them until all of a sudden when the sound of broken bone rang out with Jack agonized scream following the sound of the broken bone.

The mistress had to stop and turn around only for her to see Jason standing behind Jack with his hand holding onto Jack's right hand which doesn't seem to be functioning anymore.

"Remember when I said I would let you go if your mistress played along, well I wasn't lying when I told you" Jason said with a deep frown on his face while staring at the mistress but the words he spoke were directed at Jack who was drenched in sweat.

"Well well, looks like there is something he could do after all" replied the mistress while still keeping the smile on her face but the whip was kept away.

Walking back to where she took a seat, the mistress asked Jason a question that he couldn't answer.

"Tell me boy, if I were to agree to let them go, how do you plan to protect them from my grip because the moment that I let them off, I will hurt them down once again and this time around, there is nothing you would be able to do about it".

Hearing the word that came out of the mistress' mouth, Jason was left speechless as there was truth as to what she just said. First of all, it is proving difficult for him to care for himself not to talk about them that have tired themselves out from all the walking.

"Why is it taking you so long to give me the reply that I needed"? Asked the mistress.

"Well, that would be my problem to worry about and not yours" reply Jason while holding tight to jack's arm.

"Hmm, seems like we won't be able to get into an agreement for one, Jack has been rendered completely useless so it's better that you just help me get rid of him" said the mistress with her hand resting on her jaw.

"This is your bodyguard we are talking about here, don't you feel angry seeing him like this"? Asked Jason angrily as to how could she be so heartless as to watch her worker getting killed before her eyes.

"Look kid, in this world, we do things in the hope of profiting so tell me, what am I profiting from if I were to agree to your terms? Would he be able to assist me with my experiment"? Reply the mistress with a serious look on her face.

Jason couldn't help but remember what his mother told him about how vicious humans could be and the mistress happened to be one of those people his mother was talking about. Since he couldn't get the mistress to cooperate with him, Jason decided to let go of Jack as he began to make his way toward the mistress.

"Since we can't agree on this peacefully, then I will have to force you to agree to my terms" Jason said in determination.

"Hahaha, this is funny, do you actually think you would be able to do that on your own accord"? The mistress asked with a loud laugh like someone just told her a joke.

"It doesn't matter if I can deal with you on my own or not, all that matters is that I force you to let them go" replied Jason with a serious look on his face as he continued to proceed forward.

"I hope you are not having the bad intention that I'm not good at fighting all because I occupied myself with work and had to hire jack to help with fighting cause if you are, then you would be surprised and filled with regret" said the mistress as she finally stood up as took off the whip before lashing it out.

"No matter how weak your opponent may look, never look down on them and give it your all. That was what I was taught" replied Jason before picking up the pace as he began to run towards the mistress.

"Ignorant fool, you are going to regret ever making me your enemy" said the mistress as she swung the whip at Jason who was running towards her.
